Kalachakra temple

There was a different temple of Buddha at the busiest market of Dharmashala. You can go there and see a very big statue of Bhuddha was there.

The temple is beautiful, but is overshadowed by the ruckus of the adjacent road. It's a very short visit to the building which will finish in 10 minutes.in 3 floors, the building is adorned well, but spaces are narrow and just enough for the monks to move around.

Easy to find twixt the two main market streets. Climb up narrow stairs past colourful stupa, through door, onto roof and up stairs to little temple and VIEW!
Follow round the prayer wheels and chant clockwise, at street level.

It's a beautiful Buddhist temple located in the main market of Mcloedganj. It's a calm, peaceful place surrounded by the crowded market area but still it gives you amazing vibes and when you visit inside, it disconnects you from the outside city rush for a while. A must visit place in mcloedganj trip and should be added to everyone's bucket list.

Before reaching this place park your vehicle in the parking available there as here the parking space is limited moreover one way traffic may create the problem if you are going with own vehicle.

I don’t understand how people may find this peaceful… it’s surrounded by a open air market that brings everything but peace

Great experience. However, it would have been better if we would have parked at Dharmshala, taken the ropeway to McLeod Ganj, explored the bazaar and returned via ropeway.

This temple is a Buddhist temple. The faith of the temple here is very high. It is situated at Mcleodganj above Dharamshala there, Mcleodganj.

A beautiful temple/monastery dedicated to kalchakra. Just near the main McLeod Ganj market, probably the first place one would visit in Mcleodganj. It is surrounded by various shops. I didn't go inside, but the place looked extremely beautiful from the outside.

Must visit, right at the beginning of the McLeod Ganj market. Take the stair leading to the top. If you’re lucky, you’ll find it open.

This is a beautiful Buddhist Temple situated on Mall road at McLeod Ganj.
Although it is situated on the main road, it is good place for meditation.

Its small temple situated just in the middle of McLeod Ganj market. They have miniatures of different types of stupas and explained the significance of each.

This temple is kind of small monaestry. It's located in Mcleodganj main market. This place is full of peace and positive vibes. This place does not have ample space of parking which might be challenging if you are visiting this place by your car. You need 15-20mins to explore the place.

The Kalachakra temple is located inside the Thekchen Chöling temple complex in Mcleodganj in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh in India. The temple complex also houses the Namgyal monastery, the private chambers of his Holiness the Dalai Lama and the famous Tsuglakhang temple. Opened in the year 1992, the Kalachakra temple is a symbol of the concept in Buddhist religion known popularly as ‘The wheel of time’.
Kalachakra is a combination of two Sanskrit words Kāla (meaning: time) and Chakra  (meaning: wheel). Kalachakra is a notion that Buddhist philosophies and even the Hindu religion strongly believe in. According to this notion, Time is considered to be a cyclical concept whereby the timeline of the world is divided into certain ages or epochs and they repeat after one another in a circular pattern.
In the Buddhist tradition, there are important rituals associated with Kalachakra. At the temple, monks perform Kalachakra empowerment procedures that they believe would enhance the spirituality of the environment and further the cause of peace and harmony among human beings. Apart from being the site for Buddhist rites and rituals, the Kalachakra temple is also a regular venue for public meetings and discourses conducted by his holiness the Dalai Lama.

The temple is perhaps one of the best examples of Kalachakra-based architectural style. A huge mural adorns the wall and at the centre of the wall, the principal god of Buddhism – Shakayamuni Buddha is portrayed in a Kalachakra avatar. Surrounding the image of Shakayamuni are the frescos of seven hundred and twenty two deities. The Kalachakra consists of four aspects namely wisdom,  body,  mind and speech.  The image of the Buddha at the centre represents wisdom while the deities surrounding him represent body, mind and speech. It is reported that the Dalai Lama himself personally monitored the progress of the mural painting right from the start to finish.
The adjacent walls features the portraits of the 14th Dalai Lama and thirty two Shamblala kings of whom the first seven are called Maharajas (Great kings) and the rest are known as Kalkis. Images of Tibetan deities such as Guru Padma Sambhava, Milarepa, Palden Lhamo, Yamantaka, Atisha and Tsongkhapa can also be seen in this temple.

Beautiful multicolored temple. Located in the shopping Street. Small but peaceful place.vehicles are not allowed. Walking is the best option.

We liked the continuous chants and mantras of the monks at this place. It gives the feeling of divinity! We wanted to sit for sometime over there but couldn't due to lack of enough space

It is situated on mall road, exterior structure looks very beautiful and a lots of shades of colors has been used to color the temple but main entrance door being locked so you are unable to see interiors so the attraction of temple which brought you here will let you down, the temple is surrounded by lots of shops.

This is a buddhist temple on mall road. The Kalchakra temple is near Dalai Lama main temple in the Tsuglagkhang complex, which is also called as Dalai Lama temple complex.which is located on south west of McLeod ganj.

Beautiful Buddhist Temple near the Main Square at McLeod Ganj, HP. I was very privileged to have visited this beautiful Temple with my wife during our tour of Himachal Pradesh in Apr/May 2016 and will cherish the beautiful memories of this beautiful place always and forever.

Bring your water bottle with you. Holy place. Don't go in the river as water speed is unexpected.

Enroute the bhagsunag temple is this temple.situated right in the middle of the road.places is good.but than constant honking outside the temple will irritate you

This temple is located in main City on the street. It is not must visit place. If you have time you can visit this place for prayer and couple of click since it is having very good look.
