No conviiniences of any kind
One star is only of the tasty meal served at night

The location was stunning but the hygiene left a lot to be desired. The bathrooms were filthy, no lights in the bathrooms post lights out. But the food that they served was good.

They have recently moved to a new location away from all the other camps (most pics you see are from old camp) and we did not like our stay. The tents were in bad shape. The beds were okaish but the washroom did not even have proper flush! The food was the only good aspect but being so away in a secluded area did not feel very comfortable. Not a very pleasant stay

I visited chandertal last year with my friends and stayed in samsong camp. The camp is nearest to lake and hospitality is amazing. Staff is friendly and food is just like home. Hiegenic camp I totaly vouch for samsong camp.

They shifted the original camps to another location, we had to stay there which was quite far from Lake and other camps. Hygiene was 1 star. Filthy washrooms, no water in flush, no arrangement for any kind of hot water, electricity was barely available. They said they'll switch on the lights till 10 but actually switched it off at 9. No arrangement of any bulb in washroom. Only good thing was food. We were just wishing the night would go fast.
Not recommended!

Wow what a experience, its worth visiting and staying the Samsong Camp near Chandartaal Lake. The place is awesome and the hospitality rendered by the staff at camp is amazing. Specially Mr. Rajesh looks after the guests in a very professional manner.

One of the best camp in chandratal in means of stay and comfort.the food quality is awasome.we visited the property in the month of march the stay was good.the camp consist of pool and good facility.worth stay and travel with mice.

I had booked at the camp, but had to cancel as my spouse would have high altitude issues. Rajesh ji, the owner was very prompt to refund booking amount. I hope some other time I will be staying at this camp.

I will never recommend this camp as service provide by them are worst.stay is not even well behavied and not even lisiting to orders.and in package of breakfast n dinner they dnt have even sufficent amount of food items to fullfill to customers.and didnt even services ud breakfast.it waste of money to stay here.even after paying full amount in advance

Camps were really warm and comfortable. The food was even more amazing overall I had the best experience.

The owner doesn’t deserve to be in the hospitality industry. While making the booking, when I asked for cancellation policy, he gave no response and started ignoring. As I was in a hurry I paid the advance amount. Today I had to cancel the booking due to a medical emergency for my mom and the guy didn’t even pick up the phone or answer the WhatsApp messages regarding the refund. Mind it, I wasn’t even expecting the full refund. No one should stay at this place ever.

One of the best camps in chandratal area.

I would highlight some points here:
1) It's just beside the chandratal check post. Located along with few other camps at the nearest area to the Lake as permitted for camping.
2) The tents are very comfortable & adequately shielded from the cold.
3) The food menu is simple, but very hearty & delicious. It was vegetarian though.
4) The best part is the service and staff, they are just simply amazing people, living to serve the customer their best services. They are lovely and very polite people.
5) They provide hot water to drink and unlimited tea whenever asked for.
6) Over all it was nice experience to stay there, I would recommend this to everyone.

We had a great and enjoyable experience at Samsong Camp, Chandrataal. Mr. Rajesh manages the camp. He was very courteous and made us comfortable since I was travelling with my child. It's highly commendable how they make arrangements at such a cold place at 14000 ft. The food served included both dinner and breakfast and it tasted like home food. The morning tea was served at 5: 30 am.

Very good environment, neat and clean camp facilities are very good behaviour of staff was very nice.they r very cooperative.we enjoyed their food.must visit there.we were there on 28 and 29th of May.very cool.

Stayed with them for 1D1N. Quality of their tents was good. Food was great considering they are providing good quality food in such extreme conditions with no electricity and network in the region. Their staff service was quite prompt. Your can give them a try. Thanks guys!

We have stayed here very near to lake hospitality was awesome we have asked for hot water as soon as we reached they have arranged in this remote location getting hot water is biggest task. They have served Hot Water, Tea. Dinner awas awesome as a location concern light food. Breakfast was also superp. Staff was also very co-operative. We Recommend Samsong Camp for Stay

They treat very bad at the time of checkout in morning.
Break fast also served was worst at our group visit in May 2022.
Preferably choose other camps just adjacent to it.

Samsong camp is one the poorly managed camps I have ever come across. Our car was stuck in the famous Nala on our way to this camp and nobody from the camp came over to help us and moreover we paid 2300 advance amt for Swiss tents. When we entered the camp we were told that the our booked tent was sold to somebody else, we argued and then they put us in a different tent and believe me the tent was very small to accommodate 4 people and moreover those tents belonged to the workers of the tents and not clean at all.
The bedsheets were smelling like anything and the tent was in a messy state.
We couldn’t sleep the entire night and had to adjust in the tent as it was freezing outside.

We spoke to the Samsong camp owner later and we asked for the refund but he ignored us and didn’t pay us back for the inconvenience.

Guys be aware about the camp.

Amid the dry and overwhelming landscape of Chandertal there are many tents and camps strewn around for visitors. We had a chance to stay at the Samsong Camp. The place is nice with spacious and comfortable tents the can house 2-3 guests. The stay includes breakfast and dinner. The tent manager Kuldeep is a sweet and courteous person who is always smiling despite punishing weather conditions. It can get very cold at times, especially in the night. They arrange for a bukhari in the dining tent. Food was basic yet delicious. A good option to spend a night or two while venturing into Chandertal.

Best tents in that area. The receptionist is one man army for all kind of services. Great work by the receptionist. We were 5 in our group and everyone is happy with their services.
