The place is nestled in the quaint village of Chitkul and is just a 7-8 minute walk away from the bus stop. The view from each and every balcony, window, door is breathtaking in every season. The bunk beds were cozy, comfortable. The food they served was great! The highlight would be their super-friendly dogs - Pepper, her son Grumpy, his 5 little brothers and sisters, and Laila. What's more is that the Baspa river bank, the sunset view point are all nearby. The hosts Poorva and Arpit were warm, welcoming and guided us really well about where and when to go. Overall, created unforgettable memories there.
It was awesome time, I stay there for 3 nights and it was my first trip as a professional travelling vlogger, and laps stay make my trip awesome and easy going. Food was awesome specially the matar paneer yummm. Location is best in all, 5min walk from center of village and best place to stargazing. Friendly host, dorms was pretty. I will definitely recommend this place to stay in chhitkul.
It's a wonderful place to stay. Spl mention to the food that they have served. Their ginger lemon tea is a must have. We were 5 people who stayed here for a night. And it's all worth it. If you are planning to stay here, plan for atleast 2 nights. The village is beautiful and the stay enhances the experience. Definitely recommended.
LAP stays stands out being one of the most friendly, scenic and enjoyable home stays in the lap of the Chitkul Valley. Our first visit was welcomed by a starry night sky, a fluffy dog and the host who cared enough to guide us through the dark stoney path with a torch light.
The next morning, we were searching for some local sights and the host listed them one by one, after serving hot coffee on the centre table in the front courtyard. We enjoyed a heart warming conversation with her ; got to know how this small venture started and some new trekking paths were also revealed to us, which were exclusively discovered and even named by the owners.
To be honest, Chitkul remained embedded in our heart for this homestay. Definitely a visit, if someone wants to find an 'abode', rather than the usual crashing places in the trips.
We booked a 4 bed mixed dorm for ourselves. The stay was nice and so was the host Arpit who was very welcoming.we had a great time with other guests.overall recommended for a group of friends. Vibe hi alag hai Don't miss hawa Mahal and Grumpy!
If you're traveling in a group or solo, you should stay only here. Why? Firstly the views, secondly the warmth of Arpit and Poorva who are just best hosts you would need. The property is well maintained, neat and clean. The food served is hot and tasty served fresh from their kitchen. You would get to cuddle Grumpy too. Chitkul is not only about the akhri dhaba, it's so much more than that. To properly explore Chitkul, you should contact Arpit and stay here only.
I was great experience. The owner Arpit is friendly. You have to slightly walk (5min) to reach to the property. Awesome view and good food but only veg option.
It's a 10 mint hike from the road, location is great but the rooms aren't. Comparing the amount paid for the rooms, those weren't good enough. The slope in washroom wasn't correct. In windy situations rooms get very cold as there are gaps between the door/frame and in windows. Paints chipping off, no slippers were provided in the room. Should have an option for heated beds. Restaurant within the hotel is decent but prices are pretty high. My recommendation 3/5, just because of the vibe and views.
Poorva and Arpit are amazing hosts and the food was delicious. Really had a pleasant stay at their place and witnessed snowfall of the season. Would love to come back here!
Visited this place with 3 of my frnds on a very peak winter time bt they gave us very good hospitality and we had a great time spending over entire kinnaur district.special part was they took us on a hike around and gave us local informations which is bery memorable.we had lots of fun in snow. Location is great, views are majestic, they are super friendly and by staying one day we didn't wanted to go back.
Absolutely wonderful place to stay at Chitkul. Hosts are nice and welcoming. Rooms are warm and cozy. We stayed in January during extreme winter when temperature dipped below -10 C and enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend this place.
The owners behaviour was very good, he himself give us a tour to all the beautiful scenery located nearby to that place. The food facility was also pretty good at an affordable price. The intersting thing is that the snacks item was at the same price. The scenery was outstanding, I had never seen such view from naked eye. So overall it was a very good experience for me. I highly recommend to everyone to please visit this place atleast once if you love to travel.
Arpit, Avtar and Rajdeep were wonderful hosts. Good and affordable place to stay at if you visit Chitkul. Rooms and washrooms were clean and hygienic. Food was really good as well. The view from the stay is beautiful and scenic. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. They organize star gazing treks and also provide details on treks we can cover around the place. Safe for solo woman travellers as well
Had a wonderful and awesome vibes for hell of a enjoyment! Hosts, Arpith and Purva are so cool. Loved chitkul and wanderers nest. It was hard to move from there.
This place we stayed for a night. I will not recommend this place for family stay as they dont have basic amenities.good for bikers and for friends chill out.
