From surprise cakes to impromptu dances, every moment was a treasure. And the furry crew? Animal lover heaven! From simple omelets to melt-in-your-mouth desserts, everything about this place is beautiful and not to forget the breathtaking view. Gone Fishing Cottages is more than a stay, it's a soulful haven.

Stay in Gone Fishing Cottages is like a living dream, so blissful and calming. Highly recommended. We plunged into the natural stream pool next to the homestay which left us invigorated and energized. The villa we stayed in, is so beautiful that we were left in awe with the minute details with which Dimple and team have decorated the villa. Our favourite zone in the homestay was the area where we had our dinner and drinks. Such a cosy zone with amazing vibes, made us realise the simple joys of plain conversations. We were lucky to converse with Dimple's family and each one of them is a gem of a human being. My 2 year old kid had a lovely time right from throwing stones in the stream to playing with the five dogs in the homestay to getting pampered by 86 year old uncle (Dimple's dad).

One of the best ever holidays I’ve probably had,
Beautiful cozy rocky cottages, lovely interiors, well maintained at that!
Food that could make your taste buds drool, the staff, ever so polite and willing to help, the friendly dogs add warmth to the chilly weather, but nevertheless, above all this was the hospitality of the hosts. There was a spell of bad weather, during which the hosts made sure that we stayed back & were genuinely concerned about our safety. No electricity, no connectivity to the outside world. But yet, in the given circumstances they did all they could, to ensure that we were safe & sound & taken care of, till the worst had passed!
It’s not for nothing that people who land up at gone fishing cottages as “Guests” tend to leave the place as “Friends”

This was my second visit to the magical world of tirthan valley. This is a narrow valley which is close to Manali but far removed from it by a 2 hour drive.
Gone fishing cottages is a beautiful property owned by Upendra and Dimple in this beautiful valley.
The location of the cottage is in Deori village which is just off the main road of tirthan. The entire valley is fed by the tirthan river which is famous for its trout and hence gets a lot of fishing enthusiasts. GFC is located next to a stream that feeds the tirthan river. The waters are beautiful and you can hear the gushing sound of the stream wherever you are on the property.
Their property is aesthetically done and are large sized. There are two gardens on either side of the property and quite a few areas where one can have a quiet time with their own group of they don't wish to mingle with the other guests. There is a dining area indoors and a cafe which is open on two sides which is very beautifull done up.
The food is absolutely divine. We usually had breakfast and dinner at the property which was great on all the days that we were there. Uppi and dimple took extra care to make sure that all went well during the service of the food which was exemplary.
If you want to get away from the crowds and love the outdoors I would highly recommend going to gone fishing cottages.
There is enough to keep one engaged. There are also other properties in the area and most are happy to have you over for lunch. Dimple will arrange for that if you so choose, I'm sure. All in all a great stay. My kids 8 and 10 had a lovely time. And can't wait to go back.both me and my wife would love to go back. Need i say more. Happy fishing.and more.

Property is located by a small stream flowing nearby, while the area isn't really clean enough to hang out
Deori Village is well accessible with a bit of last patch being rough but doable on any car (esp one doesn't have to cross highly congested Banjar). One can hike to a waterfall nearby.
Parking is outside the property but sufficient space to properly park your beloved vehicle

Beautiful valley getaway from city life. Amazing hosts Dimple and Uppi and a great team. Definitely not to miss the natural pool in the stream right across the property. So many cute quirky wonderful elements across the property made and collected from around the world.

We spent our wedding anniversary at GFC and We stayed at this place just for a day since we booked the last minute, and was completely booked out. We wished we had booked a lil earlier so that we could have spent more time here.
GOne Fishing Cottages has been in my list for a really long time, so decided we had to book this place on our next visit to Tirthan Valley. As soon as we reached, everybody welcomed us with a warm smile. We were so mesmerised the way Dimple has done the place, so so beautiful. It is a haven for people who read and love art and travel and all of that. Every nook and corner of GFC has something aesthetic. The rooms, clean, hygienic, and me being a person who is so particular about the restrooms, was amazed by how clean it was. Food, was top notch. We tried the trout, and soup and few other Indian dishes, it was the best.
We went for fishing arranged by GFC, which was a really good experience too.
Evenings were beautiful, the starry night, music, a cup of coffee, the people, have no words.
As Dimple was travelling, we couldn’t meet the mastermind behind this beautiful aesthetic place. But, as soon as she got to know we celebrated our anniversary there, she made sure to send us a few goodies to our home!
And not to forget, the doggos, who were our trekking companions, who were there with us the entire time.
If you are doubtful, if to visit this place or not, I would say not to think twice. Book it right away, you wouldn’t regret.

