Hotel King Castle

Hotel king castle is one of nice hotel in Mcleodganj. It is near Dalai Lama temple. All staff of are very helpful and friendly. Every tourist have stay in this hotel.

My name is Pasang Tibetan rom USA. I stayed in King Castle McLeod Ganj Dharamsala Temple Rd from September 2nd to September 9th.
The rooms are spacious & beautiful view of Dharamsala Dauladar range & valley.
The staffs were very hospitable & friendly.
I enjoyed my stay this time & stay again in the Hotel in the future.
Worth staying & I recommend strongly to others. Thank you

It was a wonderful experience. The rooms with balcony provide a fantastic view of the nature, surroundings and staff is good & supportive. Enjoyed a lot.

Pretty good deal. Worth the amount invested. Superior rooms are big, spacious balcony and great view. Car parking is available. Room amenities are good. Lift is available.

We stayed here from May 25 to May 26th, 2023 for two nights, as part of our HP trip. We were visiting from SFO, California. This was arranged by tour operator Regal Vaccations

The hotel is situated away from "The Mall" and inside a narrow lane from main road, closer to Dharmashala. The roads are difficult to navigate, filthy and dirty. Walking score is zero for the hotel.

Even though it is a new construction rooms are not kept clean and not very well maintained. We noticed a small cockroach on the wall after we entered and were little shocked.

We insisted on daily cleaning and towel changes and were obliged. Rooms are provided with Electric kettle and condiments for early morning coffee. Rooms service is good, and staff are obliging. There is an open space on the top that offers great view of the mountains and can offer a relaxing atmosphere

Front staff have difficulty speaking English and struggled to identify our reservation done thru tour operator Regal vacations. After initial struggle, we helped them identify our own reservation.

Restaurant service is extremely bad and they do not provide any service. You order any items and it is served after many hours, No breakfast before 8.30 am.no dinner before 8 pm. Even the theu do not start ON TIME. Avoid eating in the restaurant as food quality is NOT great.

We did indicate the short comings to the owner/management before our departure, and they seem to be receptive to the problems. We had to checkout early in the morning and staff were in deep sleep even at 5.45 am and struggled to wake them up to hand over the keys

Would not stay again, unless left with NO options.

Stayed for 3 nights in non view room.
Pros:
1. Rooms are good and clean, with hot and cold AC.
2. Hot water available 24/7.3. At top floor they have sitting area where you can chill and view whole dharamshala which is awesome.
4. Food is good. They serve pure veg. So if you are pure veg it's a big thumbs up.
5. Hotel staff was good and cooperative.

Cons:
1. Bathroom were clean but were smelling a little bit and if you want to go to Market there is a steep road, so no for old age people.

Overall a good place to stay.

Received very good service, along with clean rooms. Also the location was near to the Dalai Lama Temple & market place which made it so very easy for us to visit these places by walking only.

Neat & clean room, specially bathroom, view from balcony was superb, Namgyal monastery, Tibetan Market on walkable distance. The food service by the hotel was delicious.

Nice and comfortable room, has a view if you book for the front facing room, has in room dining and a restaurant but it's vegetarian. Room needs to be a little maintained, as small stuffs like the first room we got, the bathrooms exhaustfan was literally hanging from the ceiling.but the changed our room after we requested, second room the bathroom door could not be latched from outside.as if no one, s in the bathroom door remains slightly open as it çould not be closed.but we didn't changed our room as it was ok for us as we were tired from all the travelling and all. Anyways good hotel, staff was humble specially Birendar.

The room was decent, Food was just ok, there was a college group who has come to stay in the hotel and they were creating so much noise in the night, Could not sleep at all, Complained to hotel management many times but no resolution,

Otherwise, it was a fine stay, location is very near to Dalai Lama Monastery

I truly loved my stay here. I loved it so much I extended. It is away from all the hustle and bustle, and yet very close to everything. The food is delicious. They go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Most hotels here have no ac or heat. Hotel king castle has both ac and heat. It is truly wonderful.

After reading so much positive reviews I booked the hotel without a single thought in my mind but the reality is something different. First of all I had to wait 2-3 hours to check in the hotel as the room was not ready. The staff and service is pathetic that i have ever faced in my life although location is fine.

We took Maharaja room but room is very congested and small half of lights of room r not working.very small room in high price.

The best hotel till now for me, the superior room view is mind blowing, a bit away from main square but if you are seeking peace, go for this one

Service/support staff was good but lags in terms of food & Hospitality. Nice view from balcony. Main suggestion is to improve food quality & variety.

