I found the school to be completely professional and adequate with the right set of faculties that are needed to help a student learn to operate a glider. While Manu Sir (the Commanding officer) led the learning cycle with his theories of physics and on air assistance, the 2 instructors Bhuppi Sir (Ustad ji) and Kiran groomed us to perfect our Launch. The 4 days of ground running not only made me loose 2-3 kgs but also helped me understand the criticalities of a Take off and how to avoid fail launches. My P1 and p2 with 4 solo flights assisted by Skylark and team was an amazing thing and I look forward to complete my P3 and P4 this year.

I'm doing my P1/P2/P3 with Skylark. The entire experience of ground training, simulation, theory & finally Flying was amazing & overwhelming at the same time. MANU SIR with his precise instructions guides you for perfect landing. Even if you are up in the air, he exactly knows your which break is up, how u are sitting in your harness best part is even when his 3 students are in the air he known each move of each student.
After landing is the debriefing part, where he let's you ask all your doubts and corrects your mistakes for a better flight next day.
I am 50 and believe me they treated me the same as any other student, it is THE Place to learn paragliding

A life changing Experience at Skylark School of Paragliding

I recently completed the P1 and P2 paragliding courses at Skylark School of Paragliding, and I cannot express enough how amazing this experience has been. From the instructors to the quality of the equipment, everything about this school has exceeded my expectations.

First and foremost, the instructors at Skylark are truly exceptional. Manu sir's flight physics and theory classes were comprehensive and insightful. He made complex concepts easy to understand, and his passion for paragliding was contagious. Hina mam's introductory classes were incredibly helpful in building a strong foundation, and her patience in answering all our questions was commendable.

Bhupi sir's ground training sessions were the highlight of my learning experience. He meticulously guided us through various techniques, ensuring that we mastered each one and engrained them in our muscle memory. I cannot thank Bhupi sir enough for his dedication and commitment to our progress.

Kiran sir, our takeoff instructor, deserves a special mention. He paid close attention to every factor, such as wind direction and intensity, before allowing us to take off. His expertise and vigilance ensured our safety during the critical moments of flight. I felt reassured knowing that Kiran sir was always there, guiding us through each takeoff.

The use of radios for communication was another aspect that impressed me. It allowed seamless communication between the instructors and the students, ensuring clear instructions and immediate feedback. This real-time communication greatly enhanced the learning process and instilled a sense of safety. We were guided by three instructirs during out flights from takeoff to turns to landings everystep was guided.

One thing that sets Skylark apart is their dedication to safety. Throughout the training, the instructors prioritized safety above all else. They meticulously checked the equipment before each flight, and the quality of the paragliding equipment provided by the school was top-notch. The equipment, sourced from the reputable European brand Advance, was reliable, well-maintained, and enhanced our overall flying experience.

One of the remarkable aspects of Skylark School of Paragliding was the diverse age group of participants, ranging from 20 to 60 years old. It was inspiring to see people from different walks of life coming together with a shared passion for paragliding. The instructors at Skylark understood that everyone learns at their own pace, and they ensured that each individual had a solid foundation through ground training before progressing to solo flights. It was incredible to witness the dedication and patience of both the instructors and the students, with some individuals taking up to 20 days to master the ground training. This inclusive and supportive environment fostered a sense of camaraderie and encouraged personal growth for every participant, regardless of age or previous experience.

Post-training, I can confidently say that this experience has positively impacted me as a person. Paragliding has taught me valuable life lessons such as patience, discipline, and perseverance. The sense of freedom and exhilaration I experienced while flying cannot be put into words. It has truly expanded my horizons and given me a newfound appreciation for nature and the beauty of the world from above.

In conclusion, my journey with Skylark School of Paragliding has been an absolute delight. I completed P2 level from SKYLARK paragliding school, birbilling. I'm doing P3 level. It is an amazing experience. I had always wanted to go paragliding, and when i finally went, i couldn't believe how amazing it is. It's honestly like flying! I personally had no adrenaline; it's really not that scary. But the view! I could see more miles! Everybody was so far below me. It was also better than an aeroplane because i could feel the wind on my skin and i was not confined to a window for viewing purposes. If you like rollercoasters and aren't afraid of heights, I would definitely recommend it.