We’d been meaning to come to Gone Fishing Cottages since 2017, and finally made it 6 years down the line in 2023. Our stay here was less like a stay at a resort but more like we can here to visit family - that’s how close we got to Dimple and her parents!

While the cottages are beautiful and so well curated, each with a distinct personality of its own, the USP of this place are the people running this space (shout out to Dimple) and the dog gang!

This was our first trip with our puppy, Autumn, and we wouldn’t have had a better experience than any place than Gone Fishing! Autumn had a blast and a riot with Togo! We will be coming here again, to what we can safely call ‘Autumn’s second home’ in the hills!

Our stay in your home has been so therapeutic. I think we fall into a trance the moment we step in here, some magic spell must have been casted in the place by the numerous birds with their chatter and the river dancing its way to meet the stream.

One falls short of words to describe this place. The hospitality, the decor, the garden it's all unparalleled. Hands down one of the best stays in Himachal Pradesh. If you are a dog lover, this is the place for you!

One of the best cottages I've visited so far. We booked the Rose cottage. Amazing hosts and what a creative location. The whole place is a work of art and so thoughtfully made. Interiors have beautiful aesthetics and the food is yummmmyyyy!

Never has a vacation felt more like home! The property and the location itself is beautiful but what makes it even better is the people who run it. You're treated like family and taken good care of. Loads of beautiful doggos to keep you company all day! Be good to them and they might even accompany you on your walks. Be it solitude and peace you're looking for or if you're here with friends/family, this place has something for everyone. Lots of beautifully crafted corners and nooks for you to discover and enjoy. You can see the love that has been poured into the place and is shared with the guests. Also, DEFINITELY ask for the Shepherd's Pie followed by Banoffee pie for dessert, will not regret it! To sum it up, it was a beautiful experience staying here, and we'll definitely be back!

Nestled in the middle of a village in Tirthan Valley @gonefishingcottages will be unlike any experience you’ve had - that I can guarantee.
Right from the entrance which is opposite a stream where you can go swimming anytime, the magic begins when you cross over the entrance - the ambience is much like Alice in wonderland, except there are no cards out to get you. The whole place has been nurtured & built by Dimple, the owner — a book can be written just on her.
If you’re a lover of animals and dogs especially- you’re in for a treat. Rehabilitated canines laze around the property making the place feel like home. Princess Leah the queen bee, Jacko the-not paralysed gentle beast, Doby, the not beaten little thing, not stray Millie (we got a pup from her) and a bunch of birdies who come & go.
Outdoors- there are many layers & levels - one next to the kitchen is the warmest & enough picnic spots around to make a game or two with friends & strangers.
Evenings under the stars with a bonfire and a common pool of warm spirits, warm the heart. People come from all over and converge here - techies, singers, families, loners, birders, knowledge workers, artists. The common binding factor are the folk tales none other than by Dimple herself. She’s packed with quite a punch - one of the sharpest people I’ve met.
The rooms are spacious, no TV so nature is the focus, there is a home bakery if anyeone wants to lend a hand; the food is homely & outstanding
What to do there: bask in the sun, go trout fishing, go swimming, go for short treks, soak in the homeliness, the stories, make friends you don’t need to keep in touch with, go for long long long walks, go bird watching, read, play games, eat a lot of the delicious yum food.

I stayed at gone fishing cottages with my friends and it was a memorable experience. We really liked the rose cottage as it was beautifully made and the view from deck is mesmerizing.

The property is situated next to a river-bed and you can hear the sound of river all day. You will also get to meet the dogs who are a very big and important part of the property. They will be your bestest friends and play with you.

We also loved the food at the cottages, one of my favorites was the banoffee pie! Want to go back just for that. I would really recommend everyone to go there and see for themselves. Words are not enough to describe the property.

This place is perfect for all types of travelers. If you want adventure or if you want to relax, look no further because Gone Fishing Cottages really has it all. Wander down the the river for a swim or a fish. Drive up to Manali for a day trip and paraglide, then return to the most amazing food you will ever have at the cottages.

Personally, I am an ultra runner and solo female traveler. I was taken in by Dimple and her lovely team and treated like family. They are my family now.

The stay is amazing. The cottages are all built and handcrafted by Dimple and her family- which makes this place truly one of a kind. I am really speechless on how to describe GFC because it is just the best place I’ve ever stayed at. I recommend GFC to everyone, you will not be disappointed at all.

