The experience at The North Moon (Fagu) home stay was ultimate and beyond words. The hospitality including food was best.

One of best homestay, where i stayed till date.a sweet n down to earth family runs this place, they are so humble and polite, they made me believe that indeed nature gives you more happiness than materialistic things, and they themsalves are the real example of that.the room, the food, the vibe of this place is worth and it gives you the real relief and heal your city life wounds in true manner.

Just what i needed. Northmoon has its own charm, be it the rooms, the views, the hosts everything is just perfect. I left northmoon with a heavy heart but a promise to come back as soon as i can. Thank you for your hospitality.

• Great Hosts: - The entire family makes you feel like home, they feel like your own.

• Great Food: - You can taste the Himachal's essence in the food, the dishes are more than welcoming for a foodie.

• Great Location: - The orchid farm, the scenic mountains, the homestay itself feels like a perl embedded into the the entire slope.

The only thing which bugged me, that there was no direct access to the nearby market.
But hey? Who needs a market when you are out for a retreat.

This place deserves all the appreciation for its views and the hospitality of the owners. Very homely experience, delicious food with stunning landscapes!

We stayed at Northmoon Homestay in Cheog village near Fagu, in August 2022. It was a comfortable stay for our family of four - couple with two kids. We had the single bedroom to ourselves. It is spacious with an extra bed.

The homestay is easily reachable from Shimla-Fagu main road. The location is away from hustle of Shimla, but with all major amenities and attractions within driving distance. We were able to make trips to Shimla, Theog and Narkanda from the homestay.

The views from homestay are mesmerizing. The food is simple and delicious, just like one's home-cooked food. Suresh sir and aunty took great care of us and we had a memorable stay. Overall, highly recommended for family groups!

A wonderful experience with Sureshji and his wife for a 2night stay (22-24 May, 2009) at his homestay.

- A tour to his apple orchard and get insights from his vast knowledge
- A walking distance pine forest and valley with a treehouse. Sunrise-sunset point
- The warmth and caring of the entire family.
- Preparing and being part of making a himachali dish in their lifelinr wodden kichen amd chulha
- Being with nature with absolute calm
- The food made with love and affection. The chicken made by Sureshji's son was awesome. (They are a vegetarian family)
- Being a starter of this homestay since 2009.

Northmoon homestay is a perfect getaway from the typical chaotic city life. Just wonderful be it the food, the hosts, the view everything is just perfect. Can't wait ro get back.

The homestay was a beautiful experience with extremely sweet and helpful people and staff. The view from the rooms are the ones to die for and the rooms were extremely spacious and clean. Fresh home cooked food is something one would expect in homestay but this one was delicious as well as fresh. Overall it was a superb experience and looking forward to coming back to this place. The hosts are extremely amazing people.

I stayed at Northmoon homestay for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The setting is incredible, with breath-taking views of Himalayan mountains, pine forests & apple orchards all around. Sureshji and his family made me feel like a member of their family. I enjoyed my meals in their cozy traditional family dinning hall and relished the lip-smacking himachali food that they served me along with their home made ghee from their own desi pahadi cow. I had some good conversations with the entire family.
The homestay overlooks the family's Apple Orchard. A portion of their orchard has been preserved as a pine forest. Each floor has one large, spacious room with its own staircase, ensuring privacy for all. The rooms are well-insulated and well-kept. Working desks, seating areas, and high-speed Internet access are all available, allowing you to work as efficiently as possible, if one wishes.
I would wake up to a magnificent sunrise, not to be missed if one stays there. You can even see it from the bed if you have booked the top most rooms. Even if partially covered, the sun set is as beautiful. One can even enjoy daily sun bathing on the terrace of their residence which is right in front of the homestay bldg.and is easily accessible.
As a traveller I appreciated the place and its scenery so much that I didn’t want to leave. I took daily morning and evening walks in the picturesque surrounding villages, which are flanked by apple orchards. And the other highlight is milking the cow activity which is a ritual at dawn daily. The fresh cow milk is super tasty even if one is not a milk drinker, one must try.
It’s a family run humble homestay so please leave your city demands back if you want to truly enjoy & treat yourself to a beautiful mountain village life experience. Trust me you won’t regret.
I will cherish every moment of this stay and wish to be back soon.

Best place to relax in the hills just 23kms from shimla. The homestay has independent floors with private balconies which provide the best views and rooms are quite spacious. The best thing is that you can see the sunrise and sunset from your room only, suresh ji and his family are perfect hosts. Definitely a home away from home.

It was my first trip as a family of 3 (latest addition being my 18 month old Daughter). And it turned out to be an amazing one. All thanks to Suresh jee and Aunty who were an amazing host. This is a very homely place and has a very friendly atmosphere. The location and view is amazing- mountains, apple orchards, pine trees to name a few. The rooms and washrooms are very clean and the service is prompt. The food was very delicious and had a home cooked taste. Suresh jee also guided me very well for the 5 days of my trip in and around Shimla. I'll surely be added to their list of repeaters and there are so many prople who visit this property year on year. The greatest plus is that if you are travelling with a kid/infant they ensure that they do all that is possible to take care of the little ones. Hope to be back soon!

Visited in August 2021. Peaceful surrounding away from crowd at the same time close proximity to nearby spots. Very generous and humble host. Had some delicious Himachali food. Clean rooms, great view and treks nearby. Host is undoubtedly super host. Keep it up!

We stayed at North moon Home stay for 3 nights. It was a really amazing stay with such a delightful view. Talking about Hospitality provided my sharma ji and his family was exceptional. The place was filled with serenity. Food was the main highlight all those morning delicious paranthas, puris followed by himachli pancakes and that delicious chicken curry with all those exotic spices there are no words for it. Overall if you are planning to stay at Fagu it is the best choice you will ever made. It is a home away from home

Its a beautiful homestay, at beautiful place run by beautiful people. It's a place where you can find peace and tranquility.

I recommend those travelling for giving some rest to body from hustle and bustle of the city, you could stay here, in corona crisis we all are doing our works from home albeit we could transfer it into work from mountain, and for this purpose best place to check in is North Moon Homestay

Beautiful place with a lovely host. The location is simply gorgeous with a beautiful view. Mr Sharma is great host and Mrs Sharma makes sure your tastebuds are always happy ensuringveg food is hosted to its best. They do not provide non veg food but I really never missed it in my 4 day stay. The rooms are very well maintained and superb. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