I sincerely thanks to MANU sir, HINA mam, KIRAN sir and the entire team of SKYLARK school of paragliding. Because transforming confidence, knowledge and skills is an art. They did it.

They guide and let you take your time to feel comfortable with the tasks. They clarify all the doubts one may have no matter how many times you ask them. The kind of hardwork and efforts they put in on and off the field is commendable.

There's obviously a short version to this and a long one. For the ones who don't have the patience to read, here's all you need to know - Skylark is hands down the best school you could come to in Bir, and learn. There's no one more dedicated, knowledgeable and fun as the guys here. Period.
Trust me, you can't go wrong by choosing Skylark school of paragliding.

Now for the long story,
There I was travelling my heart out on my motorbike. I finished my Kanyakumari to Kashmir ride, ended up staying in Ladakh and exploring the ins and outs of it for about 4-5 months. Next up was Himachal. I had imagined about 2 to 3 months for the state. Obviously I wanted to experience paragliding in Bir too. I was in the state after all, wouldn't make any sense not to. But I had never imagined myself doing a course and becoming a pilot myself.
Cut to the accidental run in to a friend in Manali. After I exited Ladakh, Manali was supposed to be a one night stop before I headed to Kinnaur valley. But I wound up finding this marvellous property, which was quite literally cabin in the woods. This was the turning point for every rough plan I had. I bumped into an old friend here and learnt from him that he's a pilot now. I didn't know anything about the courses or levels as such. After listening to his stories, I got an itch to do it myself. Why let somebody else fly your glider when you can do it yourself right? I figured the feeling would be much more surreal.
Cut to reaching Bir and getting introduced to his school. He took me straight to Manu sir (The head instructor) and left me in his hands. Manu sir had me sit down with Hina ma'am to understand the whole prospect. A 30 to 45 mins fun talk with Hina ma'am solidified the idea in my head. I felt like this could be one of those sports that I'd really wanna pursue. God was that a good decision!
Everything from here was a blur. It happened so fast. Completing my P1 and P2 courses. My first flight. My advance (P3) course completion. Becoming a certified pilot. Buying my own glider and harness (thanks to Manu sir for setting up good deals). Phew! Everything happened so smoothly. Unplanned journeys are indeed the most beautiful ones. If this story doesn't tell you that, I don't know what will.
I've always been that guy who loves jumping into things. Somehow I have this blunt confidence that I can do whatever is thrown at me. No fear! But that's bad and I've realised that with age. Fear keeps you grounded (limited fear of course). It helps draw the line between confidence and over confidence. I clearly can't be trusted to do that. So having a team that could help identify my potential and keep me grounded at yhe same time with valuable feedback was of the utmost importance. This was paramount to say the least. Every school in Bir will tell you that they give individual attention, but I've seldom seen it tbh. But I kid you not, the guys here at Skylark are really capable of tailoring it for your capability. They understand very clearly that each and every individual has their own speed and style of learning. Given the fact that we are now adults, we're quite set in our ways. It's obvious that a generic approach of teaching and nursing can't be employed for every student. The understanding of this basic human nature is what makes the instructors here the absolute best.
Kiran bhai (our take off instructor) is probably the best pilot you'll find the game. He's just a 25 yo chap who at first look wouldn't throw a major impression on you. But his knowledge, skills and his capability to say the right words to you at the right time, set him apart from the rest. He'll help you like there's no tomorrow.
Honestly, I think the best start that you can get to paragliding is at Skylark. I'll say it again, there's no better place than this in Bir. Heck, I'd probably go a step ahead and say all of India too.
I can now proudly say that I'm a pilot (a childhood dream of mine) thanks to Skylark school of Paragliding!

If you’re reading this, it means you’ve decided to learn paragliding. Let me get straight to the point that when it comes to selection of school for such adventure sport, it’s really essential to do a complete homework on what works best for you.

