Club Mahindra Kandaghat Resort in Himachal Pradesh

Awesome view and location. If you want to relax and want peace the must visit this place. 25-30 km before Shimla. Mind blowing resorts specially in monsoon as clouds will cover entire area and you’ll be in clouds. Food is good but expensive so plan accordingly.

It was a wonderful experience to stay in the club Mahindra resort. The view was totally amazing from my balcony. And If I talk about food. Food is very costly there. We have taken membership. Still they didn't give any single food item. Also when we entered from the main entrance, there was not any sign board of club Mahindra. Don't know why they don't put the board. It may be easier for the tourists. Also the prices of the shops inside are very high which is not quiet fair for the members. And if you have your own car then it must be beneficial to you. Ok bye

As with other club Mahindra or other such membership based hotel chains. Good but out of the city. No nearby market or other amenities. You depend on hotel for all your needs. It is 28 KM from Shimla. Biggest drawback.

Rooms were good, the view was amazing, housekeeping services were excellent.
Food proportions were small as compared to price, that need to be taken care of.
Otherwise on the whole, it was good experience, staff was very humble and helpful!

This is one of the finest resorts of club mahindra. Wonderful service and location and staff is super friendly and customer friendly.food is just amazing. Everything works so well at this resort. Great place to holiday.

I don't know why Club Mahindra members pay whatever they pay if this is the kind of service they expect to receive.
We were kindly gifted a two-night stay by a dear friend who is a Club member.

But everything -
(i) the booking experience (the site is sluggish, unresponsive and an overall unnecessarily convoluted experience)
(ii) the checkin experience (it took 20 minutes for some reason, and they couldn't find the online payment for guest charges that we had already made online)
(iii) in room dining - we tried to order soup at 7pm but Nooo. They take orders strictly after 7.30pm. One would think they'd politely take the order and deliver after 7.30.
(iv) the attitude of the staff is so bad, it was hilarious after a while. If we asked for extra glasses, they said we've already put glasses in your room, use those. If we asked for 2 extra they'd audibly groan about it.
(v) Dinner at the restaurant - the dinner timings are from 7.30pm to 10.30 pm which is perfectly fine, but the last order, according to the waiter, was inexplicably 9.45pm!
(vi) the rooms are just OK. The linen is rough, the furnishings are quite mediocre, there was no balcony (atleast in our rooms), the TV is from the 2000s, the remote's batteries had also probably run out about then.
(vii) the toiletries were limited to a shower gel pump and nothing else.
(viii) housekeeping for some reason only visits every other day, by policy.

Even writing this review and reliving the experience is making me stressed.

The only reason I'm not giving them 1 star is because the property itself is quite good, good well maintained lawns, sprawling sunset views, nice areas to bike/walk around and their activity room is fun.

Overall, I'd never recommend this place to anyone except people I dislike and who I want to wildly inconvenience.

Great location, humble staff, tasty food, awesome garden maintenance, Wifi is available in the room though not very strong.

Great Property with excellent sceneric views. The food is avarage and didn't feel value for money. Make sure you tour the property especially sunrise and sunset views.
There are Hotel units, studio appartments and 1BR rooms. Prefer 1BR for personal terrace seatings and Hotel units for proximity to restaurant and funzone.

This is one of the worst properties ever. They are highly unprofessional. We had a Wedding booking with them for February for which they gave their confirmation right away but took somehow one month to take the discussion further after reassuring us every single day that you’re booking is confirmed with us. After mentally harassing us for one month they suddenly stopped picking our calls and stopped responding. This was very stressful and traumatising for both the families. They should atleast spend some money on hiring some professionals. Mr. Priyank, Swagat & Abhinav are absolutely worse. Really pathetic experience. Definitely going to cancel my membership.

No doubt property is good.
But the food is totally bad. They charged a lot instead the food is very much small in quantity. Two small idlis, two mini vadas.one banana and one small utappama and tasteless sambhar. They charged 850.

Beautiful place at the hills of Shimla. This is very large property with beautiful garden area. I booked 1BR and it was very spacious with beautiful location outside. This was the 4th time when I visited this beautiful resort. During other three visits, I stayed in studio room which is also very good and at nice location. The standard of room cleaning was very good. The behavior of all the staff was also very good.

Club mahindra kandaghat is very nice place to stay we enjoyed very much front office, ftont office people always with smiling face I liked the most. House keeping, kitchen staff excellent but specially Spa staff Rupchand, Meenakshi, & api they all are very good and helpful we enjoyed spa treatment we will recommend

Pros

1. Good location, one hour short of Shimla.
2. Friendly and helpful staff.
3. Clean rooms.
4. Reasonably good food.
5. Professionally managed and safe zip line activity.
6. Large well laid out resort.
7. Reasonably well appointed rooms.
Reasonably good roads from Delhi to the resort, expect roads affected by the farmer protest.
8. Reasonably good view of landscape / scenery.
9. Definitely try Apna Dhaba (adjacent timo the resort) and Soni ka Dhaba (near Kufri)

Cons

1. Very poor wi-fi service.
2. Poor mobile signal.
3. Pool table and table tennis table in poor condition.
4. Understaffed, hence delay in action for room service and housekeeping.
5. Very rude and poor central customer support.
6. Construction sounds during the day due to road work.

