The Mandir is located at the highest point of Mandi District. There is no roof on the temple. One has to climb approx 1000 stairs to reach the Devi Mandir. The view from the top is beautiful. Was lucky to witness light snowfall even in October. Must visit
I visited Shikari Mata Mandir in October 2023, and it was an amazing experience. The temple is located approximately 18 kilometers from Janjehali and sits at an elevation of 3359 meters. This temple is often referred to as the crown of Mandi district due to its highest peak status.
Shikari Mata Temple, situated atop Shikari Shikhar, is a roofless temple established by the Pandavas. It is said that the sage Markandeya meditated here for many years.
Visitors can explore various trekking routes to Chindi, Janjehali, and more from Shikari. From temple you can witness the mountain ranges of Shimla, Kangra, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti. The serene atmosphere on the way and the Deodar forests are truly captivating for the soul. A must-visit for nature lovers and trekkers.
One of the most beautiful places in Himachal Pradesh I have visited so far. To go up to the temple, there are steep stairs. But in the end there is a marvellous experience.
Shikari Devi Temple is a Hindu shrine located located atop Shikari Devi Peak, the highest peak in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh at an elevation of 3359 m. It is a popular pilgrimage site in Himachal and one of the must-see attractions in Mandi for trekkers.

Beautiful serene place. Journey is hectic. Avail professional driver services. If having motion sickness take premedications. If possible plan a stay to really enjoy the beauty of this place
I recommend this place to all the nature lovers to visit. And those who love to know about the interesting history of the places you must go there. There temple is situated in a very beautiful place. And there is no roof on the temple. It is the belief that mata doesn't allow to cover the temple with roof so everytime when it was covered, next day the roof is founded broken. And it is also says that not any single thing can pass from the top of the area
Thick forests on the way to Shikari peak are amazing. Being the highest peak of Mandi District it is also called Crown of Mandi. Vast green pastures, captivating sunrise and sunset, panoramic view of snow ranges make this place favorite to nature lovers. The place receives a lot of snow during winters. On the Shikari peak, there is a roofless temple of Shikari Devi, the Goddess of hunters and this temple is said to be established (Sathapit) by Pandavas. It is said that sage Markanday also meditated at this place for number of years. It has been observed that despite the fact that temple has no roof, no snow is spotted in temple premises during winters when the entire region around this temple is covered upto several feet by snow.

A heavenly Adobe totally pollution free a vast topmost jungle with Himalayan Flora and fauna. The temple is inside the shikari Devi wildlife santury Temple is dedicated to shikari mata. It is also known that the temple is built and found by pandavas. Also a shakteepeth where matas hair had fallen. The amazing thing about this temple is that there is no roof on the temple.it was tried to built a roof many times but all in vain due to matas power even snow doesn't fall on the area of main temple.when outside there is a lot of snow.
Must visit temple. Visited in january trek from janjheli to temple was an amazing experience. People off the village are too polite and helpful. Was guided by the local resident he was too helpful and guided us all the way till temple explaining the history of the temple and nearby villages.
A small temple of godess shikari devi at open place at aprox 3200 meterd with beautiful scenery. Easily accessible with 500 steps. Good place to visit near mandi, H. P
Located at an altitude of approx 3200 meter shikari mata temple is a holiest place in mandi district. It's also the highest peak of mandi. This temple belongs to the time's of Pandav. We went to temple from the devidarh village on foot. Its a 9-10 km trek through the forest. It took us four and half hour to reach at the top.
Tradition of himachal pradesh India very lovely place there are almost 500 steps And the Temple is located @11000 fits of height from see level and there are condition of oxygen cause of height
Awesome place, 500 stairs to climb, and only expert driver can take car to top of the road (16 km from janjaheli), better to hire taxi from janjehali instead of booking taxi from midway, as difficult to drive on that road specially for small ground clearance cars, but yet temple is awesome, 360 degree view is awesome, one forget his all tiredness after reaching temple of shikari mata.
Beautiful serenic views ️ pleasant weather, nature's lap. It is around 16 kms from janjheli and around 48kms from baglasyad. The road is good for small vehicles unless there's no rainfall otherwise small vehicles are not preferable. But the road is too conjusted to pass two vehicles at a time in the last 6-8 kms especially. Around 15-20 minutes trekk from where the vehicles last stops.
A great temple with many secret powers Temple without roof, snowfall never comes inside the temple nobody knows the logic behind it The mountain is very rich in medicinal plants Jai mata di
Situated at the height of 2800 metres from sea level. The roofless shrine of Shikari Devi is an ancient structure believed to be from the time of the pandavas who came in this region during their exile.
