Paragliding in Bir Billing

I was in two minds but I’m glad i did it.

I started at the landing site where we sign a Declaration form. From there they take you in their jeep/ vehicle to the top takes about 20-25mins.

It is scary but they ensure locks are in place, give instructions, and tell you to run when starting and landing.

It was difficult to run for me both times. But the take off was very quick (my weight is 56kgs) and i before i could realise I was already in air.

Once in the air, it was very calm. I was relaxed. The go pro video shooting is part of the fees. They quotes us 3k but you can negotiate.

If they offer to do stunts, it is upto you, that is another 500₹ if you ask for stunts.

While landing, they also take photos as you are descending and after having landed. But still confirm with them if they offer it. Might be different for different service providers. Charge is 200 per person if you want these photos.

Ensure you have memory space in your phone, they transfer it soon after to your phone directly.

There are washrooms both at the top (20rs) as well as at the landing site

The area is lined with Cafes, you can also get bikes/ cycles on rent.

There are many hostels too in the location.

Indeed, it is one of the best experiences I would say given that I also dreaded the heavy winds that were flowing and that made me uncomfortable in between but overall it is worth coming here adventure. Enthusiasts would love doing even the other activities which are available in building such as Burma, Brij and Sky cycling bungee jumping
The level from which the Paragliding stars can make you feel a little sick cause the air is a little too thin because of the altitude which makes it possible for Paragliding. So be prepared for a little discomfort if you have any kind of height issues

One of the best places to visit and explore in Northern part of India. One should aim to jump from these hieghts and see it through from an eagle's eye view atleast once in life. Plz be careful before booking paragliding service.
There is one person name Lakhan singh he is a big fraud.
At the time of booking he said 25mins ride.
And his pilot vikas brought down in 10mins
We had to pay full amount rs3000 coz they all are from local gang.
Tourist cannot afford any life risk.

Bir Billing India's highest Paragliding place. Once you come here, you will not feel like going back. So do come once and experience paragliding.

Paragliding is open in Bir Billing along with other adventure activities. Flight time of Paragliding is 15 to 20 minutes. Climate is cold, with temperatures from 5 to 25 degrees centigrade in winter and 25 to 30 centigrade in the summer season.

The paragliding experience was very amazing. But there are no facilities at the top. Even basic needs like washrooms are not available.

But the paragliding experience will give u chills. Will recommend you to wear gloves as it's cold mostly.

We reached Bir around 5.40pm, we were late. Next day we had flight from Chandigarh at 4pm. But Rajkumar gave all the possible options, but he told there is a risk. He gave his genuine opinion, he didn't wanted to do business he wanted to give us good experience. We took calculated risk & gave a chance to try in the morning. He made sure we complete everything by 7.30 so that we can catch flight & we completed it by 7 am itself. Ankit, my pilot have a good experience

Bir-Billing is the best spot for Tandem Paragliding sessions in Himachal Pradesh, India. Normal paragliding flight is for 15 to 20 mins which includes take off from Billing at the altitude of 8000 feet from sea level and landing at Bir which is 4300 feet from sea level.

Best place for paragliding in india, just take care of weather before leaving for trekking, it can change anytime, you ll have to climb 6 mountains to reach at the top of billing. Trekking is tough, try not to carry extra stuff.

At Bir Billing for a flight time of ~30 minutes they charge avg. Rs. 2,500 (negotiable especially offseason) per head making it the lowest cost per minute flight in India. While paragliding is offered at several places, they are largely commercial ranging from Rs. 1,500 to 2,000 for a 10-15 minute flight. The difference between the take off and landing altitude is also highest compared to any other locations. One must experience it once.

Awsome place to do paragliding. Pilots are well trained. Its totally worth spending 2.5k for this experience. Way better than what one experiences in Solang valley. TBH, Solang valley's paragliding seems a joke in front of this and moreover, you pay almost same money at both these sites. Cheers

Its a must go place for people who love adventure sports.but please do take care because weather is important factor there.we were about to do paragliding but due to bad weather it was canceled so if you really want to try it keep 2-3 reserve days with you

Can't really put in words the experience I had at the second best in Asia and fourth best in the world Paragliding destination. This was one of the best adventures I experienced so far. It seems difficult and terrifying when looked at first but when you're at the take off site you don't get any time to get nervous to jump off the cliff. At one moment your feet are on the ground and before you know it the wind pulls you off the ground and you are flying. All I wanted at that moment that the flight must never end but alas you land and you definitely land with a great smile on your face. The ultimate liberation is what I felt in this very thrill-seeking adventure.

Paragliding looks scary but it's not.

Feels like you are flying in the sky, can record whole experience as instructor are carrying cam along with them.

Volvo buses are avilable but people prafeered their own cab.

Best paragliding ground in whole Asia. Flight time will be 20-25 mins. 3 hours journey from McLeod ganj. Beautiful place.

The best place so far of my life. I have been over there for almost 3 years and still want to go there to live again. This place is world famous for "Worlds best paragliding site". You can fly over Dhauladhar mountain range for almost 25 minutes by paying 2000 rupees (without video footage). It is not only famous for paragliding but also famous for Buddhism. There are approx 14 monasteries around the Bir. Market, hotels, home stay, café's and much more to spend your time.

It was an amazing experience. Bir Billing in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh is considered the best place in India for adventures in paragliding, which is why there is an abundance of paragliding operators there who offer short, medium and long flying sessions.

The Billing take-off point is Asia’s highest and the world’s second highest at around 8000 feet above sea level and the landing is at around 4000 feet. Go for tandem flying if you’re not an expert paraglider. October to June is the best time to go paragliding in Bir Billing.

This was the most amazing part of my trip to Mcleodganj, Triund and Bir Billing. Totally worth it. Ask them to do stunts in air. They're amazing!

The height is great for paragliding and the glidders are all licensed and experienced. Overall experience was good but it must be way more enjoyable if you learn and do it yourself.
