Hotel River Retreat - Dharamshala

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the restaurant; a fantastic place. We were a group of 12 people & everyone had their best time. Special thanks to Aditya and Akshay for the outstanding service. Highly recommend this must-visit spot!

Great hospitality and service. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The staff is highly trained. The food served is very tasty. I would recommend Chinese and North Indian food. I also tried local Himachali cuisine. So happy with our family trip. Would definitely come back.

Luxury hotel to plan your vacations in Dharamshala. Hotel ambience and view outside is just amazing. Service and amenities are perfect with reasonable price. All the tourist attraction spots are nearby to this place. Had a great experience here.

Had a wonderful experience at this place, 2 nights with family. Beautifully located amidst nature, on river banks, facing mountains.giving you a serene feeling.

We stayed in the Cottage type room. It is good if you are a family of 4-6 people. Staffs were very professional and well behaved. There are two concerns, the hotel is approx 20kms from Mclaudgunj and 12kms from Dharamshala down the hills. Second one is though food is tasty, but rates are little on higher side.

River retreat is a nice river facing motel cum banquet suitable for comfortable stay and hosting small parties, it has a very good restaurant Kangra Kitchen and friendly staff. It is very close to Kangra airport & 20-30 min drive to Dharamshala.

Excellent stay with family. Very neat and clean rooms. Service was excellent. Mountain and river View from balcony amazing.

The 2 most important things that you expect from a hotel - cleanliness and good service, both of them were missing here.
Used and dirty bedsheets, no stocks of toilet rolls in the washroom, handwash dispenser empty.
The milk powder sachets kept on coffee table were torn and there were ants crawling all around them. Contacted room service to clean it, nobody bothered to show up.
Moreover the staff responded rudely to even the simplest of requests.
The whole vacation got ruined because of this.

Pathetic experience, I booked this hotel for my family and now wouldn't recommend it to anyone ever.

Very good location. Beautiful sights. Staff is really good. They offered us a better room than we booked. Kangra Madra is very tasty here.

Very Third Class Hotel; don't fall for view there is nothing like that. Food is good no doubt but rest of things are really fake. Even ac was not working and lighting issue was there, we stayed there last month but our experience was worst. So i never recommend this to anyone. And we booked it just for the view and river but the water was not there and so many insects were there nearby the river.

Such a great feeling being here. Rooms are super clean and hygienic, very beautiful view and environment. Food is amazing. Sound of a flowing river just beside the hotel is blissful. Overall a wonderful experience to stay here ️

Not worth the price. Dirty, stained bed spreads from previous stays, unclean toilets and staff behaviour wasn't upto the mark, where you call them to get the toilet clean and no one came.: (Food is very expensive too. I recommended this to my in laws and i instantly regret it after they told me, their stay wasn't worth the money.

One of the best hotels my family have been to. The location, the interior, the comforting atmosphere of the place is the reason to give 5 stars to it. The food was great as well.really had great time there. Would love to visit there again.

Rooms were tight and claustrophobic. Location is just toooo good. They have beautiful view of river flowing and i shocked why they have given such a small balcony for river view rooms as river is the major attraction for this resort. We wanted to stay here but changed our mind beacuse there is no resturant which has river view and rooms are tiny without a balcony where one can enjoy. So no point of spending money here

It was an excellent stay. Amazing place with pleasant weather and river scenic beauty.food was very delicious with superb hospitality. Owner was a great personality. I will suggest everyone that it's a must visit property.great experience.
