We have to do trek to go to this village but it was Nice village and we can’t predict the climatic conditions in this village and it was a little bit difficult trek to go up to the village

Grahan is a village around 3 kms from kasol. Here you will find a lot of homestays and yes wifi as well, however, there is no network at all. This is the first stop for Sar pass trek. At Grahan you can explore the wonderfull 3 waterfalls and the lovely ambience.
23 अप्रैल 2023 23:21
Would not recommend anyone to visit the place during rain. It becomes one of the most dangerous trek to do. And you won't be able to explore any place there in the village
23 अप्रैल 2023 22:52
A place of silence and tranquillity. A place of 'Devta' itself. Such a peaceful village. A trek of an hour or two (depending on you) from the last car-dropping point! But it's worth it for sure.
11 अप्रैल 2023 11:00
Beautiful place, very peaceful.
Best place to stay is The Space Station, the last property towards waterfall.
29 मार्च 2023 18:07
Heavenly! This place can't be described in words. My first ever snowfall experience. I'll surely visit this place again.

Very close to kasol center point.

Nearly 10km from the hustle-bustle of Kasol lies a gem of a village where you can find 'actual peace' from all the calls/notifications/disturbances caused by our very own smartphones so to speak. Grahan or 'Graan' as spoken in local dialect a quiet and peaceful village where the locals are friendly and the overall ambience is serene. People here are self-sufficient, however, they do welcome the tourists in their homestays for a cosy visit.

To reach the village you can either trek for nearly 8km on foot through motorable road or get a taxi (mostly pick-up trucks) to the base of the uphill climb to the village. If you take the taxi till the base you will not be able to enjoy the scenic views, the chilled glacier water and the trekking experience.

So move those feet and start walking!

There are 3 bridges which you can find along the way crossing over the cold water stream:
- The first bridge is a diversion to the village 'Thunja' which can also be reached after getting to Grahan. The locals told me its a 1 hour hike behind the mountain but I did not go there on this trip.
-The second bridge appeared to be not in use as it was laid with leaves and did not look like people used it to reach someplace ahead. But again not much foot-traffic can be hoped for in this area.
-The third bridge marks the mid-way point of the trek. You can recognise it easily as it is the only one over which a car could pass through.
Once you pass the third bridge the road goes at a higher angle but the road is still fairly easy to walk on.
I reached the base of the steep uphill climb in around 1: 30 hrs (as opposed to the online information of 4-5 hrs of total trek duration). Here you can rest to take a breather and enjoy tea or maggi. The trek ahead is somewhere between 1.5 to 2km which might take you atmost 1hr to reach the village.

You can either rest somewhere or ask the locals for the village temple and they would point you in the right direction. There is a small ground where you can relax and take sometime before exploring the village. As you move further ahead towards the snowcapped mountains you will see some guesthouses where you can book rooms or you can opt for the homestays for a homely feeling.

Villagers here have their own hand-looms (a lost treasure in my opinion) where they weave shawls or even scarfs/mufflers for their needs or sell them in towns nearby.

STRICT WARNING: People in this village do not drink nor do they accept tourists drinking, as it is against their beliefs and faith. So be respectful and avoid bringing alcohol or drinking it in and around the village.

Peace Village! Do visit. 1: 30 hour trekking (up) and 40 mins trekking (down). No mobile network, wifi available in the village. Places to visit: Pulgi village (10 min), Waterfall (1 hour trek), Sar Pass (3 days trekking). Stay is super affordable (200-300 per person per day), must try Israeli foods.

One of the best trails I’ve ever been on. Mind blowingly beautiful views and mountains. Must visit village in Parvati valley. Take a guide so that you don’t get lost in the trails. The food and service by the villagers is amazing. People are very friendly and sweet. There are some good waterfalls to visit during the day. Make sure to stay there for a night so that you can witness an incredibly well lit sky in the night. The moon is like a neighbor to you. Definitely a huge highlight of my entire visit to Parvati valley.

Unexplored village accessible only by hiking.
No motorable road to the village and so untouched by vehicles.
Around 50 families inhabiting the village. Primary school and Middle school present in the village.
Temples in the village are beautiful and only village inhabitants are allowed to enter inside.
Alcohol prohibited in the village due to their religious faith.
Snow falling area during winter.
Best time to visit is may-June.
Picturesque water falls are there in the village.
Lot of home stays are available.
Mobile network is not present though wifi is available in home stays.
People are friendly particularly children.
Few Shops and cafes are available in which product prices are slightly more than MRP.
Village is around 8 km trek from kasol.
As the village is in state forest area trekking to village should be done in day time only.