Beautiful cottages in a quiet and peaceful location. The people were sweet and helpful. They helped us plan our trip better and gave us relevant advice to make the hikes easier. The food was great! And it truly felt like we were making friends.

We were a group of 5 friends and stayed at Gone Fishing Cottages for 4 nights. We stayed at the Rose Cottage and it was beyond beautiful. The attention to detail, comfort and cleanliness were exceptional. The views from the open seating outside the cottage were phenomenal and it was wonderful to witness both bright blue skies and foggy rain skies. Dinners and breakfasts were a lovely affair with yummy food and great conversations. I am already looking forward to visiting again:)

The pictures I share don’t do justice to this heavenly abode. Gone fishing is a dear place in the hearts of those who seek nature at its best. Nestled in between the valley, and far from the town buzz you get the freedom to rekindle your roots with Mother Nature. Expect the hosts to treat you like family and hear them tell comical and witty stories about their extensive travels and other experiences as you share a hearty meal with them over a bonfire. For those who like the company of furry peeps, be ready to be greeted by a pack of dogs looking for pets and belly rubs. I cannot wait to make my 5th trip to Tirthan before the year is up.

The pictures merely catch a glimpse of the serenity and snugness gone fishing has to offer. I can’t appreciate the warmth and hospitality the hosts and staff extended enough. Mornings are greeted by furry friends and nights end with the friendliest conversations with budding guests, all accompanied by food that touches hearts.

The daily swims in the river pools and the views of the cloud-capped valley will more than quench your thirst for that trip uphill. I wouldn’t recommend wasting another minute choosing this as your next vacation home.

We stayed for one night (too short!) at Gone Fishing Cottages in early May and loved the experience. GFC is clearly Dimple's labour of love and is evident in almost all aspects of the property - the curated gardens, the common areas and the rooms! The smallest needs and convenience of the guests have been meticulously identified and provided for. She is a stickler for cleanliness and was a welcome luxury for us returning after 4 days of 'adventure' trekking with no baths and open toilets! We met some lovely guests from around the world, were served great food and enjoyed stimulating conversations in the covered outdoors! As her motto states, we did walk in as strangers and left as family! In short, a highly recommended place if you are in the area. One night was simply too short indeed!

Gone Fishing Cottages has a magical effect on you. The flowers, butterflies, puppies, captions, each corner of the place has something to make you smile and ponder about.
The food is so good, my tummy was full, but not the appetite, you always leave craving for more, especially when it is served with such warmth and love by the host.
Its truly a treasure to be experienced, and the place definitely lives upto the quote written at the entry gate. "May all who enter as guests leave as friends. "

We had a wonderful stay at Gone Fishing from 15th till 18th May 2022. The cottages are charmingly done up and have some wonderful DIY lamps which caught my fancy. The stay is comfortable and cosy.
The lemon grass soap needs a special mention-fragrant and refreshing!
The hosts-Dimple and Uppi are extremely hospitable and warm, which makes a huge difference to any place. Their team reflects the same and is helpful and willing. Dimple very kindly sent us a rescue car when we had to abandon ours due to a traffic jam.
The food is very good-specially the local cuisine.
The absolute icing are the canines-we had five puppies as well to add to our joy.
We wanted to stay on and on as I'm sure, you will too.

Must visit place in Tirthan valley, I visited this it on 28.05.22 and loved it for there awesome food (siddhu, trout fish n kahwa tea), beauty and a very warm welcome by the host.

Most probably the best property in the area. The food was awesome and best thing was the creativity in the way whole cottage was decorated and built. Our group was treated as a family when we visited this place.

It is the most beautiful, cosy place you will ever see. All the aesthetics of the cottages' interiors are very intricately and elegantly done. Variety of options for food which you can eat at their cute little cafe outside in garden. They also have a river flowing by next to their property.
Excellent hospitality. Entire staff is cordial and polite. Special thanks to Dimple mam for being extra sweet to me and making me comfortable in no time. Highly recommended property. This place will give you the much needed peace. Put it in your bucket list for your next vacation with family or friends.

As your grow older, not many things and experiences excites you. The one really touches your heart are truely Magical. Our ten day stay at GFC is nothing short of Magic. We actually found a home with them. Uppi Bhaaji and Dimple makes you part of their lives. We used to talk, eat, drink, sing, party together everyday. Nestled between the forests of GHNP is this fantasy place which I feel isn’t quite real when you are there and beckoningly real when you are gone ️. If you are looking for no agenda holiday where you can leave your lives behind just experience Magic, pls visit this place.

