Stayed with family in Aug 2023. Motorable road. Amazing view. Homely service and awesome food.

View were awesome from the rooms especially from the Balcony, owners very polite and provide the food & service just feels like home. Special mention for the care taker & chef Mr. Rajesh, very attentive, hardworking & provides the service swiftly along with the delicious snacks n food.
Rooms were clean n hygienic, just one the needs to be updated and that was the geyser. They are too small.

Excellent homestay owned and managed by the warmest people. Spacious rooms with all amenities, and lovely apple orchards and dogs all around the property. Sharmaji, Banita Ji, & Rajesh were extremely welcoming! The food is simple and homely. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful homestay amidst nature with a breathtaking view. Owner is very polite and helpful. It really feels like a home away from home. There are several nearby beautiful and serene tracking routes. Foods are freshly cooked, homely and tasty. Room is beautiful, spacious and clean. Overall, a must go place if you are in shimla/ kufri/fagu and want to enjoy nature closely.

Staying here was the best decision we could have taken. The homestay is located at and amazing place with a beautifully view of the mountains. Being east facing, you wake up to the sunrise everyday.
Sharma's truly treats you like family. We stayed here for a week and loved every minute of it.
They take care over your smallest needs without even asking for it. They make arrangements keeping in mind from where you're traveling and what you will need from a temperature and comfort standpoint.

I had the opportunity to be treated to gracious himachali hospitality thanks to Banita Sharma & her lovely family. This property is very comfortable with superb views. Their pet Labrador doggie is super loving & adorable and doesn’t disturb the guests. There are several dogs in the area, and all are very well behaved. They have a huge apple orchard and you get a tour of it. There are numerous apple orchards in the area too which adds to the beauty of this town. One can get authentic Himachali home cooked food, which is delicious. I was invited inside their charming 150-year-old Himachali mud & slate home and was offered a meal in their kitchen. The coolest aspect was I got to sit at the open balcony of their himachali house & enjoyed hues and colours changing in the sky & surroundings through the passing moments.
If it's Fagu, this is a must-visit destination for travellers, and you'll have a wonderful time. Strongly suggest a visit for an authentic himachali experience.

Breathtaking views!

Well at first while going down to find the place i was quite confused if i am in the right place, but once i went 2 kms from the main road, you end up at this beautiful house surrounded by apple orchards. The hosts were the sweetest people I've even met who took it as their priority to constantly make us feel comfortable.

The views from the room is something else when you wake up. Room was spacious and clean with enough sunlight and air coming in at all time.

Overall complete satisfaction with the stay and their owners.

We stayed at Madhusudan homestay between 1st-5th May 2022. The homestay is nestled between thick devdar forest on one side and lush apple orchards in a peaceful village. The host Mr Sharma and his family are wonderful people who were extremely kind and cordial. They not only took care of a very pleasant stay but also provided it a very personal touch. They allowed us access to their apple orchards where we spent a great deal of our time. The location is very convenient and well connected by road. In all, it was a memorable stay and We are looking forward to visit again very soon.

The room was very nicely decorated, impeccably clean and excellent views from the room. The washroom was also excellent with 24 hours hot water facility and too clean.

The owner Mr Sharmaji is very humble person forever ready to help with any query. They served hot food along with tea or coffee as needed. The full family is very nice.

We were three girls taking a short trip to Himachal and we had a very pleasant and safe stay here. The homestay is not only located in a gorgeous place but also hospitality is good, place is clean and tidy. Best part is the pet dog Zephyr who is an absolute blessing to have around. Definitely going back to stay here!

This place feels so homely. Great home made food, lovely scenic views and yet one of the cleanest and well maintained place you’ll come across. Everyone is welcoming and warm and you wouldn’t want to leave once you stay here. You get great apple orchards and mountain views from the window. We landed up extending our stay by couple of days, we just couldn’t get enough. I’m sure we’ll return soon next year and make a visit here.

