It was a comfortable stay at Hotel Dhauladhar. The only inconvenience was the wate issues faced. Else this is a good place for those who do not need a good and clean bed and happy with the lavish comfortable space. Will not compare to the colloquial Hotels from big brands because they have much more to offer. But I will suggest this property for a budget stay in a peaceful and no nonse place.
Hotel in Dharmshala is under HP Tourism. Deluxe Rooms are good simple, AC is attached with TV, no refrigerator in room, no complimentary tea/ juice on arrival like in other some hotels. Food quality is average (very oily, some dishes are spicy). Parking is available. Arrangements for small gathering, conference etc is available. Hill/ mountain View is beautiful from the hotel. Best part is Dharmshala skyway facility (ropeway: from dharmshala to MacLeod ganj) is nearby (5min walking distance from this hotel). KFC and local market is good. Kangra temple is 45 mins away via car.
Location is good service is not good, you need to call the waiter at your table + the parking is not well managed we had dinner and marriage function was going on in the hall and we were stuck for 2 hours as we could not get our cars out due to the function lot of miss management. Not worth it.
It was nice experience to had a great lunch in @hotel dhauladhar. The service was very fast and good. The staff was also good, attentive and polite. There is only one problem related to quantity. Quantity was quite low as per the price.
Went to the restaurant there with a friend. Great views of the valley and nice open seating. The food was good, served hot and tasted delicious. Though we had ordered a couple of dishes only yet one could make out the Chef's skills. Beer was served cold. Overall a nice place to spend time with your friends over some drinks with great scenery and views. P. S.parking is limited and as it is in the middle of Kotwali Bazaar in Dharamshala, some shoppers also use the lot to park their vehicles while they shop. Worth a visit and a revisit.
View from the rooms is beautiful especially during sunset and sunrise, a very homely place. The rooms do need a bit of work but nothing that's a big issue.
HPTDC hotels are all good and this one is no exception. The location is perfect to enjoy the scenic beauty of dhauladhar range and dharamshala plains. Rooms are spacious with wooden flooring and feel comfortable on account of temperature.
Very well managed property of Himachal Tourism. The food quality is good and prices may sound a bit high but quantity justfies the pricing. Tomato Soup, veg cutlets are some signature items, must try i would say. The mutton and pahari dishes too are yummy but you have got to give time to the staff to prepare them upto the mark.
About the rooms, i would say they are "okay" because the rates are high as compared to the comfort and services being a government run hotel. But overall as it is most centrally located hotel in dharamsala, Dhauladhar is a great option to stay for people who want to explore dharamsala and nearby destinations like palampur, kangra, baijnath etc because staying here you can easily travel to mcleodganj and elsewhere.
Rooms are spacious but no tea coffee kits, no sleepers given.food was not good.view from the room was guarded by construction.they provided ac that deliver hot air.
This hotel is a good example of how Himachal promotes tourism. A neat maintained place with beautiful sunset view. Good food and helpful staffs. Being a hotel of hptdc, they have good tie ups and packages for nearby siteseeing places
The hotel Dhauladhar is owned by HPTDC. It is in the market area, so always very crowded and congested. Back side of the hotel is open and view is very attractive. Due to construction of a new building, the Dhauladhar Range out of sight now from hotel rooms. A small part of Dhauladhar Range can be viewed from the back side lounge. More or less clean and staffs are helpful.
Food quality below avg, I suggest you dont try Chicken fried rice & Chicken pokoda village people are better cooking this items. But place is pleasant and nice atmosphere.
Hotel Dhauladhar was a pleasant stay, though not very cheap. We went there in tourist season so the charges would be up. Room were big, and clean. Food was ok but try khatta mutton (himachali cuisine).
This hotel is just average. There is a lot of scope for improvement. The place is slightly laid back. They are not really bothered about their guests as the rooms are always occupied. We had booked the Cedar suite. It is quite spacious but the decor is quite simple. Lights flicker and some don't work. The mattress is slightly hard and uncomfortable. Pillows are thin and there are no extra pillows in the room. One has to ask for them. Bathrooms are big but old fashioned. The best part of Dhauladhar is the restaurant. They serve excellent breakfast. The dinner is also very good. In the evenings they serve delicious paneer pakoras (cottage cheese fritters). The view from the restaurant is breath taking. They have a sit out which us really lovely. Overall a nice place to stay.
One of the best hotels of HIMACHAL tourism at Dharamshala. Rooms are quite simple but spacious n well maintained. Restaurant is really nice n food tastes grt.
The only Tourism Hotel in Lower Dharamsala, which has an ample space, nice sit out porch, a separate bar. Rooms are simple but clean. Enough parking space and lavish restaurant with very good quality of food. The management is good but serving staff is very friendly.
Budget hotel. Location is prime but dont expect more. Rooms are specious but amenities are not upto mark. However clean. No restaurent service here. But rooms service available from neighbouring restaurent
