Surkhang homestay

A home away from home. We were on winter Spiti trip and reached the home stay when the temperatures outside were in minus 20s. But this home stay seemed like a heaven.

The rooms are cozy and warm. Food was very very delicious. Especially, gajar ka halwa was exceptionally awesome. The owner of the home stay is very friendly and humorous. We enjoyed and loved the stay

Top notch hospitality. The common room with the wood burner is really cozy and warm. They also have wood burners in each room which makes the extreme cold a bit more bearable at night. The food they made was also really good.

The hospitality and food is awesome. They have cozy beds with heating facility. Our host Kunga was very helpful throughout and we had no complains

Home away from home. The stay was awesome. Amazing food, amazing tea and clean rooms. Washrooms were every clean. Given the scarcity of running water in peak winters of Dec/Jan, the host ensured hot water whenever requested for. Electric blankets available. Very close proximity to Kaza market. This homestay is located near the main market of Kaza and the property is very cosy with a very local ambience.

The hosts are very calme ans welcoming at a time.
Room are very spacious, full of flufy sofas.
The attached WC rooms are fairy clean, so is the Common one - in the afternoon.

The worst experience ever. Instead of solving the problem the host only had one thing to say, if not happy you can leave the stay. The host doesn't have bare minimum knowledge of hospitality or manners. That's even when we reached at night 1 pm.
Worst experience, not recommended at all, especially if you are women.

A very good place to stay in kaza, the rooms were very clean and tidy, and the owner was also very cooperative and friendly, our whole stay was awesome don't find any difficulty plus the rooms were very budget friendly.

I stay at Surkhang Homestay 0n 24th May 2022 with my family. The homestay location, Rooms, Food was excellent. The owner is a lovely person. I recommend everyone if go to Kaza stay at Surkhang homestay.

If you're visiting Kaza definitely check in to this beautiful and welcoming home stay. Visited with family including my toddler and its a safe bet for any mother planning to travel with child. Hygiene is well maintained and warm stay with home cooked meal pipping hot from the pot. Chicken curry is must try and enjoy their famous and traditional khamiri roti. I assure you will carry warm and amazing memories back home.

Kunga is very welcoming guy, he tried his best to make me comfortable in Surkhang Homestay. During my time of stay, heavy snowfall happened and he used to keep burning tandoor and also cooked food since most of outside shops were closed for 2 days. It was really memorable time I spent there. Will wish to go to Spiti again and surely will stay at Surkhang, it has become like home

It was a pleasent experience to visit surkhang home stay at kaza. The hospitality is just awesome. The rooms are so big and beautiful that you won't be feeling to go outside and bhaia their is very nice, he takes care of every thing. You just say and he will be available for you.you will get to know much about the history of kaza from him.

Been traveling since a decade, from homestay to a luxurious hotel, never ever was overwhelmed by the hospitality of the host. Its has been a memorable experience.
The breakfast and dinner is served with warmth.

Very authentic homestay, clean, hygienic, and best of all, a humble host, must stay if one wants an ethnic experience!

We stayed here for 2 days without much expectation but the first experience was incredibly comfortable. They took care of each and every minor thing. They provided us the kettle, steamer, medicines as well as heater on demand without any charge. Kunga was the caretaker, he had many stories to share about the homestay. He was courteous and very polite.
The interior of the room were antique and well maintained, you wont feel the chilling temperature outside. And they're so welcoming that you feel like extending your stay. Food is delicious, location is beautiful, neat and clean property, proper hygiene. An ideal place for solo, friends and family.

I stayed at the Surkhang homestay in Kaza with my husband for two days (2nd April-4th April 2022)
The stay was pleasant, the vibe of the room was so antique and well maintained, clean corridors and awesome hot food. The owner Kunga is so welcoming and he took out time and sat together with us and shared his experience.

The terrace view is a must feel thing. Stay with them you will not have any regrets.

You will be amazed by the hospitality here. Kanga and Arun bhai are brilliant host. The food is lipsmacking. The view from terrace is mesmerizing.

Owner Kungaji is most decent behavior. We had electric blankets to sleep peacefully in chilled weather. Hot water provision also done onn request. Food also we had spiti traditional taste as well as north Indian like parathas dal rice also available.