This is the most peaceful and welcoming place I’ve been in a long time. Welcomed by rescue dogs and the amazing host Dimple along with her excellent staff.
I had such a wonderful time here with my friends. We met some cool people, dipped in freezing stream water, played poker with new friends, ate delicious local food, went fishing, hiked to falls, did some painting and couldn’t stop petting the cutest puppies.

No words can suffice what a beautiful place this is. The place, the people, the doggos. Everything about here screams home. The kind of home where you'd want to kick back your shoes, lean back and leave all your worries at the door. Hospitality becomes them. Everyone here will treat you like a family member coming home after years. The food is impeccable, and they are happy to customize it per your needs. Uppi sir was so courteous and welcoming, they truly live by their words. We were travelling in Himachal for a good 10 days and this place was such a respite for us. We left absolutely rejuvinated. Anurag and Hemraj are absolutely wonderful and would take care of everything you can possibly ask for. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Can't wait to visit again.:)

This review has been long overdue. We visited GFC in January and I have never visited a place like this before. Uppi and Dimple are the warmest people you’ll ever meet and the place felt like home immediately. The place is so tastefully designed and the way the staff treats you, you’ll never want to leave.
The rooms are extremely cozy and the cafe is the perfect place to hangout and meet new people.
If you are visiting tirthan you definitely should stay here.

I and my wife with our pet visited gone fishing cottages in early December 2021 for our anniversary. We stayed there for a week. We wanted to be away from city life but also didn’t want to go to a place with overwhelming amount of tourists, so we decided for gone fishing cottages and in course of our stay, we realised it was the best decision. The place is super pet friendly so don’t be afraid to bring your canine along for the ride. Dimple is an amazing host, needless to say, it was like a home away from home. We had a small celebration for our anniversary, which was really heart warming and bonfires during the winter nights was a pleasure in itself. Not to mention the food was simply delicious and authentic and our canine (Simba) had the VIP experience with special meals prepared just for her. I would take the liberty to say that the whole Tirath valley upto Jalori pass is really pet friendly and we did not have any problem taking our pet along for trekking and hiking. All in all it was a 5 star experience and looking forward to dropping in again next year.:)

I stayed at GoneFishing for about 4 days and how I wish I had planned for longer. The moment you enter this place, you connect with the homely vibe it has to offer. Dimple and Uppi (the founders) are at the Center of this vibe. They are always found interacting with the guests, helping them, guiding them to ensure they absorb the most out of the entire experience

The rooms are spacious, extremely well furnished, neat and clean. The food is sumptuous and comes in perfect portion sizes. The staff is so so helpful.

We spent a week at GFC at Tirthan valley in Dec'21 and the agenda was to experience winters in Himachal! What we were greeted with is an amazing warm, beautiful place run by Dimple and Uppi. GFC is unlike any place we have stayed at and we truly understood their moto "may all who enter as guests leave as friends". The heart of the place are Dimple and Uppi and their extraordinary hospitality, every corner of the place is built with love and it shows.with the attention to detail in the decor, food and their personalized attention to all their guests. The location is right next to a stream with a natural water pool, there are beautiful walking/trekking trails all around and the place has breathtaking views. Days were spent in the sun by the stream, walking along the river or up the mountain on trails to Kalwari village and evenings were spent in their quaint little cafe chatting, singing and sharing amazing stories with friends we made during our stay there and eating lip-smacking food. We had a lovely Christmas celebration and before we knew it a week had passed and we didn't want to leave! GFC is an experience that can't be penned down in words! Dimple and Uppi are simply amazing hosts!

I am so proud of my "Instagramming all day" habit and following few great bloggers through whom I found this beautiful cottage. The place generates only positive vibes and how! The cottage is built aesthetically and well maintained. The people and the amazing doggos make the place greater. Dimple auntie was super patient with me when I was bombarding her with lots of questions even before we reached.

It was almost 3 PM when we reached the cottage. Uppi uncle came to our cottage personally to welcome us and ensured that the we were comfortable. He invited us to dine with him and his family. I mean how many people do that!? We felt home that very minute. We shared few stories over lunch and we were accompanied by the cutest Leah and Laloo! (Love at first sight).

The staffs are courteous, always extending their hands to help. Surinder Bhaiya literally pampered us. He asks what you want for bakfast, lunch and dinner. He suggests local places to see, tells specialty of the places and even suggests local food options to try.

