Baba Balaknath ji meditated below Banyan Tree and graze the cows of Ratno mai side by side. He asked her to leave the bread and "Lassi" for him there for taking after meditation. Babaji committed with Ratno Mai to work for her as long she would remain satisfied. Everything remained smooth till twelve years. People started complaining the damage to crop field by the cows by the end of 12th year. Ratno Mai used to ignore such complaints but the complaint of village headman broke the patience of Ratno Mai and she started rebuking Babaji. So BabaJi took RatniMai and village headman to the field and miraculously there was no damage to the crops at all. Everybody was awestruck by this miracle. Babaji came back to his place of worship and asked RatniMai to take back her cows and let him go his way. Ratno Mai out of motherly affection tried to persuade BabaJi to stay back and reminded him about her providing bread and Lassi for 12 years. Babaji responded that it had been coincidental and further affirmed that he had kept all the bread and Lassi safely as he never consumed them. By saying that BabaJi threw his "Chimata" on the stem of banyan tree and the breads supplied for 12 years came out. He further struck the same "Chimata" on the earth and a spring of Lassi started coming out taking the shape of a pond and the place came to be known as "Shaha Talai".

Shops of non veg & wine & whisky are very heart broken bcoz of holi place.only one SBI ATM is working always.

Shahtalai gained importance because this was the place for Baba Balaknath's religious action and devotion. It is 64 km from Bilaspur and has temples of Baba Balaknath, Baba Bhritrahari, Guga Chauhan and Naharsingh on the banks of Saryali Khadd  (rivulet). By the side of the temples, there is smoke fire (Dhoona) of Baba.  Deotsidh temple is 5 km from here

The main temple of Sidh Baba Balak Nath is south of Hamirpur,  Himachal Pradesh in Deotyotsidh Forest. The temple is situated on Dholgiri hill and is just 4 km from base city Shahtalai.

This Place is 4 KM's away from Baba Balak Nath Temple on Hamirpur Una Road. In Ancient Times Balak Nath Ji Used to Worship here and Also took care of their Animals And spend whole day here only And There is also one tree Here which is believed that when Balak Nath Ji was asked by her mother about the food he eats and does nothing just praying in this Place So he just With the help of his trident Took out all the Rotis and Butter Milk (Lassi) from inside the Tree where he has stored. This place is very sacred because there Is one Tree where rotis are still shown in Statue and There is one lassi pond where Lassi is kept and people worship here. So for 12 years Baba Balak Nath Ji used to worship here and Kept those Rotis And Milk Which is believed to be Sacred and That's the greatness of God. It is believed that if you are visiting Baba Balak Nath Ji Cave You must visit Shahtalai Before So your Yatra is complete And Also there is one tree approx 500 metres from Shahtalai Where there is Garna Tree where you have to tie one Thread asking God about your one wish and God completed those wishes of Devotees. Temple situated at himachal pradesh, 70 km from UNA district. Crowd is too much and way is narrow. Best time to visit between september to november.

A place which helps you to get all your wishes come true if asked by pure heart. Though the place is handled by government, they are not able to handle the crowd properly and even the cleaniness should be a top priority there.overall a good place as it carries a religious value.

It's awesome, everything perfect, we can park our vehicles in Shahtalai which is about 2-3km away from exact temple location however during crowd and festival season you will only get the place for parking in Shahtalai. Rest the jrny to the temple is great, 18-20km road under construction and single so we should drive carefully.
