Prashar Lake - Sunshine Himalayan Camp

It takes 2&1/2 hours to reach from Mandi, n i feel the distance kills the pleasure of the place. But it's beautiful and serene and calm.
Loved the green and nature around.

Prashar lake is a hidden Hamlet in Himachal located near Mandi. Private bus is available to reacg there. Also one can go there by trekking. The trek route is marvelous. Prashar lake is place where you can experience green bugial, forests and snow peaks at far. The lake is mythologically important. A round shape island is rotating around the lake due to some unknown reason. But the depth of this lake is still unknown. It is said that the father of famous
Bedvyas (the writer of Mahabharata) Prashar muni who meditated sittting on the rotating island. A famous festival is hosted here every year. An ancient temole is situated beside the lake. The architect on the wall of this temole is really commendable. If you reach on the hill near to this lake you can experience the magnificent view of there area, that makes an exoerience of a lifetime. During monsoon it looks attractive greenery. In snow time full area covered with white snow except the lake, makes this a special appearance and is October to Nov is looks golden coloured. So one should experience this once.

This place is in Mandi (35km from IIT Mandi). A very sacred place. This temple devotes Parashar Rishi. Some camp sites are also there. If anyone is visiting Mandi must visit here.

A freshwater lake located 50km (approx) from the Holy City of Himachal Pradesh, Mandi.
You will be passing through picturesque valley / landscape
Roads towards the lake are very much narrow, cautious driving is advised

Very peaceful place for visit.if you like the place where no public, its a right place for you to visit. >!

Difficult terrain to reach this place due to curvy damaged roads. But worth the visit. It cool / calm temple place & scene of mountain are worth of life time.

If you want to have a thrilling ride I suggest this place. The views you get here I’m sure you won’t seen them anywhere

It is a awesome place for trekking and night was quite and calm. Must visit during April May and Jan Feb time. Once you will get green mountain view. And once you will get white snow.

It's serene and the people here are just amazing. Located above 9000 feet this place is really windy and cold and like all such places is absolutely unpredictable in terms of weather.

Parashar is a very good place. Here you see natural beauty.the weather here is very pleasant. Many visitors from India nd also from other countries come here to enjoy its natural beauty. But the food quality is not good here if you want to fully enjoy than bring your food nd cook urself

Beautiful place near Kullu and Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. You can get bus from Mandi to go there. You can visit this place in any season but one must avoid during snow fall. Road is good and you can drive your own car to this beautiful place. Holly place for the villages surrounding this place and this place has a renounced place in the history as well.

If you want to be in in the laps of mother nature, amidst golden snow capped mountains and full resolution starry night sky, you've hit spot on!

Beauty at it best all season
Worth every single step and tiring journey from Delhi to Mandi and then to Prashar lake.

Its 3-4 hrs of journey from Mandi via local bus. Cost around 88/- so think before boarding that expensive taxi.
There is only 1 route plying for this lake visit by state transport.
Route Timings: 7: 45am - 11: 15/20 am
Same bus will start return journey from there after 2 hrs i.e. 1: 15/20pm.
If you miss this bus, then taxis are only option which cost around 2500/- for back to Mandi.

Oh by the way they do have lodging facilities next to Mandir and do not charge for staying; you need to pay only for blanket (20/- for one) and pay for food which is quite cheap (rajma chawal and parantha with tea - must try)

One of the most picturesque places ever. Serene, calm and majestically beautiful. The road is also not bad in shape, your day to day city vehicles can easily ply from Mandi. The best time to visit is September- November. Do carry ample clothes as the height of lake is around 8700 ft and nestled in the plateau like lake is 13th century temple dedicated to Sage Prashar.

Actually there is not a camp site like Prashar Lake sun shine at this point. They are fake and there is no existance of a place or point there. Please remove this location and help more tourists. If u want to confirm, you can get help through the reviews of this location. Everyone telling about Parasher lake not about camp.

Best nature experience, do explore it. Avoid during rainy season and durring extreme winters. Now many guest house vailable at good rates.