Writing this review pains me because we've been members of Club Mahindra for more than 10 years now and happily so. It was our third time in Club Mahindra Kandhaghat resort - The quality of service, room hygiene, staff, food and activities has really gone down.

Unlike the all Club Mahindra resorts which are known for prompt staff, clean rooms and engaging activities - Club Mahindra Kandhaghat fails to stand true to the reputation.

Room: The rooms are untidy- linens, curtains, cutlery, microwave oven and furniture have not been cleaned since ages; the staff is slacking and vaguely interested. The AC leaks and there is no availability of bottled water (they give dirty metal jugs to store water, which needs to be refilled and is not enough for a family of three).

If you have senior members or kids in your family, this resort is not at all for you because one has to climb loads of stairs anytime you have to even go to the reception or the restaurant to eat. My elderly parents were left panting every time we had to go out of the room to do anything.

Food: We booked our meals plans in advance on the Mahindra online portal but regretted it because the food was pathetic. Buffets is a strictly no no here. Please don't waste your money on their buffets as half of the dishes were unpalatable or just plain weird. With 8 degree Celsius outside, there was no arrangement for people to sit indoors and have Buffet dinner. When asked if we could shift inside, the answer was a plain no from the staff for we opted for buffet service and we had to sit in the cold every night (the plausible excuse of the staff was Covid mandates of social distancing, which were clearly also applicable for breakfast and lunch but that was being served indoors to us)

Absolutely wonderful place. Amazing people, I mean staff.super place to cool off your stresses. Independence day celebrations was a big bonanza. The staff represented an awesome performance of songs and dance. I love this place.

The resort is spread across many acres in the mid of lush green mountains. You will enjoy the peace, terrain and the surrounding.

1. The rooms were located on the third floor and there was no lift. Also, the rooms are very far from the restaurant and the reception.
2. This makes the service and response very slow.
3. Food is expensive here, go for combo meals or the full package.
4. To and fro from the rooms to restaurant takes a lot of time while you are waiting for the cab to arrive. I hope they find a better solution for this.
5. Restaurants are good.

A beautiful resort. Nice location, good food, great hygiene and amenities make it a great place to spend few days for relaxation.

If you are favoured with good weather during your visit, the experience becomes unforgettable.

Nothing special about location. Just alongside the highway with no beautiful landscape. Menu of the lunch and dinner was just ok. Staff will knowingly hide you about the high tea which is the part of meal package you take. Although staffs are courteous. Nothing special about the property and location. You should prefer Club Mahinda Mussorie or other place, not this one. You can come if you do not have anything else to do.

We njoyed a lot at kandaghat.their staff members taught my 5 yr old son so many creative things.even he didn't wanna come back.we experienced an awesome weather there.everyone must visit dere.tquuuu so much club Mahindra for providing us a superrrrb property.tqu tqu tqu so much to all the team members of the club

Studio rooms are nice and comfortable than 1BRs. Food quality is worse than other club Mahindra properties. Dinner buffet places is lawn opposite to reception. Buffet is tasteless and expensive. Bar is also available during dinner. Deepak who was serving drinks asks kids that mocktails are complementary. You will get to know about charges during billing. His team didn't admit this mistake. This places is not comfortable for elderly. Road construction is going on. Plan accordingly.

Again great location with very well maintained property. The entry board on the main road is tiny and you would miss it if not specifically looking for the same, but once you enter the property its huge with ample parking space and spacious gardens.

Place is awesome.food items have no choice except dal makhani & Shahi paneer. & manager has no commitment.for reservations of ur selective rooms.overall disappointed

Club Mahindra Kandaghat is a place where you should definitely visit if you are going to Shimla. It actually falls before and is at an amazing location. From where the scenic beauty of the hills and valley can be seen.

While I did not wake up early in the morning the sun set was really an amazing view. This was during the Covid relaxation and I was happy to see the sanitization, each and every employee wearing mask at all times.

The campus is large and just going around once was sufficient to get my daily doze of excercise. A place to laze around, relax, destress yourself

The food was again as good as ever in fact I enjoyed the lunch at the barbecue - it was mouth watering. In fact there is place dedicated to it only. For dinner and and breakfast you can walk down to the restaurant which is a seperate place.

The rooms were neat and clean and the view from there too was nice

Great resort, very humble and friendly staff and a lot of activities to do like paintball, zipline, karaoke and other games. The food is a little expensive but other than that everything is perfect for a weekend getaway.

Overpricing for Food Items. The resort itself is good and situated far from crowded locality. But the main issue which I personally found was it is very overpriced in terms of food items. We odered tea and were charged 400 something incl.taxes which is too overpriced also the rooms for non-members tend to become too costly if you haven't had the club membership.

Club Mahindra Kandaghat is a beautiful property with a vast expanse. It has been exquisitely landscaped. The rooms are well maintained and the staff is prompt.
We liked the bar be que bay very much.special mention Tejesh Sharma.who attended us well.
All in all a v good experience. Came back with good memories.

