Rajkumari Amritkaur Guest House aiims

This relatively unknown place in Summer Hill Shimla is the one I read about in some book about Shimla and was determined to explore while studying in H.p University.
Summer hill is really a place where you can go for Heritage walks as the place is still one of the quietest, cleanest and greenest places in Shimla and house to many British Era Castles and houses most well known amongst them of course Indian Institute of Advanced Studies

The House Rather a Kothi as it was called then certainly wasnot maintained very well, when i visited some 30 yrs ago and but i remember it boasted of really luxurious bathrooms.
To think of a heritage building once the home of India's first Health minister in such condition was certainly disheartening even then for me.
My memory of the place is very faint.still and i donot exactly recall why i visited the place right after reading the book yes Bapu stayed there

Beautiful architecture of the british times.it is within the campus of Himachal Pradesh University, Summer hill, Shimla.

Nice guest house, need to book in advance, food is like home only.located in summer hill.

One of the most beautiful place in shimla, located in the heart of Himachal Pradesh University in summer hill. It's Rajkumari Amrit Kaur s bunglow which she donate to Aiims new delhi. Currently Aiims employees comes here for holidays. Guest house located in a very cool n calm place, surrounded by beautiful views. Once u visit there, I m dam sure that u ll never want to come back. Staff of this guest house is very polite, anytime if u need any help they will be available. Rooms are neat n tidey. I thoughroly enjoy my entire 4 days trip.

Very boring guest house.
Far from mall road, far from every tourist spot.
Poorly maintained in every aspect.
Bed is bad, washroom is bad.
Every thing is bad except the room where Gandhiji used to stay.
The head/manager is very rude and have ego issues.
