Maya cafe is very good place to stay in chalal. You have to walk for nearly 2km to reach their from kasol bus stand (looks like a tri junction of roads) but it is worth if you're looking for a pocket friendly place to stay. The rooms are neat and clean, hot water for bathing also available, Food is also good especially the coffee, Jeera aloo, Maggie, fried rice and kadai paneer. Price of food is also good as compared to other places in that area. The owner is a very good person and the other staff's are also good and humble. View from the rooms are awesome you can see huge mountains an dense forest. Cellular reception Airtel and Jio (4G)

Service is slow, but food was okay after a long walk along the river. Maggi is the best option.