I checked all the complaints reviews. Club Mahindra has no answer of their customers complaints.

Beautiful location, great landscaping and well maintained. Very nice hospitality, cleanliness.good food, Only drawback i found is kids zone is highly charged not worth, felt looted there.

Beautiful property, awesome staff. All five stars in these two parameters. Food can be little better n charges should be more economic in terms of kids zone. In most properties in and outside India, the facilities for kids area is for free.

Very nice resort, plenty of space and cuisines to pamper you and including Spa etc. Worth every rupee you spend!

Property amazing. Service so so. Rates sky high. Food so so. Hygiene bad - flies everywhere in the restaurant.
Plus they charge 200 just for entry!

1 BR doesn’t have balcony. You cannot smoke inside the room or inside the hotel property. You have to go all the way up climbing 300 steps or call their cab.

They will provide 2 free water bottles to STU and not 1 BR.
1 BR got small refrigerator compared to STU.

Usually its other way round. I Guess.

Lies at Shimla Chandigarh NH22.while coming from Chandigarh it lies to your left side.there is ample parking space.it is a big resort and have all the best amenities in the world.rooms are king size and windows open to kandaghhat valley.the color of the hotel is all white and in the evening it is flooded with white Mercury light.which argument it's beauty.food is very delicious.and staff is very cooperative and friendly.a place near to Shimla.but still away from hectic traffic jam of city.must visit this place.

Went here for office trip in January 2019. The place was so beautiful and serene amidst nature n greenery.

RESORT IS VERY BEAUTIFUL OUR STAY IN RESORT VERY COMFORTABLE & VERY NICE STAFF IS VERY COOPERATIVE & FOOD IS VERY DELICIOUS.

Nice place to spend 5-6 days with family or friends has lots of adventure activities inside the property itself also a perfect place for scenic photos.

The location is excellent and the views it offers are also excellent. The room size i got was superb. This property has 16 gardens, some small and some big. They give a lot of soace to enjoy with the family undisturbed. However, there are no services available in the gardens. This is the 3rd day of my stay and the food has been below par and boring.

The property is very nice. The gardens are very neatly maintained. There's no swimming pool. The property is too far away from Shimla (almost 30km). But the food rates are just illogically expensive. If you want to order a Roti on your room, it will cost you 115/- rs plus taxes. That's so not appropriate. There's a small restaurant besides the property named 'Meal 2 Go'. It's wise to get food from there. But like if you are rich af then don't hesitate to buy a 115rs roti.

Room and location is very good. Dinner boufet poor as there is not much varities in both veg and non veg.

It's a nice adventures place. Good place to spend time and provides variety of supports to play. Attracts tourism!

Visiting the resort since last 10 yrs even before it was club Mahindra. Worst experience last night, had my sister and kids over from Usa.
First kids stopped by the gard from playing table tennis at 8.30 said it’s not allowed.
2.orded pesto pasta, were served white pasta and when we asked the waiter it’s not green or it has no basil, waiter Rajinder reply was that lighting is dim so may be you can’t see it.
3.we were offered drink scheme on whiskey which was 2plus 1 and we were not given the free drink. 4.when we asked for the suggestion book we were told we don’t have a suggestion book or complaint book. 5.we bought 8 cover charge coupons and amount of the coupons was not deducted from the total bill
6.we asked for the managers no or email the desk said we don’t have any visiting card of the manager.
Worst customer expirence by club mahindra.

Everything was perfect. I haven’t seen such a wonderful and courteous staff anywhere. They are simply awesome. Rooms were quite spacious.

Plenty of activities to choose from zipping, rock climbing, rapling. Hover board games, Zumba dance. Further to add to it spa services are great indeed.

Only room of improvement is food, indian food is not up to the mark. To add to the woes prices of food are exorbitant in comparison to the quality. Thou sandwiches were nice so was the breakfast buffet. But yes definitely need to improve on indian food.

One the best location for family party and marriages. The view from this hotel is so amazing. Thia is bang on the Chandigarh-Shimla highway after few kilometers from solan. Very good property with amazing greenery. Ampal amount of parking is available. The best part of this place is you will every type of facility which a 5 star hotel much have. Although the price is not that much high. But still you have pay for this type of luxury. Best location for movies shooting and photo shoots. People form south indian can spend quality time in this place. For family gathering this place is highly recommended.

Terrible experience, we came in for dinner and were offered a deal on beverages which was buy 2 drinks and get one free. After we ordered our 2 drinks we asked for our 3rd drink, which the server refused to serve us. When we asked him for our 3rd drink, he claimed we needed to order another round before we could get a free drink despite us even asking for it.

Following this, our food arrived which included a penne pesto, which had no hint of pesto. When we confronted our server, he claimed the pasta was not green because of the “lighting”, instead of offering a solution. Servers name was Rajindra. I’ve heard many good things about this property, coming all the way from Chicago USA, and the service reflected otherwise. No refund was given. I doubt I will ever come back unless something is reimbursed.
