I visited Manali with my cousins in Oct, we did not want to get stuck in the hustle bustle traffic of Mall Road or the over crowded streets in the main town. We thus chose Orchid Nest and to our fortune it was the best decision we made in the entire trip.
The place has some amazingly breath taking views. The owner of the place Mr Hiralal is a v v cooperative person who played an amazing host to us. The rooms are large and spacious and the place also has a small and beautiful garden.

However, the USP of this place is the outstanding cook that this place has. The aroma of the amazing food he cooked, tickled our taste buds every single time and made us feel at home.
We had an amazing three day stay thanks to their hospitality.
THE Place to stay in if one is travelling to Manali

One of the best cottages to be in to be honest. It might get a bit pricier but that happens only during peak season. But the view, the cook, the staff and the owner were all the best experience to have while staying in Manali.

This is a really nice property in Shuru village away from the crowd. There is a really nice apple orchid in front of cottages. All rooms have a balcony and offer an excellent view of snow peaks.

Positive things about this property. Please consider it if you like positive points.

1. Excellent stay for 2-3 families as it only has 3 rooms.
2. Peaceful location in Shuru village which is away from the crowd.
3. You can really feel the atmosphere of the proper Manali Village. Owner Hira Lal's family lives nearby and they tell the culture of the village really well.
4. Cook, Ramesh ji is also good and cooked food as per our need.
5. Birds chirping in the mountain is amazing. I used to hear all kind of bird chirping in morning and I really spotted some birds from my binoculars as well.
6. There was a waterfall far on the opposite mountain which was really nice to see from the balcony.
7. Garden/farm is really well maintained. I could see a lot of fruit trees in garden such as Apple, plums, apricot, walnut, pear.

Awesome place. Owner is a very Good Person. Feels like home. It is situated in uphills of Manali. In Night you can see light beauty of Manali

There is a lot of amazing service here, please visit here once and see and the view of the mountain is also very nice from here.

My stay experience with my wife, kids and parents was very very best. We was in Orchid Nest on 26 to 29 May 2017. The cottage was beautiful and clean. The location was pretty good. Food was tasty, delicious and cheaper (can feel home-make-food) The owner Hiralal (dont assume his image by name, he is quite handsome) staying in front of the cottage from generations. Was very talented and ready to help anytime. If you are first time visitor you can ask for guidance, surely get perfect/proper guidance. Owner's whole family is nice and well educated. On the stay, don't forget to visit Sabri Mata Temple in morning and/or evening. If you want to see Apple growing on trees, visit in August. Negative for those who like to stay in crowd and noise. The Orchid Nest cottage is in Shuru village, 6.5 km from Manali market.
