Easily one of the best places to sit and eat in Bir. Try their cold beverages which are perfectly mixed. The staff is very professional and prompt. I personally loved the Fruit beer here and the Chilly Chicken Pizza.
I got the egg drop soup and it was so refreshing. When I ordered first they said that it would take time but it did not take that long. The ambience was good too. A good place to hangout as a group.
A perfect place to hangout with an amazing view of mountains and vibe of the coffee house. Loved the ginger lemon honey tea, pork ribs, ema datsi, thukpa and tingmo.
The food is very affordable for the quantity and quality.
Service is not good. Menu is not good. Food quality is not good. I have ordered coffee, Momos, cheese chilli, thupka and pizza. Pizza and coffee were a big disappointment.
I guess this is one of the few restaurant serving authentic Tibetan food. We were on long road trip in Himachal Pradesh covered places like Tirthan valley, jibhi, even the Spiti valley but surprisingly we couldn't find any authentic Tibetan restaurant. At last during our stay in Bir we found this place. They are in the valley from very old times so all the food items are very traditional. The staff was also very courteous and helpful especially for explaining the Tibetan cuisine. If you are in Bir then you must try this place, its really worth. Please give a try for LOCAL FOOD at least once during your stay in the places like this, it encourages locals to promote the local flavours.
First things first, you've got to try the Ice Tea here.
Talking about the food, it's quite awesome. You can try momos, pizza or the different Tibetan dishes they serve. The staff is very polite and they take good care of the hygeine as well. So yes, if you're looking for good food in a clean and cozy space, definitely got to try Nyingma!
I would consider this to be my preferred dining spot in Bir. It's a tranquil and snug establishment with no unnecessary frills, offering excellent food, fantastic staff, and impeccable service. Their Ema Datshi is unparalleled in comparison to any I have tasted beyond Bhutan, and the rest of their menu is equally delectable.
The food here is just amazing the place is very pocket friendly. The Thai curry with the traditional bread or steam rice is fantastic. It's amongst the best Thai curry I have tasted. The devil momos are also a key highlight of this place. Overall it's the best Tibetan restaurant in bir I hope they open a franchise in Mumbai
Terribly slow service. I was planning on adding this review after having food but alas haven’t been able to sight it for 30 minutes since I ordered. And this is off season, sparse crowd and I see everyone have been waiting for a looooong time.
Anyway the pros:
Great outdoor seating space, full sunlit, absolutely brilliant for the winters. Located a very short walk from the road.
Edit 1: Updated with pics of the highly recommended Devil’s Momo. The Chicken is most recommended, but being a vegetarian I ordered the Veg option and I am not disappointed. It’s basically steamed momo in manchurian gravy. Should try.
Good and fast service.ordered mutton and the devil chicken special momos.were amazing.and soups were good too.hot and sour and manchow chicken soup.great ambience too.they've maintained it well
Not much options when we visited and the place had quite a deserted view. The cafe is spacious with good seating arrangement, but need to visit again to check out their food.
Do not visit this place if you want to have the worst experience. The staff is very rude and incooperative. To get a glass of water it took 50mins, we had to remind them multiple times for the same. After waiting for an hour we still didn't get our order. We asked them to cancel the order. Pathetic service and experience overall.
The place and Ambience is really very good. Food interns of quality and taste is above average. You can try Tibetan and Burmese Dishes along with Peach Ice- Tea (Must try) & Honey lemon tea.
Please do visit this restaurant if you want to have worst experience. 1) you have to wait for 45 mins for a glass of water. 2) they don’t have enough glasses. 3) staff was rude and impolite. 4) when I asked for my order after 1 hr they told me it’s going to take time, else you may leave.
Nyingma Peace Café is a spacious café with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. It overlooks a lush-green lawn on one side and tree-covered Bir valley on another. The service is friendly and laid back. There's a limited menu of Tibetan dishes, pastas and hot/cold beverages, all reasonably priced.
We visited the restaurant at around 6.15 pm and the guy working there told us to note down our order on a page which he gave us, which I found a little weird. After that we placed our order and had to wait a lottt. We requested them to give us some hot water which took more than 30 mins. Even after multiple reminders we didn't get a single dish by 7.30 pm. When we asked the lady on the counter and the guy who took our order, they kept on saying our food is almost done. The people who came after us (all the foreigners) were served everything. Even when it was their mistake the guy who took our order had the audacity to say "Thike, aap chale jao aur aapka order wapas kabhi hum lenge nai".:). Ultimately, after experiencing terrible service and facing rude staff, we decided to leave the cafe uneaten.
The restaurant is very good. We had ordered momos, drinks and chowmein, both veg and non veg and all of them were very nice. The spicy momos and chowmein are actually very spicy. And they are amazing! Loved the food!
The food is to die for If you wanna have yummiest mono along with great Thupka along with Cold Coffee then definitely visit here. Devil momos was the best chicken momo I had in my entire life ️ Everyone should definitely visit this place if you are in Bir
The cold coffee we ordered was amazing, and the food was well balanced, neither too spicy nor bland.excellent service, great ambience and very reasonable prices! Recommended!
Super affordable and with it food. All cuisines are delicious. Friendly staff. Good for everyone. Pet friendly too. They have both indoor and outdoor seating
1) Ginger Honey Lemon was refreshing. 10/10 2) Thukpa was filling. Though had to add salt and pepper to bring out the real flavors. 8/10 3) Devil Momo - lipsmackingly good. 10/10
After reading such positive reviews I went to Nyingma to have Tibetan momos. However, my experience was not so great. Momos could be tasty but they didn't serve them piping hot to me so, kha k maza nhi aaya. Chutney was super? I really liked it. Waiters were not so humble.
