Idyllic Inn - A family run Farmstay

The rooms are a bit cozy when compared to nearby cottages and resorts and the food is also not up to the standard.

We were booked 5 rooms. A very bad smell (septic tank smell) came in one of the rooms. Individual water heater fixed in the bathroom that won't help you. You need to wait 2 hours to get warm water for one person. I took an ice bath.:)

They have an electric bed is great while sleeping if you wake up from the bed then.

The owner and his father know English but the owner's mother knows Hindi only and also such a rude attitude. It was very difficult to manage with her.

The servant worked like a charm what a speedy service.and helped to buy a diaper for the kid during shop closing time.

I would recommend staying nearby JustaInn, Rider Cafe, Highland Park, Kotach, etc.

Very lovely property to stay with your family in a very calm and serene environment. Very good food made with love and care by owner family. Kids have ample space to roam around within the property. Trust me, this place is even more beautiful than it really looks in the pictures. Highly recommended.

We stayed for 3 nights at Idyllic Inn after reading the positive news. The owners, Sanil and Deepika were absolutely delight in every interaction. The location is superb, surrounding between majestic mountains among beautiful apple orchards with comfortable cottages with all amenities, good bed, clean washrooms, internet and TV yet not far from hussle and bustle of Manali mall road. Definately food is worth a mention because of its taste and healthy with fast and timely service. Travelling with kids and elder, the place was indeed a home away from home. It was great interacting with owner's family.

A lovely homestay away from city hustle and bustle. Rooms are well appointed. One could find peace in here. Early morning walks around the village is beautiful. Plenty of options to eat around as there many good restaurants around here.

We hired an entire cottage of 4 rooms. No doubt the property, location and rooms were beautiful BUT BUT following points bothered us: For drinking water we were told to fill the bottles from bathroom wash basin! Food portion, taste and quality were pathetic that's why we chose road side dhaba over the in house canteen. Customer centric approach is necessary that's why we posted critical reviews. In return, the host called us junkies, which is totally disgraceful. May some sense prevail.

I regret to inform you that my experience at this property was highly disappointing. Despite the picturesque location and promising reviews, I found the stay to be an unpleasant one.

To begin with, the so-called "sugarcoated" behavior of the hosts turned out to be nothing more than a façade. Underneath the veneer of politeness and hospitality, the hosts displayed a discourteous and rude attitude. Their constant judgemental eavesdropping left me feeling uneasy and unwelcome.

Furthermore, the lack of privacy was alarming. The hosts had no qualms about barging into the room unannounced, making me feel uncomfortable and violated. Additionally, the slow service was a major inconvenience. But still full marks to their help Sonubhaiya. It took an inordinate amount of time for any request to be fulfilled, leaving me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.

Lastly, the homestay provided no value for money. The exorbitant price charged for the substandard service and facilities was not justified. Overall, my experience at this property was unpleasant, and I would not recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.

I would also like to add that the behavior of the homestay owner towards negative reviews on Google was extremely unprofessional and uncivil. Rather than addressing the concerns raised by guests, the owner responded with rude and defensive replies, dismissing any criticism and refusing to take responsibility for their shortcomings.

This further added to my disappointment with the stay, as it showed a complete lack of concern for customer satisfaction and a disregard for the importance of constructive feedback.

In conclusion, the stay at this property was a disappointing experience, marred by sugarcoated rude behavior, constant judgmental eavesdropping, lack of privacy, slow service, no value for money, and unprofessional handling of negative reviews.

It was a wonderful & pleasent stay at this amazing property. Salin, Dipika & their team are the best of hosts when it comes to customer delight.

Best homestay facility in Manali. Great surroundings. Rooms are good, spacious. Very hygienic. Bathrooms are clean and that is the most important factor when you select a homestay. They take care of you very well. Location is perfect. Great view of the snow capped mountains. Very serene. Food is homestyle. We had a great time and our 8 year old really had so much fun. We were traveling around Himachal when i reached this place accidentally, we were welcomed by Sanil Ji who is the owner of this property, he runs it with his family and all of them would go out of their way to make us comfortable and feel at home.
We just fell in love with the place.
The cafe was a cherry on the cake. Amazing home cooked food.

Just Perfect stay. Rooms were very clean. Location is mesmerising reason being beautiful and scenic view of snow covered mountains. Its located a bit outside of Old Manali city away from the crowd and in between the valleys. Food was home cooked and very delicious. Owners Sanil Ji and Deepika Ma’am are amazing hosts.

The only place I go and stay when in Manali. Right in between apple orchards, these homely cottages is perfect for family and couples. Managed by my beloved big brother and bhabhi and their lovely mum, Idyllic Inn is far from the bustling crowd of Manali. Its a perfect homestay for relaxing and enjoying what Manali is all about.

PS: dont forget to spend time with the owner (my brother) as he would regale you with interesting stories of Manali.

