Through online research I came to know about this place and I thought it would be a hyped restaurant/dhaba but when I had dinner it made me to combe back for breakfast.
If you are on the way to Kinnaur or Spiti then this could be a pitstop for you to make your belly full, food isn't oily at all and spice are in balance. I couldn't find any other decent restaurant on the way from Shimla to Kinnaur.
The food was relatively on the sweeter side. The Laccha paranthas and rotis are too good, all whole wheat. The Dhaba resembles a Himalayan biker cafe. It offers a wide coffee selection. The place sells good fridge magnets as souvenirs and apple made prickles and jams. The handwashing and washrooms were in good clean conditions.
Negi Dhaba in Narkanda is a hidden culinary gem that captures the essence of authentic Himachali cuisine amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayas. My recent visit to this rustic yet charming eatery left me with a deep appreciation for its simple yet soul-satisfying food.
The first thing that strikes you about Negi Dhaba is its location. Situated against a backdrop of lush green hills and snow-capped peaks, it offers a dining experience unlike any other. The view alone is worth the visit, and it creates a tranquil atmosphere that complements the food perfectly.
The menu at Negi Dhaba primarily features Himachali dishes, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the region. One standout dish that I tried was the Chana Madra, a creamy chickpea curry cooked in yogurt and a blend of aromatic spices. It was a delightful combination of flavors, with a subtle tanginess from the yogurt and a comforting creaminess.
Another must-try is the Dham, a traditional Himachali feast that includes a variety of dishes like Chana, Rajma, Sepu Badi, and more, served with rice. It's a wholesome and hearty meal that gives you a taste of the local culture.
The beauty of Negi Dhaba lies in its simplicity. The dishes are prepared with locally sourced ingredients, and the flavors are pure and unadulterated. It's a refreshing departure from the overly spiced and processed foods you often find in restaurants.
The hospitality of the staff adds to the overall experience. They are warm, friendly, and eager to share stories about Himachal Pradesh and its culinary traditions. It creates a sense of connection and authenticity that is often lacking in more commercial establishments.
In terms of pricing, Negi Dhaba is incredibly reasonable, considering the quality and quantity of food you receive. It's a place where you can enjoy a satisfying meal without straining your wallet.
In conclusion, Negi Dhaba in Narkanda is a culinary treasure that offers not only delectable Himachali cuisine but also a unique dining experience in the lap of nature. If you're a food enthusiast looking for a taste of authentic Himachali flavors and a serene mountain setting, Negi Dhaba is a destination worth exploring. It's a testament to the simple joys of regional cuisine and the beauty of the Himalayan landscape.
Food was above average. Service was third class despite not much customer load. The people serving there were reluctant to take orders. Not recommended due to poor service.
They are famous for thier good food, service at a good price. Many youtubers also prefer this place to eat. You can see the stickers of vlogers on thier gate. You should eat here if you are in Narkanda.
Just normal taste Who doesn't want to see such a view while eating food, who likes all this while eating food, please come here once and enjoy this beautiful view.
The service was so slow that my dog had a baby and then died. The food was so disgusting and terrible that I felt that I had COVID-19 and lost my sense of taste.
Good restaurant in an otherwise small town with very limited options. You can go there without looking for any other place. The view of the hills from inside tables was simply mesmerizing. The food was tasty and reasonably priced.
Have wonderful experience here. Delicious food. And negi bhaiya is so Wonderful person and host. Veg and non veg both options are there. And everything we ordered is tasty.
Best place to eat in Narkanda. The staff was very friendly and the food was extremely well for such a small village. Also there’s a great view from couple of tables.
This place is just awesome. Located on the main road in in main market. Seating is very comfortable. You can enjoy the breathtaking views of magnificent Himalaya snow mountain range from the window while sipping your coffee. Tandoori paneer paratha was yummy. Butter chicken and tea was also good. Service is prompt. Staff is very friendly and professional.
DO NOT VISIT ️️ Worst restaurant.service is supper slow and the food is even worst. Not properly cooked, no spices. They'll make you wait for 1 hour and then will serve disgusting food. We waited for 1 hr in bad weather and got half cooked or just boiled dal and cold breads. They charged more than Rs 750 for all that disgusting food. The lady owner was speaking nonsense when we complained about the food and services. She didn't even apologize instead she said go write bad reviews we don't care so here I'm writing my honest review.
I'll give 0 star if I can. They don't even deserve 1 star.
Don't stop here to eat, they server cold half cooked food after taking your order 1 hour before. Lady owner don't know how to talk with customers and have no sense. Food taste awful and they'll don even apologize for bad food and behaviour. Disgusting restaurant
We reached late and even it was closing time for them they were ready to serve. We liked most the items we ordered here. Everything tasted like home cooked food. What I liked most food was inexpensive. You get a lot in small cost.
