I recently had the pleasure of staying at Parasol Camps during my trip to Chandratal and Spiti, and I must say, it was an amazing experience. The staff at the campsite, especially Biru Bhaiya, Neel Bhaiya, and Bishan Bhaiya, were outstanding. They took care of us in a very good way and made sure that we were comfortable throughout our stay.
The food at the campsite was also excellent, from the delicious breakfast to the mouth-watering dinner, everything was just perfect. The staff made sure that we had everything we needed and even provided us with useful details about the culture and places we were visiting, which made our trip even more interesting.
Overall, I would highly recommend Parasol Camps to anyone planning a trip to Chandratal or Spiti. The staff is amazing, the food is delicious, and the campsite is just perfect for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thank you, Parasol Camps, for the wonderful experience!
We stayed there during the Chandratal July Snowfall, from 8th to 13th July. The people, the food, the camps, the services and the entire team is everything best you can ever ask for. Hands down best place to be at. Cannot explain through words how much they supported us during such life threatening times.
Best Camp in Chandratal. Whole team is supportive and interactive. You don’t have internet here, so the camp activity and chit chat gupshup amongst all the visitors are great thing to chill and have fun. Food was also good and quick service.
Best time to visit it summer Clearest lake looks like pangong lake But quite beautiful and amazing
Tso Chigma or Chandra Taal, or Chandra Tal is a lake in the spiti part of the Lahul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Chandra Taal is near the source of the Chandra River. Despite the rugged and inhospitable surroundings, it is in a protected niche with some flowers and wildlife in summer.
A comfortable tent stay at Chandratal base camp. Stayed with family. Tents were comfortable, neat and clean bathroom. Each guest was provided with hot water bags before sleeping that helped to keep ourselves warm. Food was good with tasty kheer. Kahwa and rusks were provided all the time. Bishan lal Thakur ji (BSNL️ the only network) shared interesting stories and information about Spiti. I will recommend Parasols camp to everyone who is travelling to Chandratal.
Best camp at chandratal, food was very delicious, staff was very supportive especially bishanji was very gentle and nice person with lots of knowledge.
I am Robin from the Netherlands. In October 2022 I stayed 1 night at Parasol Camps at Chandertal. It was a great experience. Lovely tents and great dinner and breakfast! So delicious! Mr. BIRSINGH is very helpful and made my visit to Chandertal fantastic. Thank you so much! See you next year again.
The camp stays open for 4 months at an elevation of 14230 feet, provides all the basic amenities that you need at that elevation.with hot water, hotbags at night, the highlight will be if you meet the owner, Bisan Lal ji. We experienced snowfall, a temperature of -8°C at night and were lucky enought to stay there as the camps were all about to close. Once in a lifetime experience. Would highly recommend
We had stayed in a tent (with attached bathroom) of Parasol camps for one night in October 2022. The tent was very cozy and the bathroom quite clean. The tent has all amenities found in a hotel such as table, chair, bed with quilts. Mr. Bishen and his team ensured that our stay is very comfortable - provided us a quick and simple lunch as soon as we arrived. Kahwa, tea, rusk, warm water was available at all times to drink. Hot water is also available for general use in the camp in each tent. The main tent was kept warm at all times so that guests could interact. Mr. Bishen also kept us engaged by telling us stories. The dinner provided was delicious - with roti, rice, daal, 2 types of vegetables along with a sweet dish (kheer). We cannot even imagine the difficulty involved in preparing such dishes inside a tent with limited means and resources. We were also given hot water bags in the night to help keep us warm. Great stay at Parasol camps.
Parasol camps are the best in Chandratal. We stayed there in the first week of October, 2022 when temperature of night was -10. Inspite of that they served hot steaming soups and dinner. Tea, dinner and breakfast all were delicious. There is a tandoor in their kitchen tent which will give you warmth. Their hospitality is just amazing. It was the best experience for us in that beautiful place. The beds in the tent were clean and warm enough to make you comfortable at -10 degree centigrade. There is hot water supply in toilet through solar energy water heater. We really didn't expect such type of comfort in that serene atmosphere. All the experiences in Parasol Camp were beyond our expectations.
The camp remains open between mid May & mid October. I visited the place 6th October. Most of the camps were closed at that time. But Parasol was open. The price might look high, but the level of hospitality they are providing in the nomans land is amazing. The add will be if u get a chance to meet the owner, Bisan Lal ji (Guru, BSNL). He entertained us throughout the evening, provided medical facility for high altitude sickness. Plz dont expect 3/5 star facility. They are providing basic facilities like hot water, power, good food, unlimited supply of tea, clean washroom, good bed n blankets etc at a height if 14k feet, to reach the place u need to travel 60km offroad.
We the group of six family members, visited Chandratal lake, which I think is from another planet, we stayed in your camp for a night, what a level of service you provide at this site, simply unbelievable, the man we must mention is Bir singh, for the extraordinary care he take of the travellers, simply amazing, kudos to the owner for having such a wonderful team.
