Sol Cafe

I love this place. After long travels I chanced upon this place in the main market. The coffee and cakes were so tasty and I also met very inspiring travellers here as well as volunteers from eco travel company Spiti Ecosphere. I heard so much about them and next time I I will come back to spiti and try their volunteering experience:)

Great place for backpackers. I trekked from Kyi and found this place an amazing stop to rest. Great atmosphere. Very quiet and had nice chat with the local staff and foreign volunteers.

Such a friendly vibe! Good food, the volunteers are also very much fun to have a chat with! <3

TripAdvisor created an over hype for this cafe but most of the dishes are below average and 40% of the menu is not available 80% of the time.

Sol Cafe is a hidden gem! Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and friendly staff make it the perfect spot to unwind.

Forget about their food or service which is btw best in Kaza, but the vibe and the experience is all going to give you a nostalgia when you reach home, thank you for hosting us like a family member…. Few minutes in and we forgot where were we sitting! Awesome experience, will visit Kaza just for Sol

We loved coming here and watching the movie/film screenings! Relaxed and cozy cafe in Kaza doing good things for Spiti:)

Quaint and pretty cafe, teaches you a lot about Spiti valley and the people of Kaza.
They have a great initiative ongoing, helping the locals, planting solar energy houses which can power a whole village, schools and housings.
Food is also great, must try the Tipsy Cake and Pizza, which is pretty good.
You can also buy handmade postcards, fridge magnets and chocolates.
Had the French press coffee in their terrace which has a view of the valley.

A lot of flys ruin the experience.pizza was good, coffee was ok, sandwiches were bad.the ambiance was ok.

Quenching my chocolate craving with a cake after I have completed my dinner from other restaurant. There was a lady volunteering the cafe. Ambience was pretty nice. Well decorated. Actually kind of book cafe as I feel. Cake was fulfilling but all items on the menu card were overpriced as per my opinion. It's a cafe so it had to be more pocket friendly. Overall I enjoyed there having my guilty pleasure!

I love Sol Cafè, it is one of the places that I always try to come back when I am in Kaza. This time was very nice again, nice meal, breakfast and teas, also to meet one of the volunteers Rishabh, he was so kind and nice with us! Great place to have a contemplative time and share time with other travellers. Thanks Ecosphere!

It has been my favourite place since my first visit at sol cafe. It gives you the comfortable home vibe no one can compete to. There are books to read, games to play, night movies and many more. The service provided is too good. Plus the spitian merchandise and other stuff they sell are worth buying. And even the volunteers who come there are amazing and too polite. I'd say the best place to visit. You won't regret visiting here.

Sol Cafe and their restaurant Tase of Spiti are run by extremely nice and helpful people, offering travel advice and telling you about life in Spiti. They are seving tasty, local, home-made foods, so the menu changes depending on the availability at the local market. Best of all they are supporting very important projects in the area!

My experience at Sol cafe was really excellent. In fact we were in kaza just 3 days and we went there 3 times). Everything shines. The place, the food and drinks, and the service. Rishabah was really really helpful and superfriendly. Thaaanks

The owner of the place is very nice and helpful. I wanted her to deliver cake for a birthday thingy but kaza does not have any cake delivery option. She somehow managed the delivery, just to help me surprise the birthday person.

Sol cafe is one place in Kaza where I am always sure I’m going to get quality food and great ambience. The energy of this place is totally different, thanks to the conscious efforts by its volunteers who engage their customers in useful conversations. You visit Sol with literally nothing and get out of it with loads of memories and information about Spiti. My special thanks to Nawang, who is the lead chef here, for all the amazing delicacies and to Rishabh, one of the most amazing persons I’ve met, who volunteered here during my course of stay.

A must visit cafe in kaza. The host at the time was Rishabh, gem of a person. Also had the opportunity to make good friends who made my stay there memorable.

This place is run by volunteers who take time out and help around for a month or two. It's placed in the middle of the city but still maintains its magic. The food was great and touched all the right spots:)

The ambience is amazing and the people working there are friendly and helpful. Great conversations, great vibe. Just overall an amazing experience. Wish we were there longer. Don't forget to ask for the hot chocolate if you ever visit! It will soothe your soul ️

This is the cafe which will give you urban vibes in such remote location. Cafe interior is very good, claims to eat local food but cafe doesn't serve any local food. If you want to taste same things what you get in the city you can visit here in kaza. We had an incident, cafe owner returned torn notes of 50rs in return after paying the bill. When we asked to replace notes, she denied and said they don't have any cash. 50rs is a very small amount and you can easily arrange another 50 by asking someone else or you can do gpay as they have gpay available.they didn't want to give us 50 back
It's very strange that you have to force people to buy items in your cafe because you don't have other 50. We didn't have time hence we didn't argue and took 2 small chocolates, which according to me was very expensive. So don't go with name and all fancy things, what you experience in cafe is very contradictory.

Came to this for a glass of Seabuckthorn Juice, left with knowledge why this cafe is so good, and spoiler - it's not the wonderful ambience or the service, it's conscientiousness of the hosts. I had double paid my bill, but the hosts who couldn't directly UPI me back took my payment and personally posted the IFSC manually at the bank. I think any cafe with diligent hosts is bound to be a favorite spot for lot of people.

Its was a good time with sol cafe in Kaza, It was fully functioning by volunteers they are being good with the work and service. It was a great initiative for Kaza development. The Money where been spend to rural development program.
