Best place for trekking for intermediates during April.bit of snow in april makes the trek little bit risky.

It seems amazing in winters as per the reviews.

There are two routes. 1. From the dam entrance via kalga and 2. From the kheerganga base barsheni they say.

Prefer the one from Dam entrance at barsheni via Kalga. It a short one and blisfully beautiful. It has water streams which make it cool and no direct sun.

The other one from the kheer ganga base barsheni is long and tiring. Direct sun makes it more tiring.

The view up there was not great at this time of the year. Infact the view was very ordinary.

But the hot water kund was a stress buster. Infact the only thing making the trek worth.

Avoid booking tents on websites. There are hundreds of them managed by locals at the base. One can get it cheaper at the spot than the websites. Websites charge you 500 p.p but one can get the entire tents at 300-600 accomodating 4 5 people. We stayed at woodland tents/camps. They have good food and common area with tandoor to chill.

Stick and Hiking shoes are must. U get shoes at the cafe at the dam entrance at Rs. 50 on rent, Stick at Rs. 30 and Rs. 50 for keeping your baggage at the cafe. Avoid carrying heavy baggage. Just your essentials.

Try to start your trek as early as possible. It took us 3.5 hours to reach. Try to get it started by 10.30 to avoid the sun and to spend the evening at base.

P.s. While returning dont miss the kalga diversion. If you choose barsheni way, you will be facing the sun for next 3 hours and might end up spending hundreds on detan. ;) If it matters.

One of the best tracks for beginners. Quite easy to do and you will a village in between the track which is really amazing. You can check their lifestyle and they way everything is there. The aura the ambience and beauty of the nature won't stop to amaze you. At the top you will find the nature at its best. There is a hot geyser which is definitely a spot to enjoy in the morning.

There are two options to reach kheerganga. One is 13km and the other one is 9km trek. Prefer taking 13 km one because it's save. Multiple small shops you will find in between.

Prefer having proper hike shoes and stick. The place is amazing.

Suggested time for starting the trek is before 1 pm as it takes around 5-6 hours to complete the trek and in night the visibility becomes 0 and it becomes very dangerous to trek. Also do take a guide otherwise there is a chance you might get lost. Take a camp after reaching up. Do not prebook as they charge extra and camps are easily available at the top. If you can carry, do take eatables with you as the prices are very high. The coffee which you get at INR 10 down will be of INR 100. A very simple meal will also cost INR 200. Same goes for breakfast. Now try to get up early in the morning and go for a bath in the hot water spring at the foot of the temple. It is a heavenly feeling, taking a bath in the hot water spring amidst snow. Then go to the temple as well. There is a story why it is called KheerGanga. Start moving down as early as possible as if it gets hot in the afternoon it will be difficult on the path. Also try to take a different path from what you took for climbing up. There are 3 possible pathways. It also takes 4-5 hours to climb down.

Literally this place is heaven. The joy starts from the point you get down the bus. The mountain ranges, covered with clouds.
We went in March and luckily we could witness live snowfall two times. The 14 trek is very enjoyable as it includes waterfalls, forest, and beautiful views. On the top there are camps where bonfire, food, music, cafes and what not. Plus the amazing part is that there is a place at the top where natural hot water comes from the mountain and people bath in it.
Once in lifetime, the trip to this place is a must.

Route: Barshaini-Nakthan-Rudranaag-Kheerganga
I was in terk with a group named "Wonderon". Kheer Ganga isn't a easy trek in winter. There are lot of hard ice on the trekking route. Sometimes it's not to easy to distinguish between icy and normal road, so if you go on the ice, there is a high chance of getting down, It's very slippery. Wear a good trekking shoe otherwise it very hard to climb. I wore a Nike sports shoes and it was very different for me to walk on frozen road. Sometimes I was thinking to return back.
There were two landslide, some icy-roads and a small falls, you can think it as your obstacles. It's a long route of 14km+14km (up+down). So atlast take 2days in hand for Kheer Ganga trek.
I love mountains, so every turn is beautiful for me and I don't have words to explain kheer Ganga. It was like a heaven for me.

