Gulaba is 24 KM from Manali on Rohtak road, this is calm and peaceful place surrounded by snow Valley. You will found snow both side of road but this is different from Solang Valley, You will not get snow sports and adventure activity like Solang.
Gulaba viewpoint is one of the most beautiful place on this planet. Here you will find beautiful mountains covered with fresh snow which look terrific. This place will make you forget everything and you will feel like you the luckiest person who visited this place. Believe me it's really really wonderland.
Amazing Panoramic views of snow peaked mountains! Glad that I stopped and had great fun in the Snow. There were local 4x4 Jeep operators that offered services to reach the Gulaba point. It's advisable to hire these vehicles because of their better control on snow covered roads as well as the driving skills of the drivers. I had post images of gulaba view point follow #travelxperia
Beautiful place for nice experience truely not very clean snow could be found here as it is visited by people and as you walk on snow its going to be dirty so don't complain for it but yeah with a beautiful view surrounding snowy mountains and rohtang pass could be seen from here but not too much
Personally I liked it way more than Solang valley. Less crowded and less commercialized. Way to Gulaba is breath-taking. I came here in winters and kids can enjoy snow sports. Parking is ample and safe. You can find winter overcoats and jumpsuits on rent. Best thing, safe for kids for playing and run around. Rohtang pass is closed in winters so no vehicle on the roads after check point. We went with our own SUV but vehicles are readily available and safe too. Also, we saw so many bikers on the way but some of them skidded since roads become slippery due to ice.
Second week of December is the best time to visit! We were here for three days, on the first day it was rainy, second day totally snow. Witnessed green valleys turning into snow in one day and then the third day, it was sunny so we visited Gulaba. The snow was about 2 feet deep (totally fresh from yesterday). We just stopped at a turn on the road and enjoyed there. Make a note that if you're visiting in snow season, there's no option to 4-wheel drive vehicle as roads are slippery!
This is a great place to go to in winter especially when the roads to Rohtang is closed! There is a lot of fresh snow and the views of the Himalayas are mesmerising! It looks more like Switzerland and less like India!
There are many photo spots here. Parking is easily available in November, I can't guarantee it for the other months
Gulaba is a village in the State of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is 27 km away from Manaliand 25 km from Rohtang pass. A must visit place in case the Solang pass is closed. You can enjoy snow. Magnificent views of the hills. The place is comparatively less crowded. The drive to Gulaba is very scenic.
We stopped our car well before the Gulaba point because of excessive snow. There were local 4x4 Jeep operators that offered services to reach the Gulaba point. It's advisable to hire these vehicles because of their better control on snow covered roads as well as the driving skills of the drivers.
The ride to Gulaba point was of around 10 minutes. We enjoyed the open jeep ride.
It's advisable that you equip yourselves with right kind of clothes if you intend to play in the snow.
Special clothes are available on rent in the village on the way. This package includes clothes along with boots and woollen socks.
