Attention all climbers looking for magnificent blocks/routes in India Sethan is the destination you need!
The hostel run by Sunil is the place where climbers stay and after a month's stay I simply have nothing to complain about this accommodation, everything is perfect, I recommend it!

I stayed here for a couple of days in the third week of Jan! The snow made everything so much more colder, but also extremely surreal! In this cold, the thing that gave the most warmth was the wholesome home-cooked meal! I had Siddu and Rajma Chaawal and Aloo ki Sabji, with tasty chapaatis! And omg, what Aloo Paratha!
The stay was also very cozy and homely. Ample amount of blankets and good space!
10/10 would go again!

Very very cozy stay. Amazing host. Super friendly, tells you great stories, keeps you super engaged. The food they offered was super super tasty. They also taught us snowboarding, took us for tube ride. All super fun. They are very warm and welcoming. Treated us like family. We met some life long friends in them. And don't forget to meet Jimmy, Bela, Whiskey and all their cute husky friends:)

I loved my stay at Sethan Bouldering Hostel. Sunil Ji and His Entire family was super welcoming and were the best possible host. They helped us in all sort of way. We were lucky enough to see live snowfall and this place has all the arrangements right from shoes, Jackets and woolen socks which you would need. Best part was the Sidhu and dinner prepared by Sunil Ji's wife and mother. Trust me it was one of the best food I've ever had. They felt like family and sethan felt like home. Will definitely visit again

I totally enjoyed my 2 day stay at Sethan Bouldering Hostel. The owner Sunil Ji's hospitality is amazing. The food was scrumptious, I must say! Aunty prepared the perfect food. I had a great interaction with the host family. Played football with Mr. Sunil's son and the other local kids. Mr. Sunil personally took care of our trip experience and because of him we witnessed a lovely snowfall at the Mountain summit. He's a great guy with good knowledge of the Himalayas. I had met very few good hosts like Mr. Sunil.
I would highly recommend this place. Loved the home prepared food and the stay.

Sethan Bouldering Hostel is one of the best homestays I’ve ever stayed in and probably the best in Sethan, and not because of its facilities, amenities and location, but beacuse of the wonderful and warm hospitality of Mr. Sunil and his lovely family. There were 4 of us who were given a large room with comfortable bedding and blankets.
The room was neat, tidy and cozy and kept us warm and comfortable even when the temperatures dropped to -15 degrees. This was due to the wood and mud construction style of the building and also due to the presence of a desi heating pipe which went through the room and kept it warm for most part of the day. Adding to the comfort were some beautiful views awaiting in the morning and on a full moon night, right outside your windows. You may not get a phone network here (which is good), but the property has a stable wi-fi connection.
The property shares a common washroom which was clean and functional all day, with 24 hours running (hot) water (literally). The water in the pipes freezes in most of the properties during the winters due to sub-zero temperatures, but we had water all throughout our stay. The washroom even has a motion sensor light, so you may enjoy a bit of dance while in there.
The food (homemade) was prepared by Mr. Sunil’s lovely mother and wife and it was just like “Ghar ka khana”. When they came to know that two of us were fasting, they prepared food of our choice and served it before their usual time. Even the price of the food was very reasonable.
In the morning, you may get your snow suits at a nominal rent from the shop below and play your heart out in them. If you insist Tenzin (Sunil’s son), he may teach you snowboarding as well.
The location of the property is exactly at the centre of Sethan, just opposite to the Monastry. Mr. Sunil offers pickup and drop from Manali in his 4x4 Gypsy on request.
If you’re going to Sethan, take a few days of time with you and stay at a local homestay intead of a lodge/hotel. Our trip was made even more memorable with this beautiful family at Sethan Bouldering Hostel.

Am thankful to Sunil Bodh and his family for their warmth and hospitality during my stay with them. Homely environment, cozy stay and finger licking meals during our stay. Sethan is a hidden gem and it needs to explored with an expert like Sunilbhai.

Sethan Bouldering hostel is simply the best place to stay. A home far away from home. A family away from family. Run by really hardworking and hospitable people (Sunil Bodh and his family) they provide cozy wooden rooms at affordable rates along with delicious home cooked food. During winters they also make igloo. I personally would visit this place again. Beautiful place, hospitable and humble people, quaint lifestyle. Winters make this place more surreal.

I love this place to stay in sethan because you get stay with the best family in town, who make amazing fresh local foods, including fiddle head fern pickle and special chutneys. Sunil, is super helpful and knows a lot about nature, local landscape along with local wildlife and plant knowledge.

It was the most beautiful experience. I was treated like family, and was given a lot of love. The whole stay was homely, and I can’t wait to go back! Thanks to them, we were able to stay happily for a long time.