There are a lot of places that you can go to from GFC. We went to Sarchi village, Jalori Pass, Goshaini Village, tried out few recommended cafes and we also took a small walk around the property.

One of their sign boards says "Please leave your worried at the door". The vibe and the people of the cottage take care of doing it.

We couldn't spend time with Dimple auntie this time but we are definitely going back there soon. Because Tirthan is home now.

We stayed at Gone Fishing last August and it was a great experience.
We found the location beautiful, the interior of the cottages exceptional, the food authentique, the hosts welcoming and really knowledgeable about the area and helpful with activities to do/go around (even with kids) as well as practical information.
We say: don’t think twice, just go for Gone Fishing!

We had an amazing stay here. The cottages are really nice - well lit, maintained, clean, furnished, decorated with fine attention to details. In fact this goes for the entire property as well. Every corner is decorated with artsy pieces, and has a story of its own. The whole place has a really positive vibe - with lots of colours and greenery all around. The place receives abundant sunshine during the day.

The staff is courteous and hard working.

The food is just delicious. Loved the grilled trout. And can never forget the amazing combination of dal makhani and butter chicken gravy (as suggested by Uppi!)

There’s a river stream flowing right beside the cottages, which adds on to the beauty. Serves for a quite, serene location to just sit and relax - enjoying the pleasant sounds of water coursing through.

The hosts are very warm and helpful who make sure that the guests have a pleasant stay. They were very thoughtful and helped a lot even regarding our onwards journey and for our next place of accommodation.

Definitely re-visiting this place!

Gone fishing cottages is a must stay property for anybody and everybody who wants to visit the mountains, it has everything you can imagine and even more.
I recently visited GFC with my friend and we were both constantly in awe of the place, from beautiful flowers everywhere, friendly dogs, great food, great and helpful staff, great spots to chill near the property, especially the stream, the carefully curated rooms, decor at every nook and my favourite- the art supply crate. It was literally a dream come true for me, to be able to paint with warm kava in my one hand and paint brush in another, and sound of the stream in my ears, birds chirping, chrisp sunlight, beautiful blue skies above and gorgeous mountains in front of me, I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear while I was there, I just couldn't stop smiling. It was just amazing!

And now the hostess extraordinaire, Dimple- she is not only one of the most talented, brilliant, beautiful and warm people I've met but such a caring individual who welcomes you like her own, she is just a blessing to anyone who meets her.

The Other Side Of Life

At GFC, the staff is ever smiling, the food is home, surroundings are amazingly serene, rooms are clean, washrooms sparkle, cafe is tastefully designed, the pebbled path up through the property holds so many hidden surprises for you like, ‘flip me’ stones or catchy slogans, only if you are a conscious walker …and so on…something that becomes so very obvious as you spend a day in the property. But something that few are aware of is what I look forward to every time I visit this beautiful resort in a small till-now-unknown village Deori of Tirthan Valley situated on the banks of a small but forceful Kalvari stream making the whole experience impossible to forget.

At GFC, you will get to meet some fascinating non-human friends too (each one has a story to tell) fed, pampered and cuddled so lovingly by Dimple, the owner as an integral part of her daily busy routine.

‘Oliver finds a home’ finally, well literally. Oliver, the white mouse living in a cosy corner behind the curtain of Dimple’s cottage, dancing to the tune of her calls and feeding on walnuts straight from her hand is a treat to watch.
Soaring high in the sky Julius n Caesar, the rescued kites since freed, respond magically to Dimple’s whistle and descend on the designated perch, only to be seen in fiction or movies, to have a bite on raw meat that she feeds them with her own hands. And you know what? Caesar has since found a beautiful girl friend who is seen flying with him and both come together for food. The dinner is on Dimple for the couple.
Leah as the reigning princess of the Resort leads, from behind the pack of her furry friends Lalu, Dobi, Mili, Jacku who at GFC live a dream life you only find in fairly tales.
During her mandatory walk through the Jungle trail, morning and evening, with all her pet dogs, she comes across plethora of bovine animals. On hearing her foot steps echoed by the surrounding mountains, the cows move slowly and lovingly towards her to get their share of ‘roti’ (specially prepared for them) from her hands.
She is mother to all. Next time when you visit GFC, put a walk with her on your agenda and enjoy the other side of life.

My first thought on entering Gone Fishing Cottages was that 'Pictures don't do it justice'. My friend and I stayed at Gone Fishing Cottages (GFC) for 3 nights for my birthday week and I would go so far as to say that it was hands down, my best birthday so far.