I’ll giving a brief overview of my experience with Skylark. I learnt paragliding here and boy I couldn’t have made a better choice. It’s run by Manu sir, who truly is best when it comes to teaching the sport. He has also got an amazing team around him to assist him. There is Kiran bhai (take off instructor), certainly one of the finest pilots in Bir i’ve seen. Then there is Bhupi bhai (Ground training instructor), well he is an amazing story teller; once you get break from your training, sit with him and enjoy the stories. There is Hina ma’am, making life little easier for everyone, by taking care of many little and big things. There also is Anil, Bipin, Sonu and many more amazing folks to help you with.

Apart from this, cost is an important factor, for that let me assure you no other school will be able to match the ROI that skylark has to offer. What I’ve seen nonetheless, the bond they create is not business and customer; instead student and teacher. And do trust me when I say that you can not make no mistake by choosing Skylark.

PS. Even if you decide to learn from any other school, do take out some time to meet Manu sir. He is very easy to spot on the landing ground. (He wouldn’t charge for that). Thank me later

Skylark, one of the best schools for paragliding in Bir. I went there with a lot of adrenaline & curiosity as paragliding was completely new to me. And by the end of 2 weeks training period I can confidently call myself a paragliding pilot where I gained the confidence to take off, fly & land by myself. Best part of Skylark is, the team guides every individual with utmost care & alertness and also focus & work on the various technical weaknesses of every pilot. 14 days with Skylark was a constant learning curve where I gained so much knowledge about the sport by just being around Mr. Manu Bedi and keeping my 'Big Ears' open! Skylark is one of the finest training institute in India for learning paragliding. It conducts different courses starting with basics one week course (P1+P2) to advanced one (P3 & P4) ranging over a month. It includes theory classes about wind conditions, glider aerodynamics, emergency manoeuvre, landing techniques etc, ground training where we learn to control the gliders and finally the solo radio guided flying sessions. Mentors are skilled, helpful and friendly throughout the course.

One of the best school in Bir, I did my p1, p2 and p3 course from here and I had very good experience. I will be coming here for my p4 very soon. Instructors are exceptionally well as they teach flight physics as well which most of schools skips. Just Go for it guys

I did P1, P2, P3 courses with Mannu sir. I maintain it couldn't be much better (with any other teacher in Bir as well here at skylark). You are free to learn, take as much flight you want. He assist and guide at your own pace, he won't go to next step untill you master the previous one. He is very much aware of the risk and safety involved with the training. Even the on ground staff (to name few kiran bhai, Bhhupi bhai, Avinash bhai) Skylark has, are very awesome, helpful and witty. You will keep getting constant motivation from awesome Hina mam.

Forget everything and just go fo it.
Tandem paragliding or solo.just do it.
I went to bir billing in November 2021 to learn solo paragliding. Through a friend, We came to know about this Skylark paragliding school. They welcomed us very warmly, gave a brief picture of what they teach during the course. The head of the school, Mr. Manu Sir (Guruji) is a great human with a sea of knowledge of paragliding. He taught us everything of paragliding from the beginning, like anatomy of paragliding (by Hina mam the beautiful lady of bir), mechanism of how it works, Factors involved etc, gave us a long (really long) theory lecture on how to understand paragliding. We were taught how to run (yes!), how to lift the glider, and many more things what not to do (I never liked this though). All the other ground instructors were very helpful, experienced and determined to teach us everything before the first take off. Only after a successful ground test, you are allowed to go for your first take off. At the take off site, instructors will guide you for the take off (twice checked all the security measures, wind condition etc). Once you are in the air, you just need to follow the commands in your radio (Just hand your life to them in my words).
There are other schools as well but Skylark shines brighter than them all.
I am definitely going for the remaining of my course and you should too.
Even if you are going for just a tandem paragliding, this is the best place. (Ask for Thakur sab AKA Kiran boss, he is one of the safest and best pilot i saw on tandem).

Manu sir and his team does an excellent job of training. He makes effort to explain the concepts as well as practical training. There is lot of focus of safety. They encourage you to ask questions.
They are also very accommodating to different people's needs as some students do part time office work, some come with family etc