Lovely homestay. 2 kms downhill from Fagu Bus stop. Probably located at a place called Talai. Amazing spot to enjoy with family. Cottage type wooden rooms with all amenities having no-barrier sightseeing.you can witness sunrise from your bed. The property has an open space for sitting, apple orchards, hilly terrain for some hiking and spectacular views of Kinnaur Kailash mountains. Best part is there's a separate hilly portion some 300 mtrs away so you can enjoy and play in the snow during snowfall privately since there's less crowd in the interiors. The owners are a decent family who took care of us in the best possible way. And they served us delicious home cooked food that had the purity of the mountains. We just loved our stay throughout. Would definitely visit again.

By far the best Homestay i have ever visited!
We were 2 people and booked a 2 night stay in this beautiful village of Talai. We had planned to reach by noon, but due to heavy snow, and road blockade all transports were closed, however, Vikas specially arranged a 4×4 for us and we made it by 7pm. We had the warmest welcome by B k Sharma ji and his beautiful wife. The best part of this stay was the food, luckily we got to have aunty's special homemade meals which were just delicious!
The view from the room is so exquisite, you can see the entire valley and experience the most breathtaking sunrise. There is availability of hot water and heater as well. You can also take a 2 km trek to the pine forest and bazaar. This place is far from the main city and if you want to experience peace and solace away from hussle bussle of city then this is just the place!

5 stars to the host Sharmaji. Extremely soft spoken, helpful and very polite. Took us around the apple orchads, advised on best places to visit in and around. The service was above and beyond our expectations. Food was tasty and at very reasonable prices. The cottage itself was spacious, neat and well kept.

I stayed here for a week and it was an amazing experience. The location was just perfect - not in the main city and not too far from the city. Excellent experience, mesmerizing views from the room windows and open verandah, spacious rooms & hygienic washrooms; warm hosting with lovable people giving personal touch to everything & fulfilling all our requirements of daily needs; don't remember getting a better cook than Rajesh who cooked practically whatever we requested for. Icing on cake was the temperature which was around 15-20 degree which was much lower than main Shimla and majority of the other famous hill stations.

Overall one of the best experiences in decent prices, cant wait to get there again!

When I came here in February, I felt very cold here due to which Sharma ji gave me the heater. We felt the best part was that when the bonfire was done at night, we enjoyed it. Sharma ji is very helpful and the homemade food made here is very good. This has been a very good stay of my life.

We were here for 2 days and it was a wonderful stay. Rooms are very good with the wooden interior and washroom are also quite big. Owner of this homestay Mr. Sharma is very nice host & helpful. Food is also very good just like home made & you can also have traditional Himachali food. Tea, Coffee & Milk for children everything you ll get. If you want to stay in a peaceful & beautiful location then it is a perfect place for you. Location for snowfall is perfect and you can take a drive to Kufri & Narkanda from here.

We visited Fagu during 27th-30th Nov, 2020 and stayed at Madhusudan Homestay and Mr. Sharmaji’s place.
Vikas, their son was extremely helpful and friendly. He ensured that we reached safely and had made all the necessary arrangements. The home stay was very neat and spacious and cosy, despite single degree temperature outside. The food, cooked by Vikas’ mother herself, was extremely delicious. We also had access to Internet as well as bonfire on all the three nights that we stayed there - again a plus point.
Moreover, they also had provision for other entertainment activities such as karaoke.
The Sharma family guided us with respect to the nearby places that we could visit and also planned a detailed tour of their Apple farm.
Overall, the owners were extremely warm and hospitable and the home stay definitely has a repeat value!