Like I mentioned before, pictures fail to capture the beauty that is GFC. As you enter, you're greeted warmly by the hosts and their 5 brilliant dogs! The hostess, Dimple, I am honoured to say has become a friend. Her generosity, kindness and absolute firecracker of a personality adds more stars to GFC, not that it needs it.

GFC has its cottages on an incline, a cafe and dining area in the lower half and the guest cottages on the upper. The place is so thoughtfully designed, it reeks of delightful character and rustic vibes. The whole property is nestled beside a natural stream whose sound lulls you to sleep at night. The entire property is bathed in sunlight till about 4 in the evening and offers the most stunning views of the valley. The beautiful flowers, the art in the cafe, paw shaped lights on the walkway and myriad other tiny little things are what make this property a haven. The cottages are filled with books for you to read and/or pose with. Bonfire nights are the cherry on the cake!

The cafe serves the yummiest healthiest lip-smacking food and Dimple's desserts are to die for (she, really, can do it all)

Every nook and cranny at GFC is filled with love, light and beauty and I am so glad that I decided to spend my birthday here.

Hello everyone, we went to Tirthan for 4 days, and unfortunately we stayed in some other property for first 3 days. I felt out of place, and was willing to leave Tirthan when i had a word with Dimple, and she was generous enough to allow us one night stay at Gone Fishing Cottages.
From the moment i entered, and till the time i checked out, i think it was all a fairy tale.
What a breathtaking location, beautiful cottages, mouth watering food (specially dessets) and the power team of Dimple and Uppi.
I think no words can express the vibes/the feel of that place. I just stayed there for 1 night (and that is my only regret).
I was searching for a place that i can call 'home', and i am glad i found mine.
If any of you gets a chance to stay in the property, i wud advice u to hold on to it with both hands. You wud be mind blown.
Everything is just exemplary.

I have beautiful memories from this place and i wud suggest each one of you to go there once and feel the magic.

Checked into the property to unwind from the daily grind, and, boy! I’m so glad I did. Everything about this place is wonderful- comfortable and cozy rooms, beautiful aesthetic, delicious food, surreal views, and the absolutely amazing staff! Located right next to a cascading brook, the constant sound of water is just what you need to forget your worries! With plenty of beautiful places within walking distance, you’ll get your fair share of fresh pahadi air with breathtaking views. And words cannot do justice to the wonderful people (and dogs) at GFC - so warm and welcoming, they make you feel at home instantly.our stay here was more than just a vacation, it was a sublime soul-searching experience.

During our first visit to this resort we had all the support from the owners Uppi and Dimple. They go out of their way to assist and make guests comfortable and happy. Staff in the kitchen and others in facility are well trained and we’d like to congratulate the entire team. We will certainly visit again and recommend this facility to our contacts. Well done Gone Fishing team. I did catch trout and ate trout almost everyday…. A memorable trip.

I'd visited GFC earlier in December 2017 and had instantly fallen in love with the place. However, I couldn't have anticipated just how much more GFC could outdo itself on my second trip. GFC is more than a homestay - it's an experience, and an overwhelmingly peaceful and happy one. Right from the outset you'll notice the incredible coziness of the cottages, and remark at the curated set of design touches all around the propety which will leave you in awe of the designer's aesthetic. While the rooms and amenities are all top notch, what will really stand out is the incredible homeliness of the entire experience - from really amazing (and reasonably priced) food, efficient and friendly staff, and great places to explore, to Dimple and Uppi's warmth & hospitality, a lineup of really friendly dogs, and the general sense of camaraderie. GFC is a place to connect with nature and people - the continuous sound of the nearby stream makes you want to switch off from the world. A special thank you to Dimple and Uppi who are more than hosts - by the time you leave, they'll be friends. Some recommendations from our side: the Rose Cottage is almost out of a storybook (the Gazebo is likely the best spot of the property), go for the delicious, hearty and wholesome Indian dishes in particular, and talk to the hosts to get some great ideas of what to do around! I'm already planning my next trip here.

This is a sign to make that long drive up to Tirthan - trust me, it'll be worth it with GFC.

Speaking about this place is a pleasure, visiting this place was by chance and writing a review is my honor.

It is to let the public know that photos cannot do justice to this place. I have interacted with Dimple and Uppi all through out my day. Seeing the cottage and admiring the looks is one aspect but getting to know how these were built is a different ball game altogether.