We stayed at this beautiful property for 4 days with my entire family for new years and without a doubt was the best stay I've had. The place stands true to its name, it indeed is an idyllic stay from beautiful location to warm people, Thanks to Salil bhaiya, Deepika bhabhi for being such an amazing host and Aunty for the scrumptious food. It is a highly recommend stay and looking forward to visit again.

The stay is very comfortable with an excellent view of snowcapped mountains. The food department is managed by Sanil’s mother and believe me its at another level.

Location is Shanag village which is away from the Manali town chaos and crowd which is a wonderful experience one should have.

Home away from home!

Great location, excellent food and awesome owners. We stayed for 3 days in June 2022 and it was really a great experience with the mountain views, soothing sound of running water and ever smiling and helpful owners who are ready to help you any time. Staying here seems like staying at your home. The food was amazing and felt like homely. One suggestion is to provide the guests either the menu in room or text them the memu each day so that they need not trouble you each time. I will surely recommend to stay atleast once at this property and I am sure that you will come back to the same property the next time you visit manali again.

A perfect place and a good stay. Food is very nice and the rooms are perfect! The family that runs the home stay are good but I wish the male owner was a little cool in taking feedback or may be complaints as well! I wanted to give him a feedback may be a complaint and he literally told me that “ I can argue with you on this till hours “ and then I stopped. But in hospitality industry you have to prepared for wrong customer wrong complaints intact unless it’s too demeaning you can’t talk in this way! So I give the place all stars but will not want to go back due to that very sentence n the attitude in fact cant recommend it to my dear ones as well who knows if they have a problem n they complain that guy might behave in a difficult way!

Best place to stay at Manali. Period! Our Manali experience would not have been half as good if we would have chosen to stay elsewhere. I am from Mumbai and I am not used to the extreme cold in this part of the country. We were also travelling with my 7 year old, who is again born in Mumbai. But Sanil, Deepika and Aunty ensured we are taken care of and are comfortable in every possible way. That's the charm of staying in family managed homestay.
The food here is the best here I have had at any homestay/hotel and resort. The kitchen is personally managed by Aunty and the food was a highlight of the stay. They have a kitchen garden from where they source most of their veggies. Aunty herself makes all the pickles and jams, which are fab to say the least.
Sanil and Deepika also organised a Jam Session on one of the nights, it was beyond beautiful and perfect!
Overall we had a great experience and have already planned our summer trip!

Idyllic Inn is a safe haven for individual and group/ family travellers.
This place is owned and managed by a couple from the corporate world who had the passion for the mountains and the courage to take the leap.
The rooms are clean, the property is beautiful and is very close to the heart of Manali but the best bit has to be the Food! The food there is cooked by their Mom and it is out of the world, absolutely to die for! Do not miss the plum & apricot chutney, apple pickle, and their chicken dishes! Big thumbs up on the overall experience!

The stay here was fabulous. Visited the place on a very good reccomendation and boy was the reccomendation on point. To start with this place gets a 5 star on every single criterion we judge stays on.
Located near the fabled Nehru Kund this property is set amidst apple trees with a view of the beautiful peaks.
The place is easily accessible and is close to all the hot spots as well as away from the crowds which makes it perfect. The property is run by a very welcoming family. They have their own organic garden where they grow almost everything from carrots to spinach to French beans to lettuce and every healthy green you can think of. The property boasts of apple and walnut trees.
I visited the place in the month of August with my family and occupied two cottages. The rooms are spacious and well designed. They have lovely sitting areas as well as a kitchen in case you want to cook yourself a meal although I'd recommend that you don't because of my next paragraph.
As the family runs their own garden they also run a wonderful kitchen and dole out lipsmacking dishes day in day out. Some of my favourites were her chole bhature, palak chicken, chicken curry, sarrata, apple pickle, plum chutney, wild mushroom pickle, chilli pickle and almost everything I ate. I honestly used to look forward to the next meal and the family running the place will feed you like you've come home to your mother's place. All in all the food is absolutely fresh, organic, and I promise that you will lick your fingers off.
To summarise I had a brilliant stay and if you're considering going here, go for it without a second thought.

I am writing this review because I am actually feeling like appreciating this amazing place. (I am back home and I still can't get over this place).
So If we talk about the place, The location is obviously the best. I chose this place among 60 other accommodations. And I am glad I chose this place.
On the other hand, the family that runs the farmstay is super warm and loving. They care for the people who stay. Their hospitality is great. They made us feel at home. The whole family is a darling I must say.
Third, they have amazing jams, pickles and chutneys, a must try.
I am running towards Idyllic everytime I visit Manali.

Me and my husband came here for our first lohri after marriage and the owner gave us such a warm welcome with the traditional bonfire. (Thanks ma'am, you really made it special). If you're in search of amazing rooms, delicious home-cooked food and mesmerising scenic beauty, definitely try out idyllic inn homestay!

