KOMIC World's Highest Village

Komic is the world’s highest motorable village which is a very remote village that offers a great panoramic view. There are very few people who stay here and they stay in mud houses which is a construction speciality of the area.
The road condition to reach here is good than expected.
The village is so remote that we couldn't find a single shop on route.
There is one small monastery as well.

Went on a bike trip and stopped here to do a bucket list check on a coffee at the highest restaurant. What coffee, what view! It’s an experience I will cherish for the rest of my life! India’s got a lot to offer! I wish I had realised sooner

Komik is located at a distance of around 18 kilometers from the town of Kaza which was once the district head quarters of the Spiti Valley. One time visit place there is nothing to like or dislike the place as u are in Kaza what else u will do.

Was chilly when there were clouds.

World's highest post office at Hikkim, is about 14k feet high. You can get post card and send it to your loved ones.

Komic which literally means “eye of a snow cock” (Ko – snowcock, mic – eye), is a remote village in Spiti valley, its around 2kms from Hikkim village. Komic village is situated at an height 15027 feet above sea level. Like most of the villages in Spiti valley, most of the residents of Komic practice Budhism. There is the beautiful monastery, This is known as The Tangyud Monastery (also written bTang-rGyud, Tangyuth) or Sa-skya-gong-mig Gompa. It is one of the highest altitude gompas (monasteries) in India, this monastery has a history of 800yrs old

Komic has one of the highest motorable roads, at an altitude of 14400 ft, and even has the world’s highest post office. Reportedly, 101 people were vaccinated above 60 years of age, and 150 residents were vaccinated twice between 44-50 years. News has it that the youngsters of Komic village are upbeat about getting vaccinated.

Wao, it’s beautiful. The sky was clear. We got lunch at the highest restaurant in the world.

It is small village with beautiful terrain. Top of the peak is almost flat that gives you a awesome view. We visited the place in October first week but I can imagine the beauty of it after snowfall. Village is too beautiful.

Good and Clean Road from Kaza. Easily accessible on HRTC Bus (limited service). Time is needed to adjust. Cafe is decent for mid meals.

Food is delicious. Pan cakes are awesome! The rates are very high, but that is expected. No bathrooms available

This village is at road dead-end. Strong winds, cold weather in July. You can have food at World's highest restaurant/Cafe here run by Monastery.

A must visit village as it is one of the check boxes in the Spiti circuit being the highest motorable village in the world. You can set up you own camp after taking permission from the monastery. Also, one should keep hydrating themselves as it is at a very high altitude and you may have altitude sickness.

Amazing landscape, good place to be but do not stay there for more than 10-15 mins else you will catch altitude sickness as the oxygen level is low at this altitude.

One of the best experience I ever had. Took bikes and went. It was one hell of a ride. Would recommend bikes and there will be no signal to use ur mobiles. So download the maps before hand.

Very beautiful place but some people feeling breathlessness because of the altitude please drink plenty of water and have some diamox medicine with u in case of emergency while roaming around this place.

Very peaceful place, but we prepared for hight latitude sickness, try to walk as slowly as you can it will help you to breathe proper, and ya enjoy the view, try to taste local mutter from villagers if you found any seller

Komic is just a name to a small village at the mountain top. But, the journey to reach here and the views that you encounter are breathtaking and just too beautiful to describe.

One of the best place visited, the road from Kaza to Komic is good for 7km from there it's complete offroading. But a great experience.