It seems they both have put all their energy in getting these cottages, which are now one of the best in Tirthan Valley. The services offered by the staff is equally good especially the breakfast. Sorry Dimple and Uppi, but i am coming there next time especially for the breakfast)

Overall, it was my pleasure to interact with them and stay there for limited time unfortunately but with certainty i will be visiting them soon.

I visited Tirthan and stayed at Gone Fishing Cottages with my 4year old son and it was one of the best trips and experiences I’ve had in all my travels. I was travelling with my 4year old and this was the first time we were travelling just the two of us. At Gone Fishing cottages we were made to feel extremely comfortable and safe not only by the amazing hosts Rana and Dimple but also by their extremely courteous staff Surinder ji, Anurag, Rinku, and the didis. The review will be incomplete without the mention of Dobbie, Jacko, Mili, Lalu, Lea - the oh so wonderful and loving dogs who made our stay absolutely marvellous and memorable. Everything from the cleanliness to the food was top notch. All the other guests too, who because of the courteous nature of Dimple and Rana, got together for all meals and we all become a unit of like-minded travellers together.
We lived there for 5nights and I could easily have extended my stay and lived there for several weeks. It’s a beautiful place, with a warm, fulfilling vibe, absolutely peaceful and full of love and compassion.
Thank you Rana and Dimple and the staff and above all the doggos for having us over and giving us such wonderful memories to go back home with. We will return soon (:

Gone Fishing Cottage - A piece of Art

I will try to be as genuine and honest with my experience but before that I need to give a glimpse of where I am coming from.
We were a group of 10 people meeting after a long time, so as you can imagine, this time we were more of tourists than travelers with all possibilities of being unliked in a peaceful abode such as this.

Now coming to the place, all I can say is that the hosts, Dimple and Uppi have created a home decor Masterpiece crafted out of the mountains. It comprises of three quaint little cottages, laden with beautiful plants and unique pieces of DIY decor. The rooms are comfortable and offers all modern amenities that one can ask for. The balcony outside overlooks a lovely expanse of green complemented with the sounds of birds, insects and the gushing water through a stream located just a couple of minutes of walk from the cottage.

The outdoor area has been decorated with equal amount of thought. Cozy little corners are created for one to sit and relax with a book. There is plenty of walking area outside to spend time with family or pets. It also includes a big enough gazebo (beautifully decorated again) which could accommodate the 10 of us; where we spent most of our time playing games and making merry while enjoying the breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.

Literally, no corners in the property have been left without a thought. The place is a work of art, bringing out a mystical sense which would leave you at awe in its own way.

The staff are courteous and polite, always available for any help. The food was delicious too. Other than the multi-cuisine set menu, the hosts also offered local fare which was simple but flavourful. The biscuit pudding is a must try and I must say, one of the best I’ve had.

So what to expect from the place? Gone Fishing Cottage is not into in a simple hospitality business but rather it's a beautiful experience in a mesmerizing gallery which also happens to be their HOME (so be respectful). Relax, enjoy, admire and also occasionally get morally but rationally teased by two lovely hosts unlike any other hotels or resorts where there exist no personal touch or will to create a better world.

I can literally write 3 pages of essay on my experience but let me quickly wrap up by saying all in all we had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting again.

I normally don't review a place but i just could not help but review this fabulous lil place which is called Gone Fishing Cottages. While i was planning my trip and googling options to stay i stumbled upon this quaint lil place n fell in love with it instantly. After arriving here we were given a warm welcome by Dimple and Upi which made us feel very comfortable n welcomed and also helped us planning our day trips so well. The cottages are so well planned that you can make out from the way the interiors of the cottages are done up. The food here is homely and delicious. The property is very scenic where you can spend days without needing to venture out. Being an animal lover myself, it was fun playing with the rescued dogs. These dogs are really friendly and sit quitely without bothering anyone. If you love birds then you can find a variety of species. Like people say for Kashmir it also holds true for this place "Gar firdaus bar-rue zamin ast, hami asto, hamin asto, hamin ast" and if you don't believe me please visit this place nestled in the Tirthan valley to experience the beauty.

To describe my wonderful experience of staying at Gone Fishing Cottages would take up a huge amount of space.
There is so much I want to write in detail about the amazing time I had here that a few words would do little justice.

But still I'd say,
My holiday at GFC was immaculate and charming in every way.

The cottages are spacious, clean, cozy comfortable, well ventilated and bright.

