Lovely place to visit but extremely crowded. Young women and girls should not be left alone as they will be harassed. Two members of our party were followed by one man which turned into a couple of men. Police had to be called and even then they still lingered.

Great place. Ice creams here are too costly but the view when there is a little fog with moonlight and street lights in the evening!

For 2 or 3 days trip shimla is the best option. Weather is so good and view from ridge and mall road is awesome and for shopping purpose visit tibetian market or mall road

Shimla is best to visit in winter and summer as well but there is snowfall in winter and ridge maidan (ground) is a cool place to walk around best at evening time.

It's THE place to go in Shimla. You can stroll along the traffic free mall and enjoy the views, the architecture from the days of the Raj, the shops and bazaars and lots of restaurants. Take your time and enjoy the walk, it always has a relaxed holiday atmosphere.

The main water supply of Shimla comes from the huge water reservoir that is located in the Ridge. The Ridge is famous for the various government functions and fairs that are held here. It is usually the venue for all such celebrations and events. The most famous festival that is held at the Ridge is the Summer Festival. This famous festival is held during the months of April or May and the whole of Shimla comes alive with colors and a riot of activities.

This is the hub of Shimla. The centre point u can say. It is just above the mall road. U can get a good view of the entire hill station. Very beautiful and very well maintained. If u go there must have ice-cream over there. It's a altogether a different experience.

When it comes to talk about the Mall road of shimla, this is the hub of Shimla.the epicenter of the shimla for sure. It is just above the mall road. The whole of the shimla and the distant himalayan belts are easily visible from this place. Very beautiful and very well maintained. If u go there must have ice-cream over there. It's a altogether a different experience.

Shimla for me was known by two things at childhood ridge show I use to watch in dd shimla and capital of himachal, though I not got any opportunity in my schoolife to visit shimla but after school life I visited this place on independence day of that year. Best thing is level of intensity at this place. I didn't liked crowdy places but this place made me live crowdy places. And my college is near to shimla, so I visited this place again in Feb month, reason was snowfall and this place looks very beautiful after snowfall. Although you need to walk more to reach this place but is best place to visit in shimla. One interesting fact is that below ridge ground lies water tank which was builted by britishers when shimla was summer capital of india before 1947.

While you are in Shimla The Ridge is the best place to spend your time. Evenings are just awesome there. I live this place and I can spend hours roaming around there.
