General advice to those who visit rohtang pass.
#Dont purchase anything there. Plan everything before going there. Things like face cover ear protection, gloves, leather shoes you can buy in Delhi. Here it is very costly.

#Dont fall in the trap of photographers. These cheaters first tell you that you can take any number of photos. I said I want only 15 photos. But he captured 85 photos and ask me 4k. I said I want to choose the photos and I chose roughly it came 35. Again I told him to show me the photos and I will select 15 from this. But he said you can't see the photos twice and I have very less charge in my camera. I said I don't want the photos then he came back and agreed to give 20 photos. But what went wrong here is he sent the photos which I did not select. So all the photos were useless except few.

#Try to enjoy maximum here. You can visit here anytime.

#Dont allow sports Jeep and tourist guides near to you

Its a beautiful place a 5 star is less its so beautifully managed and well constructed and hygienic people are so helpful and so down to earth to help us know more and its so memorable thing i visited

Cant explain my experience of watching that sunrise. It felt like a showering of different emotions all at a time. Just one thing and that is Life is more in Manali, than in Delhi.

The pass is open from May to November. It is not particularly high or difficult to cross on foot by Himalayan standards, but it has a well-deserved reputation for being dangerous because of unpredictable snowstorms and blizzards. [7]

This pass is an ancient trade route between the people on either side of Pir Panjal. The local name for this pass is a generic name of pass. [citation needed] There are many other passes in Lahaul and Spiti which have specific names (Kunzam La, Baralacha La, etc.). This is suggestive of the fact that this must have been the oldest and most frequented pass in the region, or the fact that it is the main pass leading from one cultural region to another, quite different one, to the north. The name Rohtang comes from Persian/ Farsi words Ruh+ Tang which means pile of dead bodies. [citation needed]

The former National Highway 21 (NH 21, now numbered NH 3), the road through the Kullu Valley, terminates at Manali. The road northwards over the Rohtang Pass to Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district and on to Leh in Ladakh is not a national highway. Nonetheless, the Leh-Manali Highway has become very busy during the summer months as an alternate military route since the Kargil Conflict in 1999. Traffic jams are common as military vehicles, trucks, and goods carriers try to navigate the tight roads and rough terrain, compounded by snow and ice at certain points and the large number of tourist vehicles.

Great experience and had a great time there, although traffic jams were quiet frequent even in off seasons and some time particular time of the days like around 9am daily, suggestion leave hotel at 3am and you'll have like 3hours to roam at the destination from 6-8am, POST for permit checking opens at 5am.

Unable to go there it was closed. They didn't refund my money of registration. Management is very bad.

It's one of the most beautiful place in the world we have our own Swiss alps and it was very relaxing and cannot explain the peak of mountain's covered with snow and the fresh air did it all it made my day.

The first pass that most of us come across as tourists from the plains, Rohtang has a large meadow and is fairly commercialised to not be able to completely comprehend the dread of the location.you can easily get access to maggi, tea or some other dishes to satiate your stomach and also get some good pictures clicked (caveat: there's going to be too many people and cars in the background).

We cycled from Manali to Rohtang and the ride was scenic, beautiful and tiring.

Awesome place. You will see live snowfall️️ here. Mountains ️ with snow covered all over the place is a gem to watch. Road to this place is very dangerous and only local drivers are experienced to ride here. Take winter clothes from local people by rent. You can do winter sports activities like skiing.

No words or camera can justify the beauty of this heaven! The meaning of Rohtang could be scary but this place is more beautiful ️ A must-visit! I have been here 3 times in different seasons like Summers, Monsoon, and Autumn. All the time weather was amazing with different scenic beauty!

It was great experience.it's far above the sea level.some people might get vomiting sensation in the way. So many rides and options are there.no toilets.so make urself ready as per that.also choose the cloths wisely.very small place for skiing but guides are good.ice is also dirty but views will be good.

I have been there only once. And it was one hell of an adventure. And when we were coming back to manali. It begans to snow.

Awesome place with awesome view at 13000 ft. Gets really chilly and cold at nights even in summers. Otherwise snow clad near winter months. The road towards the pass from Atal Tunnel is also well maintained. Just remember to book for a pass online before going there. It costs Rs 550. And there are no network signals at the top. Only Jio work there that too before starting the climb.

Rohtang Pass is a high mountain pass on Manali Ladakh route. It is approx 55Km away from manali. But time taken to reach Rohtang pass from Manali is approx 5 to 6 hours. This pass is connected to Kullu, Spiti, Lahual Valley of Himachal Pradesh. If you love snowfall, you should go there in month of November-February.

We visited this place when highly winter and nobody their to visit. This makes us feel more awesome.
4 start for beautiful natural. Not Giving 5 beautiful of dangerous beauty. Road are so slippery because of snow. Temperatures drop upto -6°c to -20°c in Evening and night seems deadly.
Also get your medicine, water, food and vehicle ready and fine.

The best place in the whole himachal.where you can get best quality snow and also.here in this place.you can ski.and play with snow.as here the whole.year it snow fall here.
And also during September February duration it snows as heavy that your whole leg will get covered by snow.
So you can understand the thickness of the snow.here.
The rohtang pass is situated at high altitude.
If u visit manali.shimla.do come here once.if u go back home without visiting rohtang.then trust me u gonna regret.
The rohtang is closed during very cold days of nov to jan.