I used to visit this place for daily breakfast when I was posted in narkanda in 2014, but when I visited last month there after six years, I was amazed when they served me bassi parantha's (to my utter disappointment), that too for rs 40 for one, and rs 30 for tiny curd bowl. It used to be way cheaper back then.
One of the better places to have food at Narkanda. Though service is bit slow, not recommended if you are in hurry. Parking is an issue as vehicles are not permitted to be parked in front of it.
On dated 27th July 2021, I visited this place with my wife for having breakfast. We ordered stuffed paranthas without onion, butter, curd & tea.
Order come with a complete hoch poch with onion, very old sour curd, tea in kulhad with heavy smell of detergent in tea clearly showing very low quality hygiene in kitchen by cook & other staff. Moreover they are reusing kulhad for tea serving after washing in detergent.ouch At wash basin water steam is very weak that unable to wash hand. On further enquiring it was found that toilets are closed for customers use. (Money saving strategies behalf of poor hygiene for customers)
So kindly ensure before ordering anything at this place.
Good points regarding this place is cost effective menu & lots of varieties are available for customers.
I will re review after few months (9-12) if I found any updates on their low hygiene quality.
This is one amazing place to eat in Narkanda on NH 5. The owners are really nice and they have been operational since 1950. You will get good tea, coffee, snacks and other cuisine here. Nothing fancy but well managed. They have a kiosk of Kotgath Fruit Bageecha jams/chutneys and also sell some locally sourced products.
A busy place on NH serving decent Indian food. Food quality is good if you are not expecting fine dining on the highway while traveling to Sangla. Service is extremely slow. If you are traveling in a bus, then avoid this place as you may miss the bus. Happened with me twice as due to slow service the bus left and I had to look for a cab to catch the bus!
The tandoori stuffed paranthas and fried rajma was just lipsmacking, staff and owner was courteous, at prime location in Narkanda, no matter a comparatively smaller establishment but still no compromise in Covid safety guidelines. This was my second visit in an year and God hopeful, I do want to visit again.
Located in the main market of Narkanda, this place is absolutely stunning. The place is hygenic and clean. The staff is quite courteous and the food is absolutely delicious. So whether it's breakfast, lunch or early dinner, you can enjoy your meal whilst gazing at the stunning view of the mountain range.
Only thing i like about the negi dhaba is there is such a very nice view from the daba.but the services are not good. And the food was ok ok below average i must say.
Food was good but service was horrible. Delayed delivery. We ordered lacha parantha and later on we ordered more, they guy says lacha parantha cannot be given again as it needs to be ordered in advance only. And we were in middle of our meals that time. It was funny and also surprising. The waiter tells after half an of the order that rice won't be available. Never will visit again. We did not eat to our fill and left because if pathetic service.
I was told about and taken to this restaurant by a local buddy Manjeet and there I realised myself that his high words for the place is not at all an exaggeration. This is an iconic restaurant with a rich legacy and a traditional ambience to top up the dining.
The only good restaurant or dhaba whatever you want to say, in Narkanda. The coffee was good and the view sitting at back was also good. Recommended a halt for food.
One of the very few eateries in the town. I visited almost everyday during my visit as options are very limited. Food is above average, it is served hot, quantity is good but lacks flavours. Service is a bit slow. Only accepts cash.
So this is the only place where you will get proper food when you are on your way to spiti valley. They serve the best food after Shimla till about Spiti. Amazing kadi pakora and chicken. The prices and very reasonable and the cost for 4 comes around 600. Only negative is that they don't have washrooms in premises. Get one washroom and charge people to use it as they desperately need one when they are going to spiti.
Very decent place for a quick meal, right in the central square of Narkanda. Popular with tourists and locals. We had the thali (north veg & non veg) and were not disappointed. Parking available in vicinity.
Good food at reasonable price. Awesome coffee. Probably best place to have food in Narkanda market. They are open since 1950. Non veg is not that good. Few food items were not that good but still decent place to have food.
Probably the best coffee after Shimla I ever had. Dinner lunch breakfast they serve it all. Tired mutton and roti that was amazing. Price was reasonable. Must try in Narkanda.
Awesome food, be ready for some waiting if you are there during peak time, but worth the wait. Try Chicken & Mutton. Service is surprisingly fast for Hill Station standards. Good quality food
Good food, good taste. The prices are also good as per quality. Enjoyed the dinner here. The environment is also comfortable for groups, as well as individuals.