Great hospitality. Neat property, with good hygiene. Stationed right in the middle of the village, above the bus stand. Great base to explore Chitkul end to end. Homely food, don't expect non veg.
The vibe of the place is so good that I'm planning another visit already, probably in the winter this time.
The stay was good. And the view from the place is anazing. Which is a big plus point! Another plus here definitely is the food. The hosts Arpit and Purva cook the food themselves and I would 10/10 recommend staying here if you are in chitkul. The rooms are cozy, but hot water may not be available all the time. You can walk around the property in the village and Baspa river is pretty close by and can be accessed after a short walk. Special mention to pepper and grumpy who made the stay just perfect for us?
The best place to stay i found in Chitkul. The views from here were so mesmerizing. All the services we got, whether its staying or fooding, all was up to the mark. Thank you so much for making our stay so comfortable that we are sure to plan once again over there.
PLEASE AVOID. One of the WORST night stay we ever had. UNHYGIENIC, with unclean bed and DIRTY washroom. What was worse was the unattending attitude Curtains were barely covering the windows with cool breeze coming inside. Dinner was OK
Wanders nest Chitkul or Laps Stay (Instagram) is a nice well maintained hostel. It has the best view of Dhar. We stayed here for 2 nights in and our stay was good. Food was decent and host Arpit and Poorva were supportive.
Wanderer's nest is definitely one of the best property in HP. Situated in the heart of Chitkul village, this property gives you a chance to explore the real beauty of Kinnaur. I stayed here for more than 4 days and was always showered with love and care by Arpit and Purva
The only hotel with a great view. Must visit on your trip to chitkul. And if you are a dog lover. This is the place to spend a night and make some good memories.
Worth the stay, the location, the rooms, the food, good ambience and vibes are excellent. Arpit bhai and purvi ma’am doing great job ensuring a memorable stay for fellow wanderers. And once the sun goes down the bonfire the place is even more magical. Would recommend for sure
The best budget stay you can have in Chitkul. The view from here is amazing. Awesome hospitality. Clean and tidy rooms.lovely food and one can enjoy nice hike to village.
It is about 500m from the road. You have to go walking uphill. No pickup service for bags. Rooms are okish. Bathrooms are small. Geysers don't work. Food is okish they messed up our order. And way overpriced.
The location is great, away from the hustle and congestion of the main road. A beautiful stream runs through the path leading up to the property. The view is great. Their dogs Pepper & grumpy will just make your day with overloaded cuteness!
Food was good. The rooms could be cleaner and the washrooms could be better! All in all a good stay! All
Arpit, Apoorva and Jayesh. You guys have pulled out a phenomenal place to stay amidst the clouds with scenic view. The hospitality that you guys showed have made our stay more pleasant and lovely. Good luck guys and keep hustling. Until next time
“Luxury mountain retreat, close to nature” The location of the hotel will make you fall in love with the place promising yourself to return. Food is really good and the view from the property is mind blowing. In hotel facilities like fishing, stargazing, instrument playing and open-air barbecue is like icing on the cake and makes it more perfect to stay. I’m surely visiting this place again soon.
Awesome experience at Wonderer's Nest. Visited in April 2021, had a snowfall there. You will get healthy, freshly cooked and delicious. Plus point. Very kind and welcoming manager, Arpit.
One of the best property to host you at the Chitkul- The last indian village on Tibetan boarder. Good hospitality provided by Arpit. The rooms were clean and specious. Location is very good compared to other properties as its on little elevation and away from congestion. Food was too good and rates were okay. The have a great cook and all rounder Rajdeep to serve you there. Would love to visit again. They will make you feel like other home.
The view of the mountains is magnificent. Rooms and services are OK, considering the fact that this is a very remote area. What I don't like is the blaring music played by some guests and the management seemed to be in no mood to discourage it. After 11 PM I had to harshly tell the guys to tone down the music and call it quits. Another thing that I didn't like is the poor porterage facility. I had very specifically told the guys that I needed to check out at 6 AM and needed someone to port my luggage. There was not a single guy available at the appointed time. This despite the fact that I had given a decent tip to the boys. Finally, we two senior citizens, had to huff and puff to carry the luggage to the car. This is no way to treat senior citizens. If you are a senior citizen, this kind of nasty surprise awaits you.
Accessibility: Very Poor; The hotel is located on the hilltop where vehicles can not reach. (Definitely not suitable for Old aged people) ; One has to climb up to reach the hotel premises. It is about 10-15 min walk from the market
Hotel Location: Very Nice on the hilltop with beautiful views from all the rooms.
