Hotel Ros Common

Housed in heritage cantonment bunglow this HPTDC hotel has beautiful homely ambience. Temperatures are cool round the year. Best for bird watching. Absolutely no polution no noise. Enjoy British and north Indian food.

If you are a budget traveller, this is probably the best option in Kasauli. It's around 750m from the market and well situated for other tourist points as well. You also get a spectacular view of the hills. The hotel is quaint and well maintained and the staff is very helpful and nice. Food is good too.

For those coming in hired cabs, there's a rs 130 ticket at the checkpoint before you enter the town. If you get this ticket and show your booking details, your car will be allowed in. Cab drivers sometimes make you pay this money but say cars are not allowed in.

The property location is good, but you can’t eat outside due to monkey menace.
Now coming to the Food …it is truely PATHETIC. I am not exaggerating when I say the food is poor quality. The last time I came here in 2016, the food was average, but this time (2022) the food was horrendous. We tried a continental dish, panner tikka and a couple of North Indian dishes (malai kofta and mixed vegetables) … all of them were prepared in a hurry by an amateur. Please AVOID unless you are starving and have no other alternative. We are repenting spending Rs 1500 at this place. Even if someone pays us, we won’t have food at this place again.

One of the best places for lunch/dinner in Kasauli. The view of the valley from them tables under tall pine trees is relaxing.

Kasauli is a small place with lot of peaceful surroundings, and scenic beauty. Hotel Ros Common with its location, parking space & wonderful service compliments to the beautiful place Kasuali. I browsed around but best place to stay with all the amenities!

The garden and outside setting area is very dusty covered with many waste products, all the swings are broken in kids area.

New Ross common is great government hotel. Good parking space and good restaurant. Hotel management must control entry of dogs in front of main lobby gate.

It's a tiny heritage bungalow with four or five rooms. It's location on the Lower Mall, 10 minutes walk to the Kasauli Club or to the market or to the multilevel car parking is its advantage. It also has parking, outdoor service. Helpful staff

Best thing is the location of the hotel. Rooms are cozy made with himachali touch. Washrooms are clean. There is a dinning hall, outdoor seating is also available.

Quaint little property with unparalleled views and homely feeling. Little rustic, needs better maintenance but cooperative and attentive staff. Ample open space, parking for about 8 cars for 6 rooms. Room service available. Inhouse dining room. Antique type furniture. Reasonable room rent.

The best hotel in kasauli in terms of the overall experience of the place. Room sizes are very good. Not to forget to have your meal seating in the lawn.

Missing Star description: Very outdated rooms and washrooms, in 3000+GST its not worth staying here, I dont understand if you guys are taking 3000+GST why you are not updating it upto the mark. So we had poor stay. In the market you can have excellent luxury in 3000+ GST so Price is on higher side here with poor staying services.
Moreover, garden is dried as seems no care is even given to the beauty of the property.

Advise: Himachal Govt.must look into the above pointers in order to attract more tourims.

This is a restaurant run by Himachal govt. The place has good ambience and good out door seating in the garden too. They serve, pretty decent food at reasonable rates. The service and location is amazing.

Lovely place, beautiful location. Hptdc needs to work on upkeep of such a lovely property. Despite shortage of staff they provided excellent service.

A wonderful hotel located at a distance of 500 metres from the main market of kasauli. Very nice view and outdoor seating available. Rooms are cozy and clean.we had a relaxing stay at this property.

If in Kasauli, do try Ros common restaurant for good food and snacks. They have timings for lunch so if you go there post 2: 30 or 3: 00 PM then chances of getting lunch is rare. We got lucky as the staff who attended us was very friendly and went extra mile. He confirmed us that he will feed us good food and he lived up with his word. The ambiance is really peaceful and clam. Loved the experience and hospitality.

Nice rooms, great location, pretty views all around, reasonably adequate parking, but maintenance is lackadaisical. And the food is oh-so-expensive!

The hotel is similar to all the government maintained properties. The staff is fine and rooms have old world charm about them. There is room on rear side which faces the valley which is good. The menu is overpriced considering the fact that there few eateries in the market area.

