Must visit places in Shimla. You can visit here by trek by Car and also by taking the Gondola from the Mall Road. I went there by my own car. It's a beautiful temple on Jakhoo Parvat at 8050 feets height with a huge Hanuman ji statue which can be seen from most of Shimla also. People from all ages can visit and pay devotion to Lord Hanuman. Restaurant and Restroom facilities available in Temple Compound. Kids can also enjoy it as there is a small kids zone there. The only thing is you have to be careful with monkeys.

Definitely worth the hike, recommend to go early in the morning so you'll get to enjoy nice views and cool weather.

Shimla trip is incomplete without a visit to the Jhakoo temple! This is the highest point in Shimla and the 100+ ft huge statue of Lord Hanumanji is visible from almost any part of the city. The temple is accessible via ropeway, a car or a trek up the mountain. If you're coming by car, please note that the road hike is pretty steep with hair pin curves and during rush hours it might be difficult to navigate your car up and down the slopes. Also, don't carry any valuables or baggage to the temple as there are a lot of monkeys in and around the temple; they don't harm you as such.

Cafe under tree here serves good quality food but customer experience is very poor, long delays in orders even when there is no rush. However you will like the place, amidst forests and on the hill top. The only caution is don't feed the monkeys here, they could be dangerous sometimes.

One can easily spot this temple from all over Shimla, and this magnificent holy place is at Kufri. I suggest you park your vehicle at the hotel and rent a local cab if you're going with your family or friends, the road is motorable on a two-wheeler for four-wheelers it is a bit tedious, it's a narrow one-way road to the temple. The moment you reach the gate, you will see monkeys around. Keep your sunglasses, wallet, any bag at a safe place or stay vigilant if you're carrying some food with you. The formation of the temple is a miracle. The steps have Hanuman Chalisa phrases and other religious scripts. Upon reaching the top, there's this grandeur statue of Hanuman Ji. This spot attracts a lot of tourists. On the other side of the statue is the famous Jakhu temple. Pray with peace and look around at the 360° serene Himalayan range outside the temple.

This is an amazing location!
The mall road is only 2.5 kilometres distant. There is also a ropeway for that location, however it is preferable to walk in. Because of the snowfall, January is the best month to visit.

Himachal is known for it's temple and jhaku is one of them, situated at the top of shimla, the sight seeing is so awesome you don't want to take off your eyes from the nature.

The last stretch by car is really scary. I would recommend people use the cable car. Otherwise the trek is really lovely for those who like hiking.

This is an iconic place in Shimla and has loads of Hindu history associated with it.
The path to the temple via Sanjauli is steep and there are taxis available here.
Walkway is well maintained and it needs a decent fitness level to reach here on foot.
We used to visit here on every Shimla trip and cherish the memories today even after almost 15 years.
The temple is well built and a huge statue of Hanuman ji welcomes the devotees.
Views from the top are awesome and it can get really cold even on a sunny day due to high altitude.
Monkeys are present in huge numbers on the top of the hill so extra caution needs to be taken to keep belongings safe.
One cannot miss this place while visiting Shimla.
These days the ropeway has made access easier.

Hanuman temple is located at the highest peak of Shimla. While going to bring Sanjeevani booti, lord Hanuman had stayed here. To reach here, you may get into the cable car available from The ridge or walk upto the top point. Path isn't that easy. It's very steap climb. If u don't have much endurance, I would recommend to go via cable car. We climbed up but our endurance was tested. After reaching at the temple, it was worth it. Be aware of monkeys and try not to keep anything in hands. Views are amazing. Go and enjoy the beauty of Shimla from the top.

Very well maintained temple. Beware of Monkeys, don't carry any packets to the temple. This one of the oldest temples in Shimla.if you wish to use your own vehicle; chose a smaller car, since the turns on the final approach road are really steep and very sharp for a low power car it may be impossible to climb and maneuver.

The stairs is near to the christ church, and would be the shortest distance.
I would recommend to walk, although its a long way to walk and climb, but it will be worth.
Pro tip- if you're visiting Jakhoo temple for prayer then you must go early because the crowd is way too much to handle. Also, there are a lot of monkeys so keep a check on your stuffs as they often take it.

Morning is the best to be there according to me, less crowd and complete peaceful atmosphere.

If you traveling shimla then visit this temple. If you love mountain trekking then you should take a track from Ridge (Backside of church ️). A group of people should go via this route. Take care of the monkeys on the way and in the premises of temple.