Great place to eat out at if you are in Bir, they offer good Tibetan food and the rest of the food items are good too. I loved the Tibetan steamed bread and there fried momos
The food is amazing and the price is much cheaper compared to other cafes. I had the best thukpa here. The ambience is also very good. Must visit restaurant in bir
They have the best thukpa and other tibetian dishes. Must try their dessert as well. The price is also cheaper compared to other cafes and the food is well worth it
Best tibetian cuisine served here. Can't get over the food that I'm still drooling over the food i had during my visit to this hotel. Do try Nyingma Devil Momo while you're here. They taste super yummy.
Location is very nice. You can choose to sit outside or inside. Manager is soft spoken. Portion size is big enough. It was difficult for me to finish one thukpa bowl. They have variety of dishes. I liked the Tibetan streamed bread Tingmo.
Loved the vibe and peaceful location at the cafe. The food tastes awesome. With every table, they have provided power plugs and good wifi speed and power backup. You can bring your laptop and work from the cafe.
Tasty and fresh food. We initially wanted the momos but unfortunately they could not make them without paneer. Ended up having coconut curry, Tingmo steamed buns. Everything very tasty.
Some of the best food I've had in Bir! Massive value for money. The place is serene, and one can work in peace (if need be). WiFi handles video calls with ease.
I am editing the review from four star which I gave it two years back to one star. As the restaurant was really bad l. I had ordered an chilli chicken and I got something that was not even chicken and was bread. I told the staff any it they seem to go check the kitchen for it and never came back to give us proper reply. Then they charged us for the chilli chicken at MRP. Other foods that we ordered were also not good to taste like pizza which base was as thin as paper and the taste of the pizza was not worth it. Too if you want good there are way better restaurant than this It would be better to eat at dhaba than here. I am never going back to this place ever again. I would give it zero star if there was option too.
A very peaceful place to enjoy your food. The food is simple, tasty, healthy and high quality. Staff is very pleasing and polite. Tingmu, Alu phing Veg, Steamed Momos, Stir Fried Bokchoy are must try for vegetarians. Must try- Honey Ginger Lemon Tea.
Just been to the restaurant here and the food was super delicious its proper Tibatian food and it isn't expensive. If you are in Bir it's a must place to go
Nyingma Cafe in Bir Billing: Located on the main road landing site, it is like a different mahol from the chaos and traffic of road.
About food, we had manchow soup, momos and Alu phing veg Tingmo and it was really delicious! We also tried different cake and each flavor was quite nice and tasty.
Do visit the place when in Bir Billing district Kangra.
This was the second time that I have stayed in this place. However, the place has been downgraded. Thrice my food order was incorrect and one meal was stale. When I complained I was informed that since restaurant is closed, we will talk in the morning. I couldn't eat my dinner at all. The rooms are decent but cleanliness is missing. The room requires maintenance and cleanliness. Staff needs to be trained to handle guests better as it doesn't leave a good impression. I am highly disappointed and unhappy with place. I wouldn't recommend this place unless they upgrade themselves and give good customer service.
Ordered a chicken chilli and got bread that was made to look like chicken and we asked them where was chilli chicken and they went as if they were going to check it and never came back. And the rest of the food were not good too. I would not recommend you to this restaurant. Worst restaurant. Also ordered a pizza and it was not that good.
Excellent place to try out Tibetan food. We had thenthuk and veg momos here and both of them very excellent in quality and quantity. The price was also justified. Overall a very nice experience. Must visit restaurant in Bir.
The food was average. The rating is for the owner/man at the counter who targeted our Mexican friend for speaking 'loudly' when everyone around was much louder. Making an issue out of a complete non issue wasn't a pleasant experience.
Much hyped. Average restaurant with well maintained premises, cleanliness is at par. Wood fired Pizza and brownie shake is really good. Staff is polite and friendly. Reasonable prices.
The cheapest way to visit Tibet when you are in Bir. Just pick up anything in the menu and you'd wipe it off in no time. Some of the servers are rude but that's a small price you pay for great food. Also, the best place to get piles.
Best Tibetan food in Bir! Devilled mutton momo, Oreo Shake are out of this world amazing! Great staff, beautiful layout with a beautiful outdoor seating as well, and an amazing cafe to work from too! Must visit!
It is approx 800 mts from landing site. If you enjoying eating outdoor and like to try indo Tibetan cuisines and some great drinks (non- alcoholic) than this is the place you must try.
Both the outdoor & indoor ambiance are well maintained, run by professional.
The deviled momos are really well done here. Great place to work from, it's spacious, open and the peach iced tea is recommended too. Also, they mix nutella in the hot chocolate - highly recommend.
Very roomy cafe with lots of plants and huge outdoor seating. We came here for breakfast and ordered masala omelette, french toast and cafe mocha. The food was delicious and service was prompt. A little pricey as compared to other cafes in the area but quality and portion size is good.
Excellent service, super fast, super cheap, and the food is delicious! Really big platings, and a nicelly decorated comfty space. They also do deliveries.
Most probably the best cafe in Bir. Main USF is meal with nature. Great food with varied variety and nominal pricing. Loved it. Sitting is very confertable too. Must try- Choclate cake and chai.
Nice food with beautiful location if you want to taste some authentic tibetan food you must try this coz I am local Tibetan n I know what’s the taste so go for it
This was the first time Here I had green tea which was full of taste. Green tea and cakes were so delicious. The atmosphere inside made me wanna stay there all day.
