In middle of the night found a big spider rolling on my blanket,
thank that i was awake it did not harm my 1.5 year old baby.spider webs in the room. Food quality was awful that me and my wife both were having cramps in the morning and decided to take breakfast from other place.

My younger brother's wedding was on May 2nd and 3rd, 2023 and it was the best day of our life and we had a blast. Mostly we have Sterling banquet and hotel to thank- the place was clean, organized, food was great and everything well served. Neha Mehra, Nisha Thakur, Sanjeev Kumar and other staff gave their utmost care and concern and made sure our event was well managed and coordinated. I have had dozens of family members call and compliment on how beautiful the hall was and how great the food and service was.
Every table was serviced by a very nice and attentive stuff, my guests felt good and well take. Huge thank you to hotel staff. We felt safe and happy that we chose Sterling banquet to celebrate our special day.

I would highly recommend this venue for your event!

Excellent property. Well maintained spacious rooms with neatly decorated gorgeous furniture. Food is awesome. One must stay here to experience the superiority.

I and my wife had opportunity to avail of the services of the restaurant in this beautiful hotel. Must say that the food served there was of excellent quality and the service was absolutely personalised.
Even if one dos not stay in this hotel, try and have a meal there and enjoy.

Positives: we received warm welcome at reception. Neha was so polite and humble. Best person in the hotel. Rooms are good and view from 3 floor is amazing.

Negatives: at night by mistake we left the key in the room and room got locked. We called at reception no one answered and even we went downstairs and looking for someone for help however no was there to help so finally we all (6 people) slept in 1 room.

We I told this to guy in hotel he said that is your mistake that you left the key inside. He was very rude.

Overall good stay and my all 3 stars are just for Neha mam at reception.

Worst experience. Hotel staff has no manners to talk. A girl named Neha is very rude and toxic person and working there as manager. Will post a detailed review about that later.

I visited this in June vacations and it was unforgettable experience for me. The hotel staff was so courteous and helpful in every way possible.
The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms were neat and clean.
Coming to the food quality, it was superb and delicious. Their chefs are fantabulous.
I will be staying here again in next year vacation.

Sterling Banquet and hotel

I have booked this hotel for my own wedding (April 2022). Since I work outside India so all the bookings and viewings happened virtually. I would like to give a detailed and honest review.

1. Pre-booking: Online booking and viewings of hotel rooms by video calls were hassle-free and convenient.

2. Room cleanliness: They have a range of rooms like premium, deluxe and suites and some cottages. The suites which are on the 4th floor are maintained properly but the entry is via a tap card which stopped working during the wedding ceremony time and it created a lot of chaos at that time.
Premium and deluxe rooms are lesser maintained, and my guests complained about the dirty bedsheets (someone's hair on the bedsheet).
Cottages were a disappointment, there were 3 rooms, 2 on the first floor which was a little tidier than the 3rd room on the ground floor. The ground floor needs maintenance and looked like a very old room. The bathroom doesn't have buckets and other necessities which my guests have to ask for after they arrive. Similar was the condition with another cottage which they call pink cottage, absolute disappointment.

3. Food: The food was nice and everyone liked it. The service was good too, and there was no shortage of food or any complaints that I heard.

4. Over commitment: The staff in-charge of handling the entire event over-committed a lot of things because of which there were a lot of mismanagements. I will share the worst experience as a bride that I had:

Mismanagement at the Salon: I have booked the makeup for 10 people and one for me (bridal). The baraat was supposed to be on time, and I have told them repeatedly that the groom side will be on time which was 6 pm. I along with 4 of my family members went to the salon at 1 pm. To our surprise and disappointment, we couldn't get ready by 6 pm, in the end, everything was rushed (like my nail paint wasn't even done, I had different shades on my feet and hand, the dupatta was not properly attached, etc.).

Since we were late the groom and family were already waiting to enter the wedding hall, one of my sisters rushed there to welcome them while my other sister missed the ceremony. Similarly, my friends missed my engagement session because they couldn't get ready in the parlor. I felt like crying. The sterling staff absolutely ruined the beginning of the wedding event, and this was all because the staff in-charge over-committed while the salon staff was just not enough. I still paid the whole parlor charges.

5. Overcharged expenses: Don't go by the price they mention on the website 'wedmegood', 850 for non veg, for the wedding gala dinner the charges will be almost 3 times. They rushed us to pay the full money one day before the wedding day. Please pay full attention to what you are paying for, they might charge some extra money (which happened with us).

