This is the oldest and beautiful monastery, one should must visit in Bir. Its 20min far from the main bir city. You can take your own vehicle as it has a big parking space.
Have a cafeteria area and shop from where you can get cute little things as a memory from Bir.
Good monestry to visit. Its like a Grand Monestry. Monks study different subjects here. Good to see thay have cafes, restaurant, hotels n guest house also.
You can go inside the prayer room while prayer is going on. The atmosphere if very good and quite.
There is a quaint little cafe just at the entrance besides the book store which many people miss. It is amazing. They have limited but delicious options for drinks and desserts.
The two in one server and cook makes everything with passion.
Do try the lemon cake.
If you are a walker or cycler, we highly recommended you go there that way. The 5km road is very beautiful with very different landscape and soundscapes after every km. There are many trails cutting through it which you can explore and might find really beautiful quite and private places.
This monastery is one of the best. It's so peaceful for there. It's a school for monks here. The monks of this monastery has won the Grammy Awards for their chants.
Beautiful and Peaceful monastery Actually it is a school for monks Evening time they perform prayers and chant mantras Neat and clean place Parking space available Restroom facilities available Cab service also available
Very quiet, peaceful and beautiful place. It is mostly untouched. The way is difficult as the road is very narrow so don't attempt it unless you are proficient in driving around hilly areas. However, the risk is worth every bit of reward. The views are picturesque.
Its beautiful monestary. You will get very scenic views on the approach road from Baijnath towards monestary. And you can exit towards Bir. Monestary has a cafeteria and small shop to buy T-shirt, bags, books and other small stuff. Photographs are not allowed inside main temple. It is a must visit place. You will experience a different kind of vibes and peace at this place.
Located just 7 Kms from Bir (the paragliding destination of India), this monestary is THE symbol of peace and tranquility. This place is a departure from the heafty noises and crowds of cities. Just casually converse with a monk, you would know the meaning of true happiness. You would get to learn how stay happy no matter how difficult it is outside. May I suggest something? Rent a bicycle. They are easily available in Bir, if you have the gift of bargaining you could get a great deal. OK. Rent a bicycle and cycle to the monestary, believe you me, you'd enjoy every bit of it, the weather, the route and, well, yourself. And if you're a biker/rider like me. Well, I'll just say this, mountain road + no traffic (not even cows. LOL).
This monastery deserves more than an excursion niche when you have come to bir billing as paragliding! Like a city within city it does make you feel very calm, stress-free, the environment here is sure to pat your head with blessing hand to make you realise that life is much more than a 8 hours machine like job in any bustling city! Just sit in awe and grasp the time like on camera roll!
It's a serene monastery surrounded by nature and reflecting peace in the atmosphere. A scenic view and for a keen soul a trip to religion, in depth. It's an advice to absorb the energy of the place not from the perspective of a visitor but someone in search of peace.
Take a bike, and enjoy the downhill. Don't miss out on the stupas and new monastery, they are nearby. There are 3 monasteries in the region. Do check them out!
I am like blown away with the peace of this place. I hired a bicycle and rode for 7 kms. The road is in good condition but its get real chilly after sunset. Not much sign boards are available but the place is worth a visit while Lama dance
Monastic seat of 12th tai situpa located at palpung sherabling bhattoo.monastry with more than 1200 monks studying in the monastery run institutions. Monks also involved in works like arts crafts music dance and research on Ayurvedic and Tibetan medicines.
A beautiful monastery to visit near Bir. The most amazing experience of visiting this place, in my opinion, could be a morning walk or cycling (biking) from Bir to here along the serene, sylvan mountain road. The walk would be about an hour long. However, the road is perfectly motorable and also a smooth for both walk or drive. You will find the place buzzing with the busy activies of the cute Tibetan kids who are the students here. Strewn among them, you would come across, a few senior monks with solemn faces. Surely a place worthy to refresh one's mind with a sense of purity.