The photos available online don't do justice to this cosy homestay, not only is it in the middle of an apple orchard, the rooms overlook mighty mountains that are covered in snow, sanil and Deepika feel like family members in a matter of hours and ensured a comfortable stay, also the food is just home cooked and perfect for winter days and tastes wonderful 10/10 would go again

One of the best place to stay in manali. Great location, extreamly cozy rooms and best quality-tasty food in the region. The owners are very supportive and will guide you how to cover the whole area. Already looking foward to visit this place again.

Stayed here 3 Nights. Nice stay. Far from city noises. Cottages are well built. Actually built in Apple orchard. Has amenities like Parking for atleast 10 vehicles, gyser, TV, WiFi, home cooked food, heated mattress. Owners are too nice. Prices are negotiable.

People be alert while owning the rooms because there is no privacy no room service no cleaning.etc

And owner will always observe from our window's this is the extra befit for us.

Finally they will ask 12% extra for billing also.

This is the worst Cottage in Entire Manali.
Food is too expensive.
There will be no cleaning in rooms.very unhygienic.finally these guys are having Electronic Blankets which are totally unsafe to sleep.one of my friend got injured with that blankets.please don’t risk your life to stay in this particular cottage.

It’s according to the name extremely peaceful and happy to stay. Location is amazing. The food was awesome home cooked food. The view from the cottage is breathtaking.we stayed there in a cottage. It is amidst the apple orchard I stayed there for four night.

Stayed here for 3 nights from 11th March 2020 till 14th March 2020. We only rushed home early due to the growing COVID-19 situation back in the plains as we wanted to get back to Mumbai safe & sound.

About the property, me & my father roamed around in the outskirts of Manali for a full day and a half, scouting for a nice place and we were naturally attracted to Idyllic Inn for its extremely Idyllic location & the breathtaking vistas all around (refer my photos).

Deepika & Sanil Anand manage and run the place and are fine hosts.

Luckily for us, it snowed (briefly) the next morning and the place instantly turned into a Winter Wonderland.

Due to its location in the middle of a valley, cold dense air descends down the mountains (called katabatic winds) creating a freezing cold bowl. Luckily, Idyllic Inn has electric thermal mattresses to help against the cold.

The interiors are very clean, hygienic and up to standard. There’s a 24/7 solar water heater. Deepika cooks great food, especially Aloo Paratha and you can order from the inhouse menu. A cheaper alternative (weather permitting) is Durga Dhaba 5 mins walk down the road.

This is one of those places where you can just chill (literally & metaphorically) and be. There’s pin drop silence, great weather & stunning views all around.

Only thing I think can be improved upon is:
1. The thermal insulation of the room from the elements as there is a small but noticeable gap at the bottom of the doors which allows in the dense cold air filling the valley in the night making the room absolutely FREEZING inside.

2. No Wi-Fi & No Vodafone coverage in this area.

Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will absolutely come back here again.

Best place to stay and a very special thing is the mouth watering food served by the family owning the place!

I would give them a 5. Since the hospitality, service whatever everything is smooth. Location was a mid of apple farm with a view of ice topped mountains. Food was damn! Obviously the chicken was well and good. Rooms were well maintained and Restrooms too! (Mattress with heaters were damn for the temperature). Sanil and family made us a great team trip to Manali special thanks to them. <3

Perfect place to unwind yourself. Beautifully designed supreme quality cottages inside the apple orchard. Kids love the walk to river streak which is just 10 min away. Food is very good and people are extremely cosy. Overall an excellent place to stay for vacation in Manali.

Its always a wonderful feeling if you get a good place to stay when on a vacation, however its even more wonderful if you get some good souls as your host, thats exactly how we felt during our stay of 3 days. Sanil and family hosts this beautiful place in Manali which is perfectly located to cater to all your sightseeing needs and also gives you that much needed peaceful ambience with picturesque background. We were quite sure that the place looks beautiful from the pictures we saw, however what took us by surprise is the homemade food which was prepared at home by his mom. It was my second stay at Idyllic Inn and the experience was twice great this time. Great place, beautiful surroundings, apple & cherry orchids, a little away from town to indulge with nature. River, hiking and paragliding at a walking distance. I loved going for early morning walk doing bird photography and shooting stars at night. Driving to the nearby little explored villages on was a great experience.
Absolutely clean rooms, bed, towels and toilets. Iron and kettle in rooms added a layer of comfort. Awesome food and hospitality from the family. Three days and four nights passed away so early that it left me hungry for more holidays there.

Our stay in "The Idyllic Inn" was fabulous experience. We were stay there 5 nights for celebrating 50th Anniversary of our parents with all our 12 family members. We can say that "The Idyllic Inn" is the main attraction of our 8 day trip to Manali. The place is great, surrounded by Apple Trees, Great atmosphere, fully natural and managed by good team. They are so help full as your own family members. They are always ready to help you anything you want. They also organized surprise gift for my parents.