Rooms: Rooms are overall clean with all basic facilities; walls are painted with pictures which goes perfectly with Wanderers theme. (Tip: No need to book premium rooms as all rooms are same with good views)
Service: Just OK. In general staff can be more responsive to guests needs
Dining facilities: Very bad. There is no place to dine. They dont have a proper restaurant kind of a setup where one can sit and dine. The room they have kept for dining is not clean and is full of insects.
Food: Freshly cooked and tasty
There was a breakdown in electric supply in all the rooms on the top floor as it was continuously tripping. They could not fix the issue and all guests on the top floor had to stay without electricity.
Overall experience could have been better. Not the best value for money property
If i had a word to describe this place, i would say perfect! The rooms are very cosy and dont be dissapointed if u get to know that they dont serve non veg because the veg food that they serve is better than the non veg starters. The view from the nest is so peaceful and magnificent. Thanks to all the cooks and special thanks to Gagan who kept on fulfilling all out demands with a smile on. And last but not the least Arpit for such a comfortable stay!
When you talk about the 'final frontier', few places actually fit the bill. You are at one with nature with unrivalled access to the Dhaula range here. The Slight 5min hike should be easy for most.
The first thing should be that your staff should be respectful and courteous enough.yesterday I was there with a friend and we came to your property twice, and your rejected us any food. Just cuz we weren't staying at the property.that's pretty lame.
And the manager "Arm pit" (Arpit) said next time you come directly to me, I will give you a good excuse.
Chitkul is such a charming tiny little village, literally at the very end of India on Tibetan border. Words cannot describe its charm. And wanderers nest is perfectly named, that is what it is. It is surrounded by beautiful snow clad mountains on all sides. You will have to walk about 150m uphill from parking place. If there is luggage, staff will help you to carry. All the rooms offer view of mountains, premium ones from 2 windows, otherwise there is not much difference.
Facilities wise, please note that you are in one of the most remote parts of India and do not expect luxuries. In fact at the time we went (mid April) temperatures were still going to freezing in night times which meant no running water in bathrooms. The staff would bring in buckets of water (freezing) on request. And then an immersion heater was provided to warm up the water in about 10 minutes.
The best part of the place are staff, Arpit the one in charge, Kamal the chef and all others. They are a bunch of young and energetic lads ready to help with a smile. Kamal would made good food exactly as per our requests, we needed it very much travelling with young children. I forgot my jacket during checkout and they offered to ship it back to me, waiting for it to reach though.
At the time we went there was lot of snow on other side of river on the mountains and we had all the mountain for ourselves. Kids and us had lot of fun trying mountaineering and all other snow play. The icing on the cake was there was snowfall! Supposed to be rare in April 3rd week.
If you are someone who is not too picky on comforts and like to soak in nature among friendly folks this is the place for you. But once again remember that this is very remote location and things can change anytime like power outages, road blockages etc. Of course the staff will do everything in their reach to make you feel better.
I highly recommend Sangla valley, Chitkul and Wanderers nest. Ping me for anymore questions you may have.
I only wish the hosts would contain the amount of alcohol, smoke and noise on the premises. We were travelling as a family and it was little uncomfortable to be standing in balcony while continuous partying was happening with an younger crowd. They were a bunch of youngsters having harmless fun so we were ok but I dont think many other family travellers would appreciate it. Date of stay: April 2019
Will not recommend to any backpackers this hostel.
Rooms were not clean as well as toilets.they provided me dorm which was used by someone and was dirty. Staff behaviour really cold towards travellers. There were no one in reception And after waiting and waiting cook came in last and he directed to my dorm.
Quite a pleasant stay. The location was awesome as the scenery from there was breathtaking and the weather was chilling outside but the room was cozy. The food was delicious, loved it. The staff was cooperative. One should definitely stay at wanderers nest if travel to chitkul.
Given the limitations that come with such a secluded place (no network as well), this place was awesome. Staff was really cooperative. Extended my stay after being there. ️
A comfortable place to stay in Chitkul. It has dorms as well as private rooms with good views. They also serve food from their kitchen although it takes quite some time to be prepared and is also on the spicier side.
It's a nice hotel, you can stay here with your friends or family members. The view of the village from the hotel side is very beautiful look.those men who lived in the village, they are really nice behaviour people. They help everyone who comes for tourist.the village is is looks beautiful.this village have really natural beauty which make peace to everyone.thank you for reading this.
Do not pick this stay if you have elderly people in your group who can’t climb lots of stairs. This isn’t accessible from the road. It involves a 2-3 minute climb. Nevertheless it’s a nice, neat, pleasant stay with a good view of the hills. If you want to avoid the 2-5 minute climb, you might want to look at zostel or some other place.
Hotel is situated 200meters up the main road. You have to keep your bikes down and climb the path to the hotel. But the view from up there is awesome. Staffs are freindly and food is good.