Visited the camps on 02.09.2022. As I was staying in such a remote location for first time and that also with family, so was somewhat worried. But, parasol was way beyond my expectation. Whatever you can imagine, as a facility, was there. I definitely recommend anyone to book parasol camps as their first choice. They have good location, best food.clean camps, hot water, clean linens and even basic medical facilities such as O2 meter and O2 itself for emergency. Above all, the peoples, who are managing the camps are very helpful and ready for you at any time. Now, I am writing about Mr. Neel. I think, despite of being at such place and with different types of personalities, he is so cool and in control which really feels good. So, I recommend to spend some time talking to him. Finally, a word of caution, book the camps in advance as most of the time camps are full. However, if you are reaching there around noon, one may get his nest without booking also. I will give 5 star to parasol for their well planned facilities. And above all, The Lake Chandertal is a beautiful gift of nature to all of us and a treat to eyes. So, keep the nature clean and intact for our coming generations. Thanks Parasol for such a beautiful memory.
Stayed at Parasole camps Chandratal on August 18 for one night had a great experience.neat and comfortable Swiss tents and very delicious hot food served in breakfast and dinner. Mr Bishan was an excellent host. In all was an amazing experience.
Excellent site, awesome hospitality special mention of Mr. Birsingh Sharma, he takes very good care of all the people staying in the camp, facilities are very good had a great time
In our Spiti Valley Expedition day 6 i.e. On 1st. July 2022 we started from our Kaza Homestay at 06: 00 a.m.
We at first stopped at a valley for taking photographs and afterwards stopped for Breakfast at Losar at about 10: 00 a.m.
Then we started to our destination for the day that is Chandratal Lake and stopped at Parasol Camps at about 12: 00 Noon which was our stay for the day.
Parasol camps are the best camping site near Chandratal which are at a distance of approx. 2 kms.at an altitude of approx. 14100 ft.above sea level.
After a light lunch we took rest for one & half hour because we had to start to explore Chandratal Lake.
The interior was so beautiful and the arrangements was as good as any hotel or homestay that we could not feel that we are at a camping site.
The beds were multi layered with mattresses and numbers of blankets & quilts to cope up with severe cold here.
There was s small restaurant where we found Dal-chawl, Maggi, Omelette, Tea etc.
After returning from Chandratal Lake trek we had Tea.
The dinner was served earlier than other places which started at about 08: 00 p.m. Because in the dining hall tent all residents of various tents were to complete their dinner one after another batch and to finish by 09: 30 p.m. As because the lights in the camp are being provided from 07: 30 p.m. To 09: 30 p.m. As these are provided by power stored by solar cell.
The dinner hall tent was hot as there was arrangements for heating and we enjoyed a beautiful dinner with rice, roti, dal, sabji which were very tasty.
Though we got light up to 09: 55 p.m. And then went to bed in full dark tent and there was severe cold outside but we had a nice sleep and wake up next day in a Sunny Morning at about 06: 00 a.m.
In our breakfast we had bread omlette with sauce and tea after which we started for Manali and bid farewell to our beautiful camp site.
Visited chandrataal lake in june 22 with a stay at parasol camps by a wonderful person Bhishan Thakur ji. The entire experience of stay was so great that a yearning to go and stay there again asap. Such a warm welcome, wonderful stay, hygienic n tasty food all add up to the experience. The get together time to sit n share experiences in a tent around warm fire in such a cold sorroundings gives an ethereal experience. Highly recommend for the persons serching a real time heavenly experience.
The camp is the best option to stay in Chandra Taal considering the cold weather conditions. This is the only camp which provides hot water supply and that is all managed by solar. Bhishan bhai is very supportive and takes care of you considering hard conditions there. The tent is very well managed with chairs, table, plenty of blankets and will give you every comfort. Attached toilet with running hot water is a life saver:) We reached there in afternoon when lunch time was over but still they provided us with quick simple lunch to help us for trek to Chandra taal. Dinner, breakfast all meals were amazing and staff is very caring and helpful!
Would definitely recommend Parasol camp over other camps!
Tbvh, Parasol Camps are hands down the best in business! The camps were super cosy & warm along with the hygienic attached washrooms! There’s absolutely a homely taste in their food menu & the host Neil bhaiya, was super engaging with everyone of us & made our star-gazing & Milky Way spotting super fun in the midnight! Once again, thankyou for the services!

Visited Parasol Camps back in 2016 and again in 2022 and I can’t recommend it enough to everyone who wants to visit Chandratal!
In 2016 Bishan ji, a kind soul, offered me a ride from Manali till the camp and generously offered me the night stay and food. That experience truly made me believe in the kindness of strangers!
In 2022, I visited with friends and were again presented with top-notch services. Even though we could not make a booking earlier, Bishan ji still hosted us. Amazing food, super cozy tent with attached bathrooms and great hospitality. It’s also fun to meet & chill w other travellers. Do not miss out on this experience!
Best camping experience I ever had. Facilities, food and staff were amazing, they also served us specially made kahwa tea and veg soup to prevent altitude sickness. Got to meet Neel (owner of Parasol Camps) who is an amazing person and a great storyteller as well and made our experience even better. Do make sure to book in advance.
