Old historic beautiful property but badly managed. Wish govt gives due consideration to upkeep of such historical places in Dalhousie.

Situated at Gandhi Chowk, this church is a reminder of our colonial past. Nice to visit however one has to remove footwear to go inside. The church grounds have really old and majestic pine trees. However plastic and garbage is strewn everywhere and we were surprised to find it unclean as we had visited on Easter Sunday.

इंडो ब्रिटिश स्थापत्य कला का शानदार शाहकार है यह चर्च। 1863 में बने इस चर्च में इबादत करने से सुकून मिला था । एंग्लिकन चर्च अब #CNI #Amritsar के पास है, एंग्लिकन प्रम्परा के मुताबिक चर्च की तामीर हुई थी. यह चर्च खुला रहता है masihi गाने बज रहे थे. खुली इबादत गाह देख कर अच्छा लगा.

Good place to visit. But desperately needs maintenance. Wooden Floor is about to collapse.

It is located at Gandhi chowk, it has alot of historical importance but need to be mentained well. With little bit of work it could add alot of value to it.

Proper structure of the chapel was built in 1863 before which it was a wooden structure. The idea to build a stone structure for the chapel took place in 1863 when Rev. John H. Pratt arrived at Dalhousie. He inspired the tourist Christian Protestant missionaries to build a permanent church building at this place. The architecture of the church is similar to the Roman Catholic's Church of England; the only difference is that the St. John's Church belongs to the Protestants community.

This Protestant Church is filled with the memories of the British regime in Dalhousie, and is an embodiment of the Victorian era. If the tourists happen to be art lovers, nature enthusiasts or avid readers, then this is the place to be. The calm and composed chapel is dedicated to St. John. Inside the chapel, there are dramatic glass paintings of St. John and St Peter. Within the church building, there is a library as well which houses a rich collection of rare book and photography. If you are in the Dalhousie then you can visit it. But it have peace which now a days needed by the humans.

If you want to feel the history you should visit this place. This place is really going to ambarass you. I insist you to stay at Banikhet instead of Dullhousie as Banikhet is more connected and also has a bus stand. If you stay there you can go to chamba easily as well as dullhousie. It has more food options and is a quiet cheaper than dullhousie. Hotels are really awesome. Beleive me.

We went in spring season.the architecture is quite good. There were lots of flowers blooming around that time.you feel peaceful and serene in this place