Amazing place. Must visit. Always in snow. There's a Lord Shiva temple there and also there's hot water spring where we can take shower. They provide tend arrangements for tourists.

I loved this place, although locals there said the place wasn't so fun anymore with the new set of Govt.rules that have been set regarding the cleanliness of the place & that you had a set of strict rules to follow. The trek was a bit challenging common for a first time trekker, it takes a lot of energy & will power to make it to the top within 5 hours. The views on the way were mindblowing & overall stay there was an experience I'll never forget. Also, don't forget to take a dip in the holy Parvati kund, it's totally worth an experience!

Awesome trekking place. You should go there, even I want to go there again. And kindly don't throw garbage here and there (water bottles, plastic etc etc), keep it with you. When you will Come back to your hotel please throw it in dustin. Keep the area clean so that the inhabitants (peoples, animals) who lives there so that they can live their life cleanly and plastic free. And an important thing, a boy name tito who live at the top of kheerganga, he is very good, kind, humble, I can't explain in words. Thanks tito for giving us a shelter that day otherwise a friend of mine had died there. I owe you. See you soon ️

We were 6 friend tracking on round way of kheerganga track. It was a memorial movement for me. When start from bottom we were energetic so start very fast but after that we found that it take very long time about 5 hour to track 12 km distance. We had an experienced of tracking on mcleodgang so we took some item from bottom as when we went to above price of same product would become high. When we reach at kheerganga it was about 8 pm so, we start camping. Its cost was about 400 due to off season. Temp was about 10°c.
On morning we take bath at parvati kund its hot water spring. The temp is convenient to take bath during this cool season. During return it took around 3hour to retur the kasol

16 kilometer trek to Kheerganga is an amazing experience. You could see streams, canopy of trees, taste fresh apples, and scenic beauty. At the top of the mountain you could experience chilled breeze. There is a hot spring in the mountain top and taking bath in the water makes you energetic. As the place is commercalised you could get food and there is availability of toilet facilities. The major concern is with the tourists who litter the Himalayas by throwing the plastics bottles and snacks packets which dampen the pristine environment.

This is a good place with fantastic location.not ideal for food.prices are very high and quality not.

Himachal is known for its beauty and Kheerganga located near Kasol is such a beautiful place. It will leave you speechless. An 11-12 km trek one side and very interesting one, on your way to the top you get to see local people and how calmly they are going up or coming down. While trekking you get a chance to enjoy Maggie while looking at the mesmerising waterfall or mountains. You might need a stick to carry yourself if you are not so fond of trekking but I can assure that you will make it to the top. Will also suggest you to carry a water bottle along and you can fill it from small small waterfalls on the way to Kheetganga. There is a small temple there at the top and you also have a hot water kund nearby to the temple. You can sit there and bath in it as well.
Kheerganga is a very very beautiful place to be and you are going to love it from the core.
Nothing I reckon nothing is like it is here in Kheerganga.

If you ever been to kalga please do visit to kheerganga trek it's very trail of 9kms. We trek besides Parvati river. And once you reach to kheerganga you'll definitely love the place.

One of the best places I have visited so far, it was an amazing experience. The night sky was something to be seen there. The kheer ganga trekk was something to be experienced for sure. As u have to trek for 12km for kheerganga from DAM and as it is said "journey is always beautiful than the destination" is a quote for the kheerganga.the trek has such beautiful views in his way that u cant even imagine of. The bridges above parvaty vally shows you the follow of the water which according to me is 200 miles/per hour.u need to go through forest where its written be aware of bears.but you dont need to worry there are 1k tourist which trek kheerganga everyday.remember whenever you go for trekking kheerganga take a small bag with you in which you can keep the things u need.

A best place in lap of hills. After a long tracking u can reach to the kheer ganga then get a bath in the hot spring. This bath is like magic which help to overcome the tiredness. A place to visit.

Nice place to trek with friends. Approx 13 km trek to reach the peak point of kheerganga. Ultimate part of trek was hot water spring which gives relieve to your legs nd the view of peak point which will automatically heal ur pain.
