We had a wonderful stay at nomads cottage -losar. We were travelling with 5 dogs, the owner and staff have been very supportive to accommodate us comfortably. Food was prepared by the staff for us and the dogs everyday. Don’t forget to also try the local authentic cuisine - tingmo, tenthuk, momos are to die for! Such a warm and homely cottage. Highly recommended!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful home stay nestled in the midst of snow covered mountains. The experience was absolutely breathtaking and unforgettable.
The home stay is situated in a small village called Losar, accessible only through a narrow and winding road. The location was remote, but the scenic beauty surrounding it made up for the journey to get there. The snow covered mountains and the frozen water falls were a sight to behold.
Upon arrival, We were warmly welcomed by the hosts who were extremely friendly and hospitable. The home stay itself was cozy and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities available. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with a rustic charm that added to the overall experience.
The food served was delicious and made from locally sourced ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the traditional dishes specially the mutton that were cooked with great care and attention to detail. The hosts even arranged for a warm n cozy sitting area inside one of the rooms in the evening, which added to the charm of the home stay and made for a memorable experience.
One of the highlights of our stay was the opportunity to explore the surroundings. The hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and were able to guide us to some of the most scenic spots. The snow covered mountains, the frozen lakes and the breathtaking views made for an unforgettable experience.
Overall, I would highly recommend this home stay to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating break in the midst of nature. The remote location, combined with the warm hospitality of the hosts and the scenic beauty of the surroundings, make for an unforgettable experience that will stay with you long after you leave.
Recently I had my first ever experience visiting this amazing property with an fascinating view. The property is located inside a bijou village called Losar, even the way to this stunning property was through narrow and mesmerising roads but all the efforts put in was totally worth it.
If you want to discover your adventurous side while staying in a place which gives you homely vibes, then this place is must visit.
Especially the view around the stay is Mesmerising, you wake up to a place completely surrounded by snow capped mountains which feels like you are staying in a cotton ball region. The view and the atmosphere gives you heavenly vibes which is one of the most distinctive factor.
The hospitality and the sense of belongingness the staff and place gave to us was the most important reason for me feeling that this place is a must visit.
Lastly if you have a passion of driving then this experience is a must once in a lifetime.
If you're travelling from kaza to manali, you should stay here for a night. Electricity was provided for about 4-5 hours in the eve, which was enough to charge all our electronic equipments. So before manali, this is a perfect place for stay.
We visited the place this October. The day was after Dussehra. Location of this cottage was fantastic. Though the structure is quite old but the rooms are clean and well maintained.we booked two 360 degree view rooms. Views from these rooms were amazing. The staffs were courteous and ready to serve. LOSAR is a place on the way to Chandrataal and a must visit not only for its daytime beauty but also at night one can be busy in star gazing. The milky way is quite visible at times. The food, coziness and warmth all pleased us and last but not the least Mr. Duggal, the owner. A special thank to him from me and my family to help us out in a very difficult situation during the busy festive season. Genuine people and must visit place in the valley of Lahaul & Spiti.
Beautiful cottage. It is the single best place if one is coming from Manali side to Spiti Valley. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Rooms and linen are clean. The glass rooms have magnificent view of graceful Valley and snow clad mountains around
The owner from Delhi is a very stubborn and rude person We were trapped due to snow storms ahead and the owner kicked us out
The staff told us there was nothing to eat especially Maggie eggs everything was over and yet they served these dishes to the foreigners and we were empty stomach At last we told workers to at least give us boiled potatoes To eat
Just because you earn more from foreigners you cannot kick someone out when it's storming outside and roads are closed very bad service the local owner is a very good person a very generous and good guy but new owners are money minded people with zero knowledge of service
After knocking on his door in the middle of the night, Kevin recieved us with amazing hospitality and even made us a late dinner. The rooms where excellent and the food was great.
The rooms were good as it is home stay and not a hotel, and this is the most authentic type home stay that i find in Spiti Valley, not actually a home stay where you are staying with a family but seemed like a big house whose rooms are converted for hotel rooms and even the owner was staying there, when we reach there it was pretty cold (4°) and they had that typical fire burning in the dinning area which made us all comfortable, the rooms were good and the service excellent and food was also good, Since it is in small village there is electricity cut more often then it works so they have solar power generators and they store the electricity to use at night Excellent place in Spiti for a authentic home stay
The Glass rooms were good as it is home stay and not a hotel, and this is the most authentic type home stay that i find in Spiti Valley, not actually a home stay where you are staying with a family but seemed like a big house whose rooms are converted for hotel rooms, when we reach there it was pretty cold (-7°) and they had that typical fire burning in the dinning area which made us all comfortable, the rooms were good with ice mountain view and the service excellent and food was also good, Since it is in small village there is electricity cut more often then it works so they have solar power generators and they store the electricity to use at night. Excellent place in Spiti for a authentic home stay.
Got the Glass room for our group which has them best view from the property in Morning. Amazing hospitality and Food. Owner is quite chatty & friendly.worth staying.
Losar is a beautiful quaint little village with the most amazing views. Nomads cottage at Losar added to the comfortable stay with its large windows, cozy rooms and aesthetically done common room. We had a good relaxed stay before heading next day to chandertaal lake. Plan your itinerary to stopover at Losar- Nomad's cottage!
The first time I went to Spiti was in 2016. Got Sahil Duggal reference from a friend Sahil planned the full trip for my group and suggested that I stay at Losar Nomadic Cottage. Now at least once a year I visit Losar The rooms are clean and hygienic The staff always have a smile and are very helpful the food is amazing they arranged for lunch next to the river surrounded by snow capped mountains. Anyone traveling to Spiti i would highly suggest stay at Nomadic Cottage
Nomad's Cottage Losar is the best place if you're looking for Remote in its truest essense.
A quaint little village nestled in the cold mountian desert that surprisingly has Jio and Airtel working like a dream, if you want to work.
The village is beyond praise in the context of scenic beauty and the hospitality of the locals will absolutely melt your heart.
The staff makes delicious food and is so kind and attentive. I am a solo traveller and not once did I feel unsafe or unattended to at this homestay. The rooms are cosy and warm with view like you won't believe.
I'd recommend Nomad's Cottage to my closest of friends and family.
The place, especially the common area, has been designed very tastefully. Room was warm, had access to towels, blankets and hot water (through geyser). Mr. Duggal, the owner, was very helpful; not only did he ensure a smooth check-in, but he also took genuine interest in helping plan my trip in the valley. The local host was also very warm. Would definitely revisit.
We chose to stay in a glass room which was quite a good pick. However, we did not have a comfortable stay. The service was poor and the men present there needed repeated reminders. The gyser wasn’t working. There was no light throughout our stay. Another thing which was quite disappointing was the fact that the food was alacarte but per plate cost was being charged. It usually is in the case of a buffet and not alacarte. All in all very disappointing and not worth the price either of the property or the food.
A picturesque traditional house, surrounded by towering mountains. Good staff, neat and clean rooms. We had booked the entire place and realised it was quite a fun maze to figure. Their sitting room had the traditional bukhari that was thoroughly enjoyed by us.