This was one of the best stays I had in the mountains. Sunil and his family are amazing hosts, so kind, helpful and always there to support if anything needed. The food cooked by auntie was totally amazing, really loved the food. The best part of the whole stay for me was the sunset and sunrise views from the balcony. The rooms and bathrooms are on shared basis but everything is kept so neat and tidy, it's like you are in a home away from home. Till the last minute we didn't want to leave sethan just because of the lovely stay and food.

2700km away from home and Sunil & family made us feel more cosy and loved. We truly are grateful to them for giving us a cosy and clean accommodation with unending cups of tea and phulkas + hot dal chawal on cold winter evenings!

And Sunil goes all the way to ensuring you have a memorable stay. And interacting with his son, Tenzin is the cherry on the cake. Such vibrant young boy and keeps you on your feet throughout your stay.

One of the best experience I had in my eight plus years of himalayan traveling. Sunil and his family is amazing and treated everyone as their own family, with care and love for fellow human beings. I will definitely miss playing football with kunkhen. Looking forward to seeing you all soon

One of the most amazing places I’ve stayed. The place is beautiful, delicious home made food, pleasant hospitality and the mesmerising views. The host and his family are very kind and generous.
Must visit place and during winters its more beautiful with all the snow.

It is not just a place to stay for the purpose of bouldering as one can stay here all year around and expect great hospitality. Visited this place around the winters, during which time they offered stay in igloos. They stay in the igloo was good and the owners made sure all our needs were made. The main highlight of this place is the hospitality that the owners provide as they make lip smacking food and cater to all the requests made by the guests such as transport, water repellent winter clothing to aid in roaming around, etc. Apart from this one can visit this place to chill around the property and enjoy mesmerizing views. The rooms are also good with great views of the valley below and mountains of the opposite range.

Had a brilliant time at Sethan bouldering hostel thanks to Sunil and his family. Everything is reasonably priced and the home cooked food was really good! I felt totally at home and would definitely come back if I was in Sethan again. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for cozy budget friendly food and accommodation. The plus side is that you get to meet a lot of amazing climbers and outdoor sports enthusiasts, for whom Sethan bouldering hostel has become a home away from home. All the best Sunil bhai ji! Sethan bouldering hostel is one of the best place to stay if you want to enjoy and feel the experience of pure pahadi culture. The outstanding view outside the room makes the visit more beautiful. This homestay is one of the best I've stayed in Himachal. Amazing hosts Sunil and his son makes the experience even more wonderful. Whole family is a bunch of lively people, who will show you around in this quaint village and serve you the best food. A combo rare to find these days! A must visit whenever someone visit Manali or plan a trek to Hampta Pass. Don't forget to stay in Igloo for the night.

If you want to be pampered, and cared for during your time off climbing, this is the place to be. Really good home cooked meals and comfy accomodation.

The place is located in the lap of nature, away from the hustle-bustle in Sethan around 13 km away from Manali. One can expect the best of hospitality with finger-licking food. They have a couple of very huge wooden rooms with all major amenities like electric kettle, n number of charging sockets, electric iron, which is very hard to find in a quaint village-like Sethan. The prices are cheap compared to the quality of the stay they are offering. Mr Sunil Bodh (owner of the property) can help pick and drop using his Gypsy. He helps with all major adventure activities one can indulge in Sethan like snowboarding, skiing, bouldering (specialist). I have never stayed at a better place in a quaint and uninhabited village of Himachal Pradesh where you can cut off from the world and enjoy the mother nature. Plus if you are a dog lover you have a chance to meet the cutest pet of theirs Jimmy.

Amazing place and view. But the most beautiful thing to go for is the warmth shown by Sunil bhai and his family. And don't forget to meet Kunkhyen! He is the star of our visit! Our little guide!

Excellent homestay at a very beautiful place. The views are mesmerizing and the stay and food is great. Sunil bhai is a very good and experienced host. Highly recommended if you are visiting Sethan. Now they have started Igloo stay which you get at the best prices in the village.

It was a wonderful experience in the Igloo stay. Sunil Bodh runs this place and a homestay as well, he took great care of us from pickup to drop, provided good food and facilities, shared his igloo building experience and bouldering training.we have spent the new year's eve there and snow activities the next day. You can enjoy a stunning sunset view near this place.

It was amazing to stay in igloo with Sethan bouldering hostel, run by Sunil bodh. He is a great coordinator and provided amazing food and facilities at the place. We were also given hot water bottles that keep us warm inside the igloo, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the beautiful place in Sethan valley.
Definitely a must visit.
