काठगढ़ महादेव मंदिर हिमाचल प्रदेश के कांगड़ा जिले में स्थित है। पंजाब और हिमाचल प्रदेश की सीमा पर स्थित यह दुनिया का एकमात्र शिव मंदिर है, जहां शिवलिंग दो भागों में बंटा हुआ है। यहां महादेव के अर्धनारीश्वर रूप की पूजा की जाती है, ऐसा माना जाता है कि शिव के ये दो रूप अपने आप अलग हो जाते हैं और फिर विलीन हो जाते हैं।

काठगढ़ महादेव मंदिर दुनिया का एकमात्र ऐसा मंदिर है जहां का शिवलिंग दो भागों में बंटा हुआ है यानी आधा हिस्सा महादेव का और दूसरा आधा हिस्सा पार्वती का।

कांगड़ा जिले के इंदौरा उपमंडल में स्‍थापित काठगढ़ महादेव मंदिर काफी रहस्‍यमयी है। दावा है कि इस मंदिर में विराजमान शिवलिंग दुनिया का पहला ऐसा श‍िवलिंग है जो दो भागों में विभाजित है। इसके एक भाग को शिव तो दूसरे को मां पार्वती का रूप माना जाता है। बता दें कि मंदिर में स्‍थापित शिवलिंग अष्‍टकोणीय है। शिव के रूप में पूजे जाने वाले शिवलिंग की ऊंचाई तो 8 फुट है वहीं माता पार्वती के रूप में पूजे जाने वाले हिस्‍से की ऊंचाई 6 फुट है।
काठगढ़ शिव मंदिर में दो भागों में विभाजित शिवलिंग को अर्द्धनारीश्‍वर शिवलिंग कहा जाता है। कहा जाता है कि जैसे माता पार्वती भोलेनाथ के आधे अंग पर विराजती हैं वैसे ही इस शिवलिंग में भी वह विराजमान हैं। यूं तो यह शिवलिंग दो भागों में अलग-अलग रहता है। लेकिन सर्दी के मौसम में यह दोनों करीब आ जाते हैं। यह कैसे होता इस बारे में केवल यही कहा जाता है कि ग्रहों की स्थिति के अनुसार ही शिवलिंग पास और दूर होते हैं।

Very good temple near Pathankot lord Siva temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord siva and this is also a peaceful place also. It includes one beautiful garden.

A old shiva temple having shivlingam of height approx 8 feet. Having a story that Shiv aparts in summer and unites in winter.

Such a peaceful place it is. Hitting the place from main highway NH44 is more convenient rather than taking the internal roads.
