Road to kalatop is worst it's completely broken even after that struggle u will find nothing more than two restaurant that's it.
U also hv to pay 50 rupees idk why?

A nice and quiet place to go hiking. Starting from Lakkad Mandi, there is a 3km mud road surrounded by deodar trees, ending at Forest Rest House Kalatop.

The main attraction of this place is the hiking experience. It may not be worth visiting if you plan to take a car till FRH Kalatop because there is not much to see on the way or at the destination. If you are the kind of traveller who expect to get a view or see something at the destination, this place may disappoint you. But if you are someone who travel for experiencing, then this place is for you.

We had visited here in last week of December, 2022, and were lucky to experience our first ever snowfall (though a very slight one) from here.

There is bus service from Khajjiar at around 10-10.30am till Lakkad Mandi, and from there you can hike 3km till FRH Kalatop and then return.

Will not recommend this place.they charge u 250 for entry but there is nothing to see.only adventure activities

This forest is absolutely stunning with natural beauty, greenery, trees, fresh air and sound of birds. It's a beautiful place where people can proceed their journey to Khajjiar, Jot and Dainkund Peak or they can start trekking from the entry of Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary. Trekking is moderate but provides unreal views. Since this area is a wildlife sanctuary there is a threat of bears as well. Although it's a tourist area and safe in daylight. But people should be cautious that they are not alone (animals live here too) here and don't walk alone.

Nice wilderness. Though we couldn't site any birds or animals. Roaming through the woods was an experience in itself.

One of the finest and soul searching places in Himachal! Absolutely in love with the vibe of that place! Simply surreal! Wish to be back there soon

Good place to visit. Kalatop is near to Lakkadmandi in HP also called as snow point. This is a small place but good for time pass. There is a rope based adventure game also but we did not prefer this. On the day of our visit (22.1.21), luckily heavy snow fall occurred. It was the nice moment for me and my family. Earlier we had not seen falling ice. The way to Khajjiar is from Kalatop. As we proceeded for Khajjiar, our vehicle got struck in middle of Kalatop to Khajjiar due to heavy snow fall and we had to returned back on foot to hotel leaving our vehicle there. However, we enjoyed a lot with the climate.

Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary is a 30.69 km² animal  sanctuary at Kalatop and khajjiar  in the chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. The sanctuary area is well laid out for trekking trails both at Kalatop and khajjiar. There is a dense deodar and fir forest covering 19.63 km² of the sanctuary, which is about 6 km from Dalhousie.

Not much to see at the destination at the end of journey, however the journey itself on narrow road is a bit scary and thrilling.

I really loved the narrow road and the journey, beautiful snow covered forest. If u love nature do visit this place.

Just thick forest en route and a beautiful garden and sun set point, apart from few snack center and a good quality adventure park. All in all can soare one full day and if ready to be solitary at night, few rooms also available. Serene view and silence

Treaking was good. Should have started earlier. We didn't completed the treak as it got darker and started raining.

Absolutely loved going here in June. The forest is absolutely beautiful. Most beautiful forest I've ever been to! There are food areas in it from where you can eat Himachal food. It was also very cold in some areas and blood also froze a little bit. I would recommend bringing a jacket with you. View was wonderful. Also Lootera movie was shot here. Overall, Loved it!

I really like the place with its wilderness and calmness. There is a variety of wild animals in the forest too. So o e should take care of this fact, don't go to jungle alone when you visit the kalatop.there you can find leopards and bear in the forest. Although it is good place to chill but you should be aware of wild animals there.

Good place but gipsy not worth paying more than 600 inr as duration of safari is short. Place is good. Must visit

That's literally a beautiful place to visit. You should visit there atleast once. This place takes you close to nature

I really liked the place. If you want to have a breath of freshest air. Then this is the place. There are also adventurous activities conducted there included rappling and ziplining etc.

Apart from the view it commands and the road one has to take to reach it, there is not much to look forward to the actual destination. Kalatop has canteens and a adventure sport of zip line. The journey to the top is however breath taking. Devdar tees surround us on all sides and the deafening sound of hill side cricket adds to the charm of the forest trail. Car service takes you all the way to the top which is a good 3 kms from the gate.

Great place if you visit with a tour guide, or you would only see trees and not appreciate their significance. The local people can tell you the story behind each one of those.

You have to drive 3 kilometers in first gear to find out that there's nothing to see. Disappointed! But you could feel better if you go by foot.

A beautiful place with excellent views. U can stay overnight to fully experience the natural beauty. Trekking trails are good.

Nyc place to go there for adventure and eating point u can go by walk and by small car.adverture activity is not so much just a small 7 activity are there

There is nothing to be seen as such other than going to the top and eating tea and snacks. But if you go to the top by walking, you will feel quite different. It is 3 kms of walking, however u can go by car also, in that case u have to pay RS 250 in the gate. There is bunglow, where the shooting for a Bollywood film Lootera happened.

As such there is nothing to do here except some basic activities which you can get to do in Khajjiar in a better way. There is a 3 km trek, where Omni Van and Sumo are permitted to take the tourists for the ride. View all around the place is good, but prefer going uphill to Daina Kund, it will be better option among the two.

Nothing great, no animals to see - birds and animals go in hiding on hearing engine or human noise. Not worth a visit, unless one has never ever been to a hill.

If you are nature lover. You should visit Dalhousie, himachal Pradesh. It's beautiful place to visit.

It's not just this forest but the every forest in the north has a smell of it's own that differs from one another. To note that the air is so so so filled with everything a human lungs need that it can't find in the city life. To see the wild life it is so happening and eye catchy not in just this forest but in the whole northern part of India

We when there just for few hours. The rooms are better then railway station with attached bath. We never expected more within this price. If you are early for a train and wanted to spend few hours this is not a bad option

Good experience of forest and Nature on a 3 km ride. It's quite easy trekking which can also be done by car with an extra fees of 250rs. There are forest rest houses which can be rented to experience nature closely and a small village at the end which host some fun activities, food and a view point.

Such a calm and beautiful forest.forest lover do come and have a wonderful experience.enjoy tea and pakodas in cold weather. I simply love this place.