One of the awesomest space to enjoy snow near Delhi. Though snow can be bit dirty. Before going their cab driver will take u to get a coat, or suit and boots. Please wear warm enough you will need not to buy any trench suit. Though suggest to take rubber boots definitely since snow is slippery there. Please avoid doing any funny stunts.

Best place on earth, I feel Himachal Pradesh is heaven on earth. It was soo beautiful and such a scenic views 360 degrees.
This place suits group of friends as well as for solo trip. It is a safe place and not to worry about.
You will have to take a jeep or other mode of transport, Maggi and coffee is the best available option you get there.
Once u reach the tip it’s a beautiful view and also can notice mountain ranges of China (as explained by guide). If you like snow fall and enjoy cold weather it is the best place.

Superb place to visit to feel the chilly snowy touch of Himalayas and few adventurous games you can find nearby. Dosent matter what season is it dont forget wo wear heavy warm clothes or you can get them on rent from nearby shops.

The gate way to another dimension. Everything changes once you cross this pass on your way from Manali. Narrow roads with sharp turns and loose gravel on the road reigned by huge trucks, can be challenging at times

10* for this location. Amazing it was because it was totaly empty. No one was there and i was so happy that this Rohtang was a place where u cant reach due to heavy traffic and all. But thanks to lockdown i found it totaly tourist free.

It was very lovely place.
When i reached there. Snowfall started it was awesome. There was a frozen lake as well. Temperature was very low around -1 degree C. The view from road was also amazing. Loved this place.rohtang pass at height of 13054 ft folrom sea level.

It is very beautiful and lovely place. First snowfall was experienced there. Everywhere snow attracted my mind and soul which removed cold from my body.

Another majestic place with its snow adorned hills and views to die for. Blues meeting the whites at the horizon with cold wind blowing and the feeling that makes you more connected. This place gives you all.

This is unbelievable tour and we spent our time at there and it was different part of our life i never see these types of hills in my life so I like it

One of the most visited places in India that also third highest motorable pass in the world at altitude of 13000ft above sea level.various kinds of sports are held here like sking, paragliding, snow sport and more. It is surrounded by very beautiful snowy mountains al l around with high peaks.really must visited place at least once in a life time.

One of the most exciting places to travel, and one should be there at least once in their life time, well if you are a rider and Traveller then you don't have limits to your happiness, you gonna spell bound with the wavy and curvy edges of the roads and thanks to BRO this organization makes everything happens for us, one of the best places of my travel form leh-manali highway make sure you stop for a snap.you will feel that tranquility when you spend few minutes over there at the top, and one cannot withstand more than few minutes as there will be less oxygen at higher altitudes, and the amazing views of the mountains makes your spine gives a chill, just make it a count.its gonna amuse you beyond your thoughts.

Do not Visit in the summer like I did, Still a beautiful place but it’s much prettier if you could visit it in the winters

A great amazing place of Himachal Pradesh. Hills covered with snow is the most attractive part of this place. Apart from that it seems that the deep blue sky is near to hand. During full moon the big Moon shows clearly on the sky with naked eyes. I enjoyed this place very much with my family. But due to the lack of oxygen breathing problems occurred. But don't worry, hot coffee gives relief which is available here. You can also bring yourself. I have had A great experience.

Just a gateway to the breathtaking views of Lahaul-Spiti.

If you often travel to Ladakh vai Rohtang you will find this place typical over crowded and touristy. Badly managed traffic by local authorities. It's a put off place and a shadow of what it once was.

Historically it's part of the silk trade route, a pass over the Pirpanjal range of mountains at over 13000 feet above mean sea level. The air is thin here so if your body is not acclimatized for high altitude don't stay here beyond one hour. Rohtang also means pile of dead bodies may be because during the silk route trade era lot of travelers would have died here due to tough conditions.

Now for the fun part. There are plenty of local small time adventure experience operators who organize adventure sports here like Snow Slide; Snow sledding; Even Skiing etc. Also try of some local hawkers selling hot steaming tea; grams etc. Go well prepared for extreme cold weather, with jackets; woolens; head caps; UV protected Sun Glasses; Snow Shoe; Woolen Socks; Sun Screen etc.

Awesome place. Everyone should visit atleast once in their lifetime. Roads are difficult to reach. Actually very risky.with lot of hair pin bends.new drivers cannot go there.it is very difficult.experienced drivers are required.nice to have Maggi.after roaming around.

This place is heaven. The view from here is just phenomenal. The snow covered mountains and the picturesque valleys are awe inspiring. Not just the place itself but the journey from manali to rohtang is magnificent. You can literally see clouds floating around you plus there are a lot of waterfalls on the way but you will need to get a special permit to visit this place.

It is most beautiful place in India. It has the most natural habitat and snow fall is often.seen during winter. The Rohtag has bull.which are larger than elephants.

Rohtang pass is always a must watch place in Manali. BUT i went there in May and there was nothing. Only in the far mountains snow can be seen whereas absolutely no snow is there where the travel guides and drivers will take you to, only rocks and pebbles. So guys if your going in May to September months then just think and go. Coz the drivers will always tell you fake things. Otherwise it is a very beautiful and scenic place where you can spend a considerable amount of time with your family members and friends.