Very good temple to visit, you can do a trek from mall road, it will take 30 to 60 minutes depending on your walking capacity. Lots of monkeys are there on the way and in the temple, so don't carry anything in a plastic cover, keep it in the bag.

The view is amazing and it's the highest point of Shimal and from here you can look at the whole town. The legend behind the temple is amazing and the temple is eye-catching. There is always a Langar on Sunday. The temple is in developing mode and the temple of Baba Balak nath is still under construction.however, the view is amazing, it becomes slippery when it snow so be careful.

A beautiful place to go to. You have to climb at least 30 stairs to reach the temple from where your car will drop you. Beware of monkeys. They will take away your belongings in exchange for food here. Even protect your spectacles also.
Toilet facilities are available here.
But go before the dusk, because after sunset you will not get cars from here.

It's an amazing temple with two ways or reaching; one is through taxi or your own car and another is for walking up to it. The second way is much much hard when there's snow accumulated on the way because that is so slippery you can't go easily with your normal shoes but the hardwork is worth it. It is top most place near the Shimla which famous as Jakhoo temple. It is visible from Shimla city only. If you are going by walk then there is rope way and if you have car or bike then you need to travel 5-6 km from Shimla city to jhakoo temple. This temple is of hindu religion god called hanuman. There is also a langar in temple where you can had a lunch.

Must visit the Jakhoo temple when you are in Simla. Hope below points are helpful for you. Though the distance is not much but you need to be in very good fitness to climb up as it’s very steep. The government runs shared taxis every half an hour behind the church which charges approx 20 per side per person. Coming back on foot is a good idea as you will enjoy the experience of nature

Temple needs cleanliness, shoes centre is most unorganised and needs improvement. One of our fellow tourist lost their high price shoes. Monkey menace is simply unbearable. Many accidents like monkeys biting are happening every day.

A good place but i wish there is some protection from the monkeys when you climb the small hill. Maybe the govt can think on having a mesh covered pathway for the public convenience.

Jakhoo temple is an ancient Hanuman temple and an around 2.5km from Shimla ridge at further heights. Its really fun to trek with friends from ridge to temple. The temple is bit crowded on Tuesdays and be cautious of the monkeys on your way to temple.

This is one of the highest place in shimla. You can see the view of full shimla from here. Please try reaching of your own if you have your own vehicle because its not even that worth how much the local taxis charge. You will hardly spend 30 mins here as there is not much to see.

Personally recommend not to take anything inside such as goggles or handbags as there are monkeyd that would snatch them right away. ELSE THE PLACE IS NICE WITH A GREAT VIEW.

Hanuman Temple located in Jakhu, Shimla is a world famous temple where people from all over the country and abroad come to visit. It is believed that during the Rama-Ravana war, when the idols of Laxman ji were riding, Hanuman ji was looking at the Yaksha Rishi doing penance here while going through the sky route towards the Himalayas to take Sanjivani herbs.

An awesome and sacred place, must visit if u r in shimla, there is a steep climbing of about 1.5 km from the ridge, visitors can also go there by using ropeway.

The place is soo beautiful, breathtaking. There's lots of monkeys they take everything from you. You were instructed beforehand to took off ur goggles, spectacles, caps, keep ur mobiles, cameras in ur pockets, otherwise monkeys can snatch. U can't feed or tease them. Don't take Ur shoes off outside. But the scenery is amazing from the top.

Do carefull when you go there they can snach everything even your spectacles and mobile (They did this in front of me). The public unveiling was officiated by Abhishek Bachchan.

Great feeling to be there. Very divine and peaceful. Take the lift (cable car) to the top to enjoy the trip to the temple. For elderly people there's a cab service too from the Mall Road.

Very beautiful place. Need to be careful of monkeys around. There are locker rooms for chappal or shoes make sure you keep them in lockers. Amazing sunset view from this place. There are shortcuts to reach this place from The Mall road, if you are an active person you can climb to this place over hiring a taxi.

Statue looks very beautiful it totally maintained by Himachal Pradesh Government it looks very nice after Snowfall.

Awesome place. The temple is located on very high altitude, its worth to go there by a car or taxi. There was lots of greenery and a park. You can enjoy clicking few shots there. Beware of monkeys. I enjoyed watching the statue of hanuman ji there, it was 108 feet long. Wasn't even possible to take a full shot of it from my cam:). Baba balaknath temple was in front of it. You can go there as well. Over all it was nice experience.

If you love hiking, go for a hike, or you may take a car or the ropeway up to the highest peak in Shimla, the Jakhu peak where a temple and this magnificent statue, which can be seen from all over Shimla, waits.but beware of monkeys.they might be a menace.