One of a kind experience
Complete the trek
Safety is not a problem
Made friends along the trek
Hash is very pricey, don't buy if it's green inside when you break the hash

Long trek while going towards GRAHAN Village, from the bottom start it takes almost 2hrs. However, while returning it's almost a 45mins trek back to the start. Talking about (GRAHAN) Village it's quite & peaceful to be here. Only the lucky one's get c the beauty of natyre, covered with high peaks & mostly snow around. Mobile network here goes off after you leave Kasol village. Once u reach Grahan u can connect your wifi to any of those local Cafe's u wait at. You need to take a 4x4 drive towards Grahan from the inner side of kasol village. Charges are (₹200 to ₹250) per head. It takes almost an hour drive to the bottom near Grahan. Then a hard trek takes u there at the beautiful spot called Grahan. #lifeinthewoods. My overall experience was completely awesome & I would like to atleast be here for a couple of months. Visit it yourself to xperience the inner peace. Keep safe while you start your trek with a bottle of water along as there is no water the trek way even in the mount's. Safe Journey

The village requires 4-5 hrs trek from kasol. There are also cabs which cut down your time by 3 hrs. Grahan is a serene and peaceful village in Kullu which reside between forests. It has camping sites homestays. The people are receptive and helpful. The sar pass trek is from grahan to barshaini or vice a versa.

25 मई 2022 21:43
Its a wonderful place to visit in kasol. That too one of the existing pure kasol experiences. Its yet to commercialize and can find breath taking views. It's a hard to reach grahan still its worth the visit.
24 मई 2022 9:07
Grahan is a beautiful remote village 9-11 km from Kasol

If you love to track, must must visit place.
15 मई 2022 4:27
This is a small village located 8kms away from Kasol. You can trek or can take taxi for 5kms, after that you have to climb up for the village. Village has very less population and still it is not known by many people. Trek is little bit tough for beginners but overall can be considered as easy one. Grahan has many staying options with wifi availability. But you'll not get networks in your phone once you reach the place. We stayed in 3rd eye hostel and it was really good. We had very tasty pizza and juice in another Cafe (forgot the name) but it was located somewhere downside of the temple.
You will witness several bridges and waterfall when you'll climb up a little bit from Grahan, villagers and doggos will guide you to reach there. Overall it is a place which is worth visiting.
12 मई 2022 0:52
Hiking is the only option for tourists and locals to reach the village from Kasol. The trail is pretty much marked with signages courtesy youth hostel.

The people are very sweet and humble but the best of the village are its kids. There are two schools in the village- Primary and Secondary but they are still struggling to get more teachers there.
03 मई 2022 15:15
Wonderful and peaceful good trek.just the perfect distance to trek (8km) scenic place more beautiful during the winters
29 मार्च 2022 15:51

30 सितंबर 2021 17:05
Grahan is a small village in heights of Parvati Valley, Himachal Pradesh. You can trek there by kasol. There’s no network connection.
Take raincoat with you.
26 सितंबर 2021 12:57
We were group of four, went there on a trip. Grahan is about 8km walk on the mountain. People are very hospitable, rooms were good and cheap. Food was simple, because they didn't know of our arrival, so they can't make anything special because they didn't have the items. If they make special they need to go down to Kasol bring the material and make it. So if you go there, tell the owner in advance of your requirements. And about the nature, it was just beautiful, green, tall trees (deodar). Water was crystal clear, directly coming from the source. I can still hear sound of water falling from the waterfall.
Tips: keep cash with you all the time if you wanna go to grahan village from Kasol. There will be no network, so inform your families, but some homestay have satellite phone, if you request they will allow you to call. Enjoy the trip ️
23 सितंबर 2021 20:52
It's takes a nice little trek from Kasol to this tiny beautiful village. The trek has some beautiful views and colorful plantation on the way. On reaching you'll find a village completely different from the metro places we go from. You can easily choose from some homestays and cottages to live in.
12 सितंबर 2021 0:15
To all those who likes to wander, visit new places, experience new culture, cuisine, etc.

If you've not yet visited this stunningly beautiful place, then you're missing out. It's a place where you can unwind from the world and find your solitude amidst mountains, clouds and snow.

But, remember to reach this place it's a steep hike of 10km to reach the village, once you're there. You're disconnected from the world, I mean no network works here.

However, remember you're here for peace and #metime, locals are super friendly. If you're someone who smokes pot, voila! You're in wonderland.: D

Grahan: A nice little village in HP. We went to Grahan in Feb. Started walking from Kasol to reach Grahan village around 9 am. (PS: you don't have to walk this long, the cab will go till 3/4 th distance.) There is a small cafe midway called RS cafe. You' ll forget yourself once you start walking till grahan. The way is so beautiful. The streams, parvathi river, wooden bridges, boulders, everything! On the way, we met a localite who told us to stay at Pushpa ji's stay. (Somebody told us this is the only stay in grahan with landline facility)
When the road ends, you have to move through the hills. We took ample amount of rest during the ascend. An old man named Gautam Ram runs a shop in midway. We bought some chocolates from there and continued on our path. After that, we reached Grahan. We stayed at pushpa ji's stay. Decent food, Pretty good place, and wonderful host she was. But we were pretty much disappointed, as grahan was not that serene or clean like the village we expected. There were plastic waste thrown everywhere and cowdung on every path. The village was so much commercialized. But later we went to a trek to nearby waterfalls, and it was the best decision. Lot of friendly dogs to accompany and slippery ice from last week's snowfall (be careful). Also met Inder bhaiyya who provides chai midway (near a waterfall). Handsdown! He makes the best Chai (pointed towards a mountain nearby, and told us that he got some herbs plucked from the heighest point, which when added enhances the taste of chai). He also told us that we can experience snowfall if we go to Tunjha village (nearby to grahan, situated at a higher elevation).
Next day we left grahan, we were sad because we couldn't experience any snowfall. Before leaving, we found time and played cricket with the village kids. Also, went to see their school and temple nearby. While we were climbing down the hill, it started snowing. And that was magical! But as we were midway, the horse men told us to climb down immediately as it is not safe to be here during snowfall. They took us to the bottom area of hill. It rained heavily after that. Later, we returned to Kasol via a cab.