Absolutely terrible experience.we booked the hotel online seeing and believing the pics uploaded BUT the story was something else.after having travelled for 07 hours the last one would expect is to be greeted with dirty entrance and torn sofas of the hotel that one would expect even worse quality of rooms.on top of it the sales team were not helpful and were very rude.overall i would never suggest this hotel to anyone.there are much better options nearby.

Room allocated to me was very good its an deluxe room with spacious no balcony.maintained very clean rooms location was prime only 700 mts to main market

Rooms are very spacious, other facilities like hot water, kettle in room etc.are available but room services are not as per our expectations.
First day, we find bedsheet, pillow covers and towels are in non-clean condition. However at our request, hotel authority has provided fresh linen on the next day.
It appears under-staffing in room services.
In-house restaurant is good.
Replacement of old towels with new ones is necessary.
It is a vegetarian hotel.

Very bad hotel. We had taken 3 superior rooms dated 17.04.2022 to 18.04.2022 through travel agent. Rooms having huge fungus on one wall. Rooms balcony was dirty. Bad services.hotel taken whole advance payment and not cancelled the room also.

Food was awesome, Good hospitality, room are spaciest, nit and clean, overall good experience.

First of all the reception.they don’t even know how to greet a guest. The room was substantard. The curtain was not movable as the channel was faulty. What they call balconies is hardly a 1*1 foot space. Side rooms have no views. Breakfast was so limited I suggest not to opt for breakfast there. The bed sheets was stained and toilet had issues regarding hand shower and geyser. I don’t know why this hotel was recommended by mmt, utterly disappointed.

Decent rooms and view from the superior room is great. The room service was quick and good. They also provide bike rental support. This is a only veg hotel so rhat maybe something you mighr want to consider. Some food items in menu were not available. Overall decent place to stay with family.

Located beautifully and their front side and maharaja rooms have great views of the mountains. Restaurant at the 4th floor too gives some breathtaking views with snow capped mountains. They have dedicated parking for about 4 small to mid size cars and multiple road side parking in the vicinity. Very near to Dalai lama temple and the main market is about 700 m at an uphill walk and abt 1.0 km by taxi. Extremely courteous staff and their restaurant have very delicious foods but only veg food is available. Has a lift too so don't have to take the stairs. They take all kinds of payments too. Overall a very good experience

Ac doesn't heat much, had to get additional heater by paying 400. Rest it's a decent stay

It was a nice experience staying there. Staff was helpful. Mall road is uphill but all major hotels are located on this road.

I wish I could give the rating below than this. Very unprofessional attitude, rude staff, they don't know the meaning of hospitality.

Hotel is alright look wise, but little things like bed sheets, Towels aren't clean enough. You can see the stains on sheets and towel smells a little.

I have booked a stay to their executive suit and trust me it was amazing. The best part was view from balcony and it was crazy. They have pretty cleaned up and hygienic rooms, and their service was best. Even their lower budget rooms were also great but we needed a perfect view. The hotel staff was very cooperative and kind. You should try coffee here which was also great.

The hotel is just almost 600 meters away from McLeod Ganj circle and the connectivity was great.
They can provide you scooty and cab both on rental purpose of you wish then you can book from there.

Cleanliness- Toilet, Beds & Room was very clean and well Maintained

Amenities- Heater (inbuilt) & other basic like water bottle, towel, hair dryer & toiletries

Food- Food was good & taste

Great experience, food was awesome. Got a great deal with breakfast and one meal included in daily rate. Rooms were okay and provided all the amenities one would need.

Downside was its location, especially if you are travelling in bigger vehicles like bus etc. Lanes are very narrow. And bed linen could have been more presentable. They were clean but had a very worn out look.

Worst hotel I have been in.it's a kind of a Desi hotel.services are worst no hygiene and no cleanliness. Food was worst as well as found a hair on sandwich.paid for 5k per room but didnt get what I need.

Room cost is expensive but the rooms are very good (paisa vasool). The view from the restaurant is the best and the view of paragliding during sunset is amazing.

Hotel was Ok, Room looked elegant and nice. Staff was polite and helpful. I have taken the 2 stars for the lack cleanliness (bathroom, and the bath room door couldn't be locked) and not maintaining the rooms properly. Evethough I didn't order any food, I was given a food bill at the time of check out. Offcourse, I didn't pay for it, but was not pleasant to see that.

This place is a full mess and waste of your money. Be whatever effective cost you booked this for, its still not worth it. It definitely looks appealing from exterior but its more than disappointing when you check in to your rooms. It has dirty floor mats, smelly washrooms, stains on towels and lot more that you wouldnt like to see. Avoid staying here! Pictures shown on booking platforms are not the actual ones- beware.

Beautiful view points from balcony of room and terrace, room service prompt, cooperative staff and manager. Food quality and breakfast of restaurant needs improvement.