I have been visiting this place since childhood, woth family and friends, little expensive on pocket but the place is best accessible to all ages as no stairs etc required and restaurant is on ground level, a small play area for kids amd garden as well as inside sitting area available, also if one is travelling to Manki Point/the Samjeevni Hanuman Temple this comes on the way.

Great location, secluded place with a good view. I visited during the monsoons, and the clouds used to come up the valley into the premises. Rates are reasonable for the rooms. The lawn is a great area toh sit and work

It's a government run hotel and restaurant. And location and view is also beautiful the side seeing from this hotel is amazing. The food is also good and cheaper as compared to the other hotel because it's a government hotel but doesn't feel like that because of its well mentioned and clean and also outside park is there where you can sit and eat. It's there in way to Monkey point.

This hotel is located at a great place if you are visiting Kasauli. I mean, if you are in Kasauli and staying in here, you almost don't need a car to visit the city and around. But the hotel rooms are not maintained well. I stayed here for 2 nights in a deluxe family suite. The room is good, but it's bathroom is very poorly maintained, compared to it has to be for a deluxe family suite. Taps are very low-flowing, hot water isn't available instantly, room service is not frequent. Left-over foods and used victuals aren't cleaned for long or until you call someone. On the other hand, the prices of the food items are very high for no reason, compared to same kind of hotels managed by HPTDC in other places, such as in Bharmour.

The location is mesmerising facing the whole open valley with a beautiful and picturesque view. But, otherwise, the room service, staff and food are the worst and poorest in terms of hospitality in a station like Kasauli. It is an overrated place.

Nice serene location, extremely helpful courteous staff. The upkeep of common area and washrooms could be much better. The food could also improve manifold. The only reason I would go back would be for the view and the staff. May be have a cup of coffee and some basic snacks where one could not go wrong.

Housekeeping ultra poor rooms were not clean. Full of dust.
Earlier it used to be excellent in all respects but not now.

There is a walking trail starting near this point which takes one to sunset point which was also great!

Had a great 3 days, 2 night stay in this hotel. Awesome location, view, rooms and the gardens. Best part was the hospitality, service and reasonable price.

Ohh man what a place. Sunday ride to kausali on cycles and the food was cherry on top. Must try dish butter chicken, dal makhani always.

Quiet place in one of the best cantonment areas of India. Nice place to visit early morning for a good cup of tea and breakfast. A place few riders visit frequently on Sunday rides. HPTDC runs this well. If you're there for breakfast. Mushroom toast is highly recommended. Will definitely be back soon!

If you want to go to this place just for view and sightseeing, it is recommended. But if you are thinking about eating then please be advised, it's pathetic, tasteless. Even my dog can cook better than their chef!

This is Himachal gov operated hotel. Don't expect it to be cheap. Food is fine. You will find better hotel rooms in other hotels than this in the price range offered.

Located one km below Kasauli, saves time during rush season. Parking is limited but available. Good facilities, good food, well maintained park inside.

HPTDC hospitality. Lovely small cozy place. Very good service, good food, smiling staff, it offers more than what we can expect from a govt.run institution.

We had breakfast there and it was yummy. Location is just perfect for anyone who wants to sit peacefully and have a cup of coffee.

A nice eatery in the hills of Kasaul. Some authentic non veg dishes are available though I didn't try that. Nothing great but decent enough in such a place. The place is scenic and the cleanliness is good.

Great location, lively environment with natural beauty, beautiful birds. But the experience was completely dampened by too many cockroaches having a get together gala of the year. Food options also have a wide scope for improvement.

The perfect hotel in kasauli. Has all the basic facilities with nice and tidy rooms. Views from hotel lawn are awesome. The nearness of the hotel to main kasauli market is a plus.

Beautiful place to stay with a romantic sitting area overlooking the hills. The staff are warm and extremely friendly. Himachali specialities were tasty along with the rest of the menu.

Ross Common, We had smaller room than other, but every thing including view, service, staff of hotel and food in restaurant was very nice.

Very nice place, specifically in daytime, because the shivalik range is very beautiful in appearance from this place.