The village is amazing, it has its own vibes.
The trek is around 8kms and it starts directly from the kasol main market. People can also take cab to reach 70% of the way. Although trek is recommended to spend some time sitting mear grahan nala. The village is not very populated and people are really sweet.
The views are amazing and it is quite.

No network zone mut still there is one cafe having wifi and some people have landline for calls.

Amazing houses and culture

Magical place, will be once in a life time experience for everyone who visit. PS: never go by the shortcuts local suggests while trekking to grahan, they may turn out too steep to climb
02 अप्रैल 2021 3:44
Grahan is a village situated 10kms away on a hill top from kasol. It takes approximately 6-8 hours to reach the top but you won't regret after witnessing the view. It's as beautiful as an infants first smile. There are plenty of home stays and you can get it in a way more cheaper price then in the main city. It only cost 100-200 rupees per person for accommodation and food is also quite decent and affordable. Best season according to me is in winters when you can witness snowfall at the very top and a lot of scenic beauty.
02 मार्च 2021 14:13
A quiet and peaceful village which is a 8km trek from Kasol
The village shares it's ancestory with the Malana village amd hence have similar customs and celebrations

27 सितंबर 2020 5:47
Magical village. Reach Grahan after 4 hours trekking from Kasol.what a great experience. A small village with 50-100 families isolated in forest. Camping area in between Sarpass trek. Days spend in Grahan is one of the best days in my life. Nice people. Great hosting. Must visit.

Depending on the average fitness of a person, the trek from Kasol to Grahan can take anywhere from 3 to 5 hours. It is recommended that you start early in the morning so as to make it to Grahan in broad daylight. Remember it is not a nice feeling to get lost in the jungle, particularly when its cold an you are alone.
10 अप्रैल 2020 10:23
Grahan village is a heaven, you won't feel to go anywhere from here. Grahan village is very peaceful and close to scenic beauty, people are very well mannered and friendly, they make you feel like home. I reached Grahan after trekking for 4 hours and what I got is a reward in terms of stay at Grahan village, I stayed at Blue heaven homestay, it is managed by buddhi and Uday bhai who served and welcomed me like brother.
Hope to visit Grahan again
23 फरवरी 2020 9:51
Grahan is awesome place for trekking from Kasol. It's almost 10 kms trek and last 3 kms will be steep which will take some time to reach destination. The destination is a Village where there are about 100 individual families living. The people over here greeted us and they are very friendly. It is somewhat difficult to reach the village without a guide. Once you reach the village you will enjoy the beauty of snow capped mountains and during winters you will also enjoy the snow there. The night stay will be in the wooden house with chimney to heat up yourself from cold as the temperature will go as down as -8. There is no any Network available here. For emergency calls you will get local landline connections in home.
23 जनवरी 2020 17:56

We three friends went for the first time and took the easy path cuz of rainy wet paths. Turns out to be the longest treks I've been after Nepal. Yet still it was worth it. Sounds of Parvati river and beautiful view didn't let us down.
01 दिसंबर 2019 23:53
Best place to visit so much isolated, untouched, no network, Sacred cafe in pulgi (grahan) provides good quality food and cheap accommodation, people usually came here for Sir pass trekking.
13 सितंबर 2019 14:21
Less explored way with a good cafe on the way.
Must visit, the only issue is walking for around 10km or so.
DO NOT TAKE ANY TRANSPORTATION, kills the VIBE.
03 सितंबर 2019 12:02

28 जून 2019 23:26
Deep in woods covered around the high peeks of Himalayan ranges with a breath taking beauty of water stream near by and the cold breezey weather will definitely make you stay forever. To get here have to take a on foot trek of almost 5 hours on single side. With many beautiful scenery. In village you have many home stay with some Israeli cafes. Also a must visit place
04 जून 2019 7:08
Beautiful, peaceful and amazing place. Very few travellers came for this trek. This place is best suitable for travellers who are looking for peaceful places with less to low crowd. And this the place. Its very cheap place in terms of a accomadation and food. And also liquor is strictly prohibited at this village.
17 नवंबर 2018 15:36
One of the most peaceful places in the world. Whole village is alcohol free and totally vegetarian. You can feel the positively in the environment. There is no Internet or mobile network. So, you can live life of old times and understand why locals are so happy and satisfied with there life. There are many places to explore in this world but this place is worth for everything it takes to visit grahan. 10 K. M Trek!