6. The staff management is very poor. I had to tell some things to like 3 people, and the communication among the staff was below average. It looks like they were unable to manage a bigger gathering of about 150 people.

Great hotel to stay neet nd clean, i enjoyed a lot must visit little bit expensive, book from MMT

It's a great midway spot on the long way journey from Amritsar or Delhi, for people travelling by road. It's placed in Palampur, where you can stay overnight and with refreshed mood and body you can continue your journey to Manali. Another great place of worship Baijnath temple is very near from this place, which has a great importance in Hindu religion.

Probably among the best hotels couldn't stay in it because it was all fully booked parking space was too great with in the hotel gate so one didn't has to worry about!

They offer adventure holidays covering Trekking, night stay in tents with forest about 6000 ft MSL, combined with Para-jumping from Billing to BIR and very comfortable rooms.
Food was great, nice budget & customised packages available.

All amenities are their, two water bottle complimentary for the guest

Good hotel to stay. Always try to get their cottages if available. They've only 2 of those and most of the time they are already booked.

We spent a good quality time here, clean and green environment, kids friendly, good staff, mr Aseem, manager there is very helpful. Food really delicious and everything is up to date

Nice venue to stay. Luxurious rooms. Excellent facility and Humble staff to make you feel comfortable and homely. Specially Mr. Aseem manager very cooperative.

Superb hotel. Had an amazing time attending a friend's marriage. Excellent staff. Food quality and particularly the kangri dham was just superb. Full stars to this hotel. Very friendly and helpful owner too.

We organised our son's wedding functions including reception here. All outstation guests were also accommodated at the Hotel. All functions were immaculately organised with adequate staff.
Piping hot delicious food was served both during lunch as well as dinner. Guests staying at the hotel were full of praise for the highly competent, polite and efficient staff. The staff made every one feel at home and looked after. Here is a big thank you to everyone at Sterling for the excellent services rendered.

Nice place to stay in outer Palampur

Very warm hospitality, nice clean, large rooms, with wide balconies facing snowclad mountain.

Food is good, staff is well behaved, and well managed by Hotel Management and in particular Ms Poonam, she knows taking ownership is key in hospitality industry.

I had choosed sterling for my wedding. Amazing place decorations are beautiful. Services was good hotel staff was well professional. Food, DJ was nice. My friends and family was happy with the services so thank you and Special thanks to poonam kaur who manage everything so nicely. I surely recommend this place to my friends nd family.

We booked this place in May for my sister's wedding on 12 December. While booking, the General Manager Poonam Kaur mentioned that we can be sure of the quality and think of the management and function as it is happening at our own house.
Our entire family travelled from all over to stay at Sterling Banquet and resort and without doubt we had a lovely time. We didn't feel as if we were managing a destination wedding away from our hometown Jammu. Every minute detail was taken care of by Poonam herself as she stayed awake nights with the family for all important functions. I have never seen anyone get so involved in a guest event.
It was the most important event for us and it was managed very smoothly despite all the challenges; it kept raining, snowed nearby, it was cold and difficult at times but I never heard anyone complain about the hardships. We hardly meet people who deal with hardships wearing a smile. Special thanks to Poonam for spearheading all arrangements and management. I am deeply satisfied and impressed. Our entire family has come back with smiles and not even a single mishap over the course of 5-6 days. Food was great as well.
The owner Mr. Awasthi was involved himself as he got us the right aesthetic decor and supervised the arrangements himself. Special thanks to Praveen ji and Sakshi for being such strong pillars of support throughout. Staff was really courteous and helpful.
It is nice to note that people keep their word even after getting the money. As my company also manages events, I can affirmatively say that Mr. Awasthi and Poonam know their business well and they do care about the requirements and promises made to the guests.

Our one night stay at Sterling Banquet and Hotel in Nov. 2018 was amazing. It is a very neat and clean place. Rooms are very spacious and well maintained. Linen is quite satisfactory. View of snow covered mountains from the balcony of the rooms is really fascinating. Quality of food is very good. The staff is very polite and cooperating. Ms. Poonam Kaur, the manager, showed us the Banquet Hall which is very elegant and spacious. She told in detail regarding destination marriages being organised there. The chandeliers on the roof, dishes, flower arrangement and everything presented a marvelous look. We are grateful to Ms. Poonam Kaur who left no stone unturned to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Above all, in comparison to the facilities provided, the room tariff is very reasonable.
