OYO 29263 Siddharth Guest House

I had visited this place back then in 2017 when i was a tourist and had visited McLeod Ganj for the first time. Since my other friends were staying here, i also ended up booking this place for my stay. And to my surprise my room had a very nice theme to it i can't recollect though. My 2 other friends were staying in the Radha Krishna theme and one more that was the Jungle one. It was just so beautiful and pretty. The view from the rooms are spectacular and the whole valley and mountains. One could keep sitting in the balcony and watch outside forever.

The rooftop was a nice place to have meals we ready enjoyed alot. At that time they didn't cook in-house and so we had to order for food from a nearby restaurant which took a lot of time to come and we were cringing with hunger. But the servers there were really sweet and took good care of us and also helped us with our luggage.

Please for God sake don't book this.bad location, pathetic staff or I say no staff and lots more

After travelling 500 kms from Delhi to Mcloedganj, the hotel refused to give rooms when checked in and that too after paying in advance. Gave rooms to some other guests.what a fraud. Had to call OYO twice to get refund.

The owner was too touchy and mannerless.
We couldn't stay for a moment.
Had to find another hotel when we already paid for this one.
The location is way too far from market.
There was no fan, no amenities in the room mentioned online.
The staff didn't even serve water.
The staff member sent WhatsApp msgs after a month we returned from trip.
Not safe for girls.
Would never recommend.

I arrived with my partner to this establishment around 23: 30 as we had taken a bus from Amritsar to Dharamasala, we had found our way from the bus drop off point to McLeod Ganj and eventually found the guest house.

Now upon arrival the host was clueless as to whether we even had a booking here even though I had showed him several confirmation emails of my booking for 2 nights.

After sometime he found the confirmation of our booking by now it was nearing 00: 30, he then stated we may have to pay for our booking (even though I had showed him all the confirmation to show the booking was already paid in full)

Again after some more time waiting and him discussing with his staff we were eventually shown to our room which he claimed we had to stay in due to checking in to late (and the rest of the guest house was full) which was a complete lie.

The room we were shown to was without basic amenities including a mirror and toilet roll, it also had no fan and the plastic wrap was still present on the mattress (really confusing, are you planning to resell this? Or just don’t want to clean anything) probably the latter as our sheets were clearly old and had been slept in previously. To add insult to injury the curtains were diabolical and barely covered the windows.

So after finally getting some questionable rest we awoke and went to the check in desk to talk with the owner, he again stated we had the room last night because the guest house was full, again it definitely was not, there was no reason to not give us our appropriate room.

We then explained the amount we paid for the 2 night, around 4000 rupees after hearing this he apologised and gave us a room we should’ve been staying in the whole time (which had the very basic amenities at least, and a comfier bed.

Whilst me and my partner were getting ready to leave for the day he began hanging loudly on our door and when my partner opened the door he barged in and began shouting about how we did not pay 4000 which I was able to show to the man on his phone with this he began shouting and told us we were lying and stealing from him, there was no apparent reason to say his especially the amount he raised his voice.

With this we had had enough of this terrible establishment and decided to leave making a 20/30 minute journey to another place to stay which turned out to be a great place to.

Moral of the story is don’t waste your time and money on this terribly bad location.

Situated at a peaceful area, we stayed there during New year celebration cost was very high that time, owner is good, food is not available there but you can get food from nearby places, views are good.

Rooms are tidy and view is good. Staff is very humble.

Cafe is different when it comes to seating.
5-7mins walk from main Chowk.

Siddharth house is situated in Mcleodganj, And here, you can find of the one of the most beautiful side views through every room's balcony.

Overall, a pleasant stay. The view of dualadhar range from the balcony is amazing. Cleanliness is satisfactory though the furniture is old. Bathrooms have water heaters but room heaters come for a daily charge.

The staff is friendly. Mr. Prince, especially saw to it that our requests are met.

On the downside, the hotel is located a bit far off from the main street and demands a bit of a climb up an elevated street to reach the town centre. But most of the popular restuarants in Mcleodganj are within 1 km.

Nothing but positive things to say about this place. I was meaning to see what this place was like as I had heard good things and recently had an unpleasant experience with another hotel.
I was immediately greeted by friendly staff, tea was offered as soon as I was shown a room. By the time I looked at my phone is spent almost two hours chatting with people about a great many things.

The rooms were very clean, facilities are great for the location. I was in the sun room and it lives up to it's name and gets excellent rays during the morning and such fresh air. The view here is also something special, you can see two snowcapped peaks from the guest house and along with the hills it was truly spectacular.

I spent over a week here and have been pleased with the service from day 1.

Looking forward to spending time here next time:)
