This beautiful place offers some splendid views of the snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas, the lush greenery, the several heritage buildings and temples in Shimla.
Hawa ghar is located beside ridge road. The Ridge road is a large open space, located in the center of Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India. The Ridge is the hub of all cultural activities of Shimla. It is situated along the Mall Road, which is the famous shopping center of Shimla. Most major places of Shimla like Sanjauli Snowdown (IGMC), Mall Road, Jakhu Temple, Oakover, Kali Bari, Annadale, etc.are connected through the Ridge.
We visited Hawa Ghar during the month of July when it was moderately raining in Shimla. And the view of the valley was breathtaking. Do not miss this spot if you are in Shimla. Take a stroll in the evening and enjoy the amazing food and view.
One of the major tourist places in Shimla, The Mall View Point, Hawa Ghar gives a good view of the Ridge, Mall Road, and Himalayan Range. It is situated on the Mall Road at a high point along with the Chris Church. I hope you enjoyed it and hopefully will visit not all but at least two or three places of Shimla that I mentioned.
Hawa Ghar is one of the very interesting places to visit in Shimla as it serves as an open balcony to fascinating vistas of Shimla. It is located at the ridge in Lakkar Bazaar which has quite a height and that enables some breathtaking views of the valley to the tourists. It is fondly called as the “Mall view balcony, ” and is a hub for many activities in winters when the entire town is covered in snow.
Shimla is home to a number of buildings that are styled in the Tudorbethan and neo-Gothic architectures dating from the colonial era, as well as multiple temples and churches. The colonial architecture and churches, the temples and the natural environment of the city attracts tourists. Attractions include the Viceroy Lodge, the Christ Church, the Jakhoo Temple, the Mall Road and the Ridge, which together form the city centre. The Kalka–Shimla Railway line built by the British, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also a major tourist attraction. Owing to its steep terrain, Shimla hosts the mountain biking race MTB Himalaya, which started in 2005 and is regarded as the biggest event of its kind in South Asia. Shimla also has the largest natural ice skating rink in South Asia... Apart from being a tourism centre, the city is also an educational hub with a number of colleges and research institutions. Most of the area occupied by present-day Shimla city was dense forest during the 18th century. The only civilisation was the Jakhoo temple and a few scattered houses. The area was called 'Shimla', named after a Hindu goddess, Shyamala Devi, an incarnation of Kali.