The personal touch with which each cottage is done up speaks volumes of the classy taste of the Hosts. Uniquely designed with detailed attention to comfort and decor.
One wakes up to the twittering sounds of a hundred different kinds of birds which is so thrilling.
The stream just outside the resort is perfectly refreshing for a cool dip in the afternoon sun.

The menu is very impressive.
Surely there isn't another place one would find Fresh, hygienically prepared mouth watering food to die for.

The property sits prettily amidst the scenic Valley with massive mountains on all sides and lush green pine and deodar trees.

The staff was courteous and helpful which made my stay so smooth and comfortable.
Last but not the least, I want to say a Huge Thank you to the rocking couple and Hosts, Upendra and Dimple. I owe my flawless experience of staying at GFC to you Guys!

The personal attention, thoughtfulness, warmth and care will always be fondly remembered.

It was just what the doctor ordered. Taking a break from lockdowns, we visited the Tirthan Valley and couldn't have made a better choice.
The cottage was clean and comfortable with large rooms and electric blankets that kept the beds warm. If, perhaps, it got a bit dark inside the cottage during the day (we were, after all, in a valley), there were plenty of sunny spots outdoors, which were ideal for a book and a cup of tea.
Food was ample and good. Try the trout - you won't be disappointed.
Dimple was spot on with her tips and suggestions and super efficient when it came to organizing taxis and treks.
As with any place, eventually it's the people that matter most. The staff were helpful, polite and friendly and Surinder, who had been assigned to attend to our needs, couldn't have done a better job. Perfect holiday in every respect.

I’ve been staying at Gone Fishing for the last two weeks to escape the pandemic problems and it’s been the most relaxing and stress-free vacation. The hospitality and ambiance is incredible, accompanied by delicious food and even better company. I recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from city life and wanting to enjoy some great weather, food, and company.

Everything offers a new experience here right from the food the architecture the theme the people here. I really enjoy my time the pets here. The best part about this is the host couple Dimple and Uppi a really takecare of the guest as their family member. They gave me so much love and affection and i didnt feel away from my own family. Excellent stay with warm hosts, the vibe of this place is just magnificent. Having food here is a delight, delicious meals especially local authentic cuisine from trout to bicchu kutti to pahadi style chicken one would relish everything here.
The cottages are made with heart and soul it reflects in every nook and corner. It seems creativity with keeping ecosystem in mind is the forte of dimple and uppi.
It's a must visit to relax and unwind.

Gone fishing is an amazing place. I and my friends had a great time there. There is a warm friendly, loving and cozy ambience about the place.

The staff is very attentive and nurturing. We had planned to stay for just two days but we kept on extending our stay by one day and ended up staying for 5 nights!

Each cottage is done up uniquely and the whole vibe is rustic and offbeat. There is a feeling of warmth, heart and soul just like the HOSTS!
It is a HOME away from home!

We, in fact, cancelled all our other plans and just enjoyed the sumptuous food and warm hospitality.

We sampled local cuisine and loved it so much that we ordered it again and again.

Evenings around the bonfire were to die for! And so were the dips in the chilly river water.one can spend hours sitting by the flowing river and listening to the sounds of nature.

Special Note to dog lovers:

The hosts are next-level dog lovers, have five rescued super friendly dogs which add to the whole feel of love and homeliness. Long Morning/Evening walks with dogs are the icing on the cake.

Amazing Place to lay back, relax & rejuvenate.
The stay experience is of a picture perfect home that I have always imagined in the Himalayan Valleys.

The Rooms, Living room, sit-outs, bar are just perfectly designed (crafted) keeping in mind the minute details that one would need to feel at home far away from home.

The hosts Dimple and Upendra are very welcoming. They were very helpful and made our stay even more memorable.

The most caring hosts, the friendliest staff, the loveliest views, the yummiest food and the warmest hugs! Hands down one of the best places I have been to.

We stayed in the 2 room cottage.
Excellent staff, polite hosts ensured a very comfortable stay.
The place is very heart warming.
Plenty of food options cooked deliciously.
You just need to inform that hosts in advance on what you would like to eat to ensure availability.
Rooms are super comfy, big and spacious. Beds are electrically heated and work fabulously.
Bathrooms have constant hot water, thanks to solar water heaters.
Power cuts are frequent though.
Wi-Fi available and works just fine. But it can be erratic depending on the service provider.
You don't get much of jio network, none of vodafone network and decent airtel network with 4G.

One of the best places to connect with nature, and live in peace of mind. The owners are awesome, they know how to take care of their guests.
