Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple

This is a very holy place where Godess Kali worshiped Lord Shankar for centuries and Lord Shankar being pleased with her worship came here and appeared to her, that is why Lord Shankar is known as Kali Nath Kaleshwar. Lord Shiva and goddess Kali is only gathered in this place in whole universe. Shiva-Parvati are not gathered in Shivling anywhere in this world rather than this place, this is the only place where both can be seen and here is the place called Panchteerthi where five sacred rivers water available There is water of five holy rivers, but till date no one has been able to find out from where this water comes, many people come from Punjab, Haryana and far away states and get relief from their problems.

काली माता ने दानवों से देवताओं की कई बार रक्षा की थी। ऋग्‍वेद के अनुसार एक बार ऐसा हुआ कि दानवों का अंत करने के बाद भी मां काली का क्रोध शांत नहीं हुआ तो भोलेनाथ को स्‍वयं उनका क्रोध शांत करने के लिए आना पड़ा। यह स्‍थान किस जगह पर है? इसका बैसाखी से क्‍या संबंध है और यहां स्‍नान से पांच तीर्थों का पुण्‍य क्‍यों मिलता है? आइए इस बारे में व‍िस्‍तार से जानते हैं….

ऋग्‍वेद के अनुसार कांगड़ा के देहरा उपमंडल के कालेश्‍वर में ब्‍यास नदी के किनारे एक प्रस‍िद्ध कालीनाथ कालेश्‍वर महादेव मंदिर है। कथा मिलती है कि सतयुग में हिमाचल की श‍िवालिक पहाड़‍ियों में दैत्‍य जालंधर के आतंक से देवता, ऋषि-मुन‍ि सभी परेशान थे। सभी ने भगवान श्रीहर‍ि से इस समस्‍या का समाधान मांगा। तभी देवताओं, ऋषियों और मुनियों ने अपनी-अपनी शक्तियां प्रदान कीं। इससे महाकाली का जन्‍म हुआ। उन्‍होंने कुछ ही क्षणों में जालंधर और अन्‍य दैत्‍यों का नाश कर

कथा के अनुसार दैत्‍यों के संहार के बाद भी जब काली का क्रोध शांत नहीं हुआ तो भगवान शिव स्‍वयं पहुंचे। कथा के अनुसार वह युद्ध भूमि लेट गए और क्रोधित माता का पैर उनके ऊपर पड़ गया। देवी काली को जैसे ही इस बात का अहसास हुआ तो वह एकदम शांत हो गईं। लेकिन उन्‍हें बार-बार इस गलती का अफसोस होता रहा। प्रायश्चित करने के लिए वर्षों तक हिमालय पर व‍िचरती रहीं। एक दिन वह कालेश्‍वर में ब्‍यास नदी के किनारे बैठकर भगवान श‍िव का ध्‍यान करने लगीं। भोलेनाथ ने उस समय देवी काली को दर्शन दिए और उस स्‍थान पर ज्‍योर्तिलिंग की स्‍थापना की। तब से इस स्‍थान को काली और श‍िव यानी कि कालीनाथ कालेश्‍वर महादेव के नाम से जाना जाने लगा।

कालीनाथ कालेश्‍वर महादेव का इतिहास पांडवों से भी जुड़ा है। कथा मिलती है अज्ञातवास के दौरान पांडव जब यहां आए तो अपने साथ भारत के प्रस‍िद्ध तीर्थों प्रयाग, उज्‍जैन, नासिक और हरिद्वार और रामेश्‍वरम् का जल साथ में लेकर आए थे। तब उन्‍होंने इन पंचतीर्थों के जल को पूर्व से स्थित तालाब में डाल दिया। तब से इस स्‍थान को पंचतीर्थी के नाम से जाना जाने लगा। यूं तो पंचतीर्थी में स्‍नान का हमेशा ही पुण्‍य मिलता है लेकिन बैसाखी के द‍िन यहां स्‍नान करने से असंख्‍य पुण्‍य की प्राप्ति होती है

Om namah Shivay, well this is one of the oldest temple in the himachal pradesh. I visit this place in the morning. There is a lot of positive energy in the temple. Beas river is beside the temple with a very beautiful view. The shiv ling is different as found in other temples. Lot of shops are there at the entrance where you can purchase prasad. Ample of parking space is there to park your cars. I want to visit this place again and again. This temple is near to kangra so transport is not a problem to reach here. Roads are good. Highly recommend this place to each and every tourist, who is a shiv devotee. Must visit this place and seek Shiv blessing.
