Dhauladhar Rangers, Indru Nag

At a distance of 5 km from Dharamshala Bus Station and 8 km from McLeod Ganj Bus Stand, Indru Nag Temple is situated at Indru Nag near Chohla village in Dharamshala.
On way to the temple we can see the snow clad dhauladhar range very clearly

Indru Nag is an ancient temple built by local villagers and is dedicated to Snake King. People offer prayers to the Indru Nag and they strongly believe that this God saves them from the natural disasters, especially heavy rains.
The temple is located on the hill top, the panoramic view of Dharamshala and Dhauladhar ranges can be seen.

The Khanyara road from Dharamshala leads to Chohla village. From Chohla, visitors need to trek 1 km to reach the Indru Nag temple. Adventure lovers can trek the whole distance from Dharamshala In the Month of July many devotees of the surrounding villagers visit the Temple.
Indru Nag is also famous for Paragliding since 2011. There is a small plateau located at the hilltop which is used by paragliders as a launching pad for a 15-20 minutes ride. The altitude of the site is close to 2000 m and it offers a short but beautiful flight over the town of Dharamshala. Best time for paragliding at Indru Nag is between October and December.

I love Himachal and travel there often. I tried dhauladhar rangers last year and now its one of my favourite places to stay. The place is very well located with great views and amazing food. The staff is very helpful in guiding you with local places to visit and any other assistance you need, especially the owner Mr. Tarun. You cant go wrong with this place and will become a regular like me:)

This is my second visit to Dharamshala. Just wanted some quality "me-time" and my stay couldn't be better that this!

I woke up every morning with a cup of strong adrak wali chai and a maggie, just glancing out at the snowy peaks right outside my camp.

Tarun has been exceptionally prompt at any request. If peace is what you need, I would recommend this stay over any other.

An incredibly differentiated experience in Dharamshala/ Mcleodganj. A set of luxury tents (all facilities like that of a hotel stay but the structure like that of a tent) with an amazing scenic view of the Dhauladhar ranges that no other hotel in the vicinity can boast of. Also, one can just walk out of the tent in the open ground to experience the same. What makes the stay amazing is the non compromise on basis amenities but also the feeling of being completely one with the forces of nature (you can hear the wind blow, the rain drops on the tent etc.). Add to that the great food and hospitality. Mr. Tarun was a great to interact with and also helped us plan the trip. They also have a driver who stays near by and charges reasonably for tours around the place. Although the place is a little on the outskirts its is definitely an experience not to be missed.

View from the place is really beautiful. Friendly staff, ambience and an extra star for food. You can really enjoy food with a great view of the valley alongside bonfire in winters.

Very warm, welcoming and helpful staff. Great location, and super yummy food. Clean and comfy beds, water heaters. Perfect spot for a quiet getaway from the bustle of Dharamsala/McLeod Ganj. Would certainly recommend to anyone who wants to spend sometime close the nature:)

Dholadhar range in the foot hills of Himalaya is very beautiful place to visit. You can visited here Naddi a tourist place and dal lake. It is 8 to 9 km from mcleodgunj.

This is not only a stay its a complete package of fun. In 7 days tour of himachal including mclodganj, dalhausie we finally reached here and this is best place then 5 star hotels. Food is awsome. Camp interior also awsome.

The view is scenic. From here one can view entire Dharmshala and Mcloadganj. The restaurant serves good food. Staff including Manager Mr. Suresh is very courteous. Mr. Tarun, owner of the property is nice and humble person. Excellent tents with all amenities. Camps are very well maintained and clean. Overall great experience will visit again for sure.