I really miss every second that i spend there, Mr& Mrs Sharma really took care of me like one of their family member. They make sure always that im comfortable. I stayed here for two nights and three days. This place not only turned out as I saw in the pictures on Airbnb, it also turned out to be very homely, absolutely safe (no locks used on door during entire stay of my solo trip). There are multiple dogs in the vicinity and none of them bother humans, at all. There are many apple orchards around. The view from my room was not just beautiful. Calling it beautiful would be an understatement. It was spectacular. The best thing I felt here was the cedar wood essence used in the rooms. The moment I entered I loved it. It gives you this feeling of freshness. Add to it the wooden interior of the room and you have a blissful experience awaiting. The hosts and his family are amazingly welcoming, well behaved and very enthusiastic in their manner of approach and handling requests. It appears they genuinely want your presence and comfort. They even have you come over to the cute little Himachali kitchen and have your breakfast. They serve you very well. The bathroom is very very clean. The best part is how the scenery around changes its hues and colour throughout the day and the view from the room becomes mind-numbingly dope.
If it's Fagu, this place is a must try for travellers. I recommend this place.

I went there on 22nd December 2018, with my family. They are very kind people, with lots of love to spread to the guests. I was overwhelmed with their hospitality. If I visit Fagu again, it is sure that I'll stay at Madhusudan Homestay.

This is one place which will remain etched in my mind forever. The family was extremely friendly. We had two great evenings here, with bonfire & music which obviously added up to the experience.  The service, ambience, food and hospitality can't be found in 5 star hotel. Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for Vikas & his family, who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!

The place is wonderful.
Its really home away from home.
They served us delicious and homely food.

The exotic apple orchards, the serene ambiance, punctuality and the decency of the hosts gave us a wonderful and comfortable stay.

A home stay in the midst of nature surrounded by hills, forests & fruit orchards (apples, apricots etc). During June, days are pretty warm but evenings are cool to cold. If it rains then it becomes cold in the day too. Thick Chaili forest nearby is amazing with a temple deep in the forest. One can also undertake a small trek to the top of the forest. Hatu Temple near Narkanda (~70 kms.) at a height of 11000+ feet takes you to the top of the world giving an amazing view of nature's glory all around. There is a local river with rocks also nearby though we could not visit unfortunately. A perfect place for relaxation away from the mad crowds of Shimla or any other town. Owners are very warm, hospitable & enthusiastic. Do not expect luxuries, it is a home stay & not a hotel. Neat bed sheets, blanket etc & clean toilet. Home made vegetarian food - dal, subzi, roti & rice with home made cow ghee, cucumber salad & curd/raita served with love and affection. Non-vegetarian dish is custom made as per demand. Milky Tea is served in room as & when required. Tasty Breakfast of stuffed parantha & curd /pickles or eggs & toast is also available.

Mr. B C Sharma is the owner of the property and Vikas (his son) is the brain behind this beautiful piece of grand hospitality. Mr. Sharma's wife is very nice person and an awesome cook. This is a vegetarian family but they have hired a cook to cater to non-vegetarian guests. The property is located 2.5 kms down the highway. You need to pass Hotel Apple Blossom which would be on you right if you are coming down from Kufri and drive 2 kms towards Theog and take the narrow road that goes down on your right. You need to keep an eye on this road.
Vikas is a good manager and his parents are very good hosts.
If your objective is to escape the hustle and bustle of Shimla and find peace and serenity, then this is the place for you.
Its around 20 kms from the Mall road and if the traffic on the Kufri road is not much, then you will be here within 30 minutes only.
If you like to drink and smoke, then you need to carry it yourself as you won't find it here within a radius of 2.5 kms.
I strongly recommend this place and will definitely come here again and again.

Madhusudan homestay - what a great find! Superb rooms, amazing views, cut-off from the hustle bustle of the city, peaceful and safe - but the highlight of the trip were the wonderful hosts, Sharmaji, his ever smiling wife and Ammaji. From the moment we entered their house, we were very well taken care of and all our requests were instantly looked after. The family really does not have the word "No" in their dictionary. Mrs. Sharma is a great cook and she lovingly served us delicious home cooked himachali food. Sharmaji and his wife, both were great to talk to and we got a real feel of living in a Himachali village. Sharmaji even gave us a tour of his apple orchards. Overall, a great experience living with the Sharma family at Madhusudan homestay. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended.
