Monkbase Cafe and Hostel

Never had a better room for a perfect sunrise. Insane view.
The service was fast and quick.
The food is homely and warm and delicious.
Get the private room if you can. I swear its worth it.

I love this place and I keep coming back here. Staff, location and ambience everything is top notch. View from rooms and even from cafe is amazing. Must visit and if you stay here it's even better.

I would prefer "Cafe Monkbase" compare to "Rocky's Cafe".
If you like the isolated place apart from crowdy atmosphere then must visit this cafe.
Must try 'Chicken Tikka Nd Margerita Pizza'. If you are a coffee person then try it.

Amazing place, amazing staff, amazing food, to top it all, the best view in Manali. It's a mini adventure reaching here but the place is worth it. Owner Ramneek is a pretty cheerful guy and will tell you stuff to do around! Must Visit when in Old Manali!

The cafe has a great combination of breathtaking view and amazing food. You can dine on the terrace, witnessing beautiful waterfalls on the other side. The hospitality is also warming. The cutest kitty, Reo, is another reason why you should definitely visit this place.

It was my best stay in manali, staff there is certainly very cooperative friendly and helpful. Rooms with balcony have amazing view from Old Manali to Valleys. Food is really tasty and delicious, I didn’t went in any other cafe to have my breakfast dinner. Overall, it was great staycation if you’re wfh then good to go with this.

Best place ever i stayed in manali, excellent stay experience, very beautiful view from rooms from top of old manali gives a view of jugni waterfall and full manali. Peaceful place away from rush and traffic, nicely maintained open lounge available with music and dining very helpful staff special thanks to VIKAS for the wonderful experience at manali he helped in all terms starting our journey from home to manali, site scenes, arranged rental two wheeler for local run, excellent food taste like home,

Neatly maintained hostel with quite a lot number of dorm as well as rooms. Common area is having an excellent ambience. Variety of food menu is also very much appreciable. It might to be difficult to reach by walk as it is in old Manali

They were extremely accommodating and allowed me to check in early at like 5: 30am. I got to hotel super early and I didn’t wanna wait. So this was a big plus. The sevice was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there?

Awesome place with awesome view. Beautiful ambience. Hospitality is too good and it is all because of Vikas. Enjoyed alot and vikas helped us alot in each and everything here.

Great place to pend the day gazing at the mountains. Comes with a special view and the food is also pretty tasty. Fast wifi. Only downside was no machhined americano. Hope they sort that out soon!

Loved the view here. Though we went in the evening. The food takes thoda time to come but it's nice.

Since I cannot give zero star, I am forced to give one. When we checked in the room was not cleaned at all. The sheets and pillow covers were not replaced after the previous occupant (sorry I can't say guests, they don't treat so). There were dirty stains on the sheets and pillow cover (Photos attached), imagine putting your face and body on it. There was a continuous seepage of water and the floor was always wet. Bathroom was smelling and dirty. Worst part is that there was one man cleaning the toilet and serving the food. They bluntly refused any room service. Even for a glass which was missing in the room, we are supposed climb 3 floors to the reception and get it. Location is unimaginable. No cabs agree to go there, if they do, they charge Rs 400/- for the last 1 Km. No one helps you with your luggage. Owner is extremely arrogant. I was bitten by insects at 3 places on the body while sleeping. I had to kill a scorpion and a big spider inside the room. This is definitely not a place for decent people and family.

Beautiful stay in the Beautiful town of Manali. Very warm hospitality and services. You can enjoy the unforgettable view of Manali from both the rooms and cafe. The stay becomes better altogether with the delicious food. Their menu has a wide variety and everything tastes just as amazing.

Worst stay ever.they charge like a standardised hotel but maintainence n cleanliness is just zero. Rooms given were d dirtiest possible, bedspread stains remained, bed sheets is not changed, stains on pillow remains. Rooms not cleaned, insects even found a scorpion. No professionals, owner has his own answers n attitude. Guy who cleans d toilet, same hands he comes out n cleans d bed n next minute he comes to serves d food too.no procedure or checklist followed before giving d room or after checkout.worst experience, even basic hygiene is missing. Dorm is the worst of all, double cot room is coverted to a 6 bed dorm n charges per bed goes beyond room rate.

I went for a workation in 2020 here, and this place will be always very close to my heart. Imagine waking up early in the morning and you will melt in the view outside your baclony. This hostel is situatued in the top ahead of Manu Temple, and has some breahttaking views of Jogini Waterfall and Vashisht. Food - Everything you eat here is made with love and care, the staff is so kind and always there for you even if you have a minor requests like bonfire night.lol. Yeah I've done that!
The owner Jacky had become like this brother who always welcomed people with his warm smile. Loved every bit of my stay at this place.

Good food for reasonable price (all kind), great ambiance, live music was going on when we were there on a Friday night. Places to sit inside and outside with amazing view. And really nice people with good hospitality behaviour! Go there!

Perfect place, far away from the hustle bustle of citylife and with an awesome view of the mountains beckoning you every morning and night! The host Jacky is an amazing gentleman who makes you feel at home immediately and you wouldnt feel like you are staying far away from your home, rather an extended version of your home.even the manager, Vikas and the other staff members are very very helpful. The Live Music nights are kickass and simply fantastic!

Monkbase is an amazing property located outside of the hustle bustle of Old Manali. The property offers an amazing view of the snow capped mountains right from your room's balcony. The cafe ambience and food is also amazing. Jackie is an amazing host who cares for all your requirements. There is a cute little dog called Shawn as well who will keep you entertained when you are sitting in the cafe. Must visit place when you are in Old Manali.

This hostel is definitely the best place to stay at in Manali. Trust me when I say so as I'm also a hostel owner (Nomad House Pondicherry). The whole team is there to make sure each and every guest is taken care of. The staff is polite, humble and ready to help us. Honestly it would take me too much time to give all the reasons why this is the best place and I wouldn't want to spoil anything. But if there were a couple of things I would have to highlight, it would the cleanliness of the place, the comfort of the beds, the food in the cafe, but above all that, the view from the place itself is by far the best one you can have from any hostel or guest house as far as I know. The road to the place is also more accessible than many other properties. I will definitely come back to Manali just to stay at this place.

I went Monkbase cafe last month, the host were amazing. I really liked the location and ambience.
If anyone want to spend some quality time with partner or solo this would be place you are looking for.

Awesome food with even better views of Manali. The owner Jackie is fellow Mumbaikar and has created a nice place to hangout, chill and meet new folks.

Last week I had trip to Manali from hectic schedules of Mumbai.
I wanted to relax and have good time. So I stayed for a week in Monkbase Cafe and Hostel. I had decided to WFH for 2 3 days from there itself.
They have very good 50mbps internet connection which did not cause any trouble in my office work. I think this is the best thing you wish when you go for workation.
The rooms, beds and toilets very very clean and hygine is maintained upto the mark.
The owners Ramneek and jackey are always happy to help you. They make you feel comfortable and they looks after your all needs.
Apart from hostel, they have very good cafe from which I ordered almost everyday. Mexican food is very tasty. Highly recommended.
