Tirthan Anglers' Retreat

I'll start off with a disclaimer that this property requires you to walk down from the road on a steep path that is fairly easy to climb down but may be difficult to climb up for some. Dilsher is an amazing host. He was extremely responsive throughout the booking process, he was kind enough to give extremely detailed directions on how to reach & was regularly checking with us on where we had reached on the day of our travel. The rooms are basic yet cozy, have well equipped washrooms with all modern amenities. The staff is very courteous & will help in making your stay even more pleasure able. The food (Lunch/Dinner) is laid out as a buffet which while being home style does not lack in taste at all. If you're up for a snack by the river or in the evening by the fire with your drinks, the staff is just a holler away. We went angling as well & thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Must go if you are looking for for quite, peaceful and Riverside stay. Property is right next to the river and away from crowded Goshani town. Excellent food and hospitality.

Super hospitality. Just 6 rooms. By the flowing stream. Loved angling, bonfire, BBQ snacks, lovely food. Totally cutoff. Had no Vodafone signals. The car needs to b parked up and then its a hike down the valley for about 10-15mins. The owner Mr. DILSHER MANN personally looks after all n that goes the extra warmth to the place. Pls.don't go by temp forecast. The valley is at least a few degrees colder than suggested on forecast and windy too.

We went to the Angler's retreat for an afternoon. We were a groupnof 15 people with kids of mixed ages. To get to the property ine has to walk down the side of a hill. While the walk down is not an issue tue climb up makes you burn all the caloriws you would have hogged for your breakfast
The property is a groupnof nicely made cottages by the river surrounded by fruit trees and flowers. A dainty little set up. A small piece if fairyland if you are there in the right season

The gurgling stream makes a pleasant companion to the hammock strung in the sun. There are a few seating options (covered and open) for one to relax and chit chat. An outdoor bar next to a fire pit checks the "T's" and dots the "i's"

We were treated to a tasty meal in the xovered restaurant by the river.

The property is run by Dilsher who draws upon his experience of the hospitality industry to make sure every guest is well taken care of

Absolutely lovely stretch of the tirthan River rapids, right at the edge of this lovely retreat. Dozens of excellent spots to fish along a good half kilometer of the river, amidst large boulders. The owner Dilsher is super friendly and very very helpful, so is the staff, who are always happy to serve up some food or drink.

I stayed in room 102. Rooms are quite basic, no fan, no AC, but very clean, with good linens and towels. Bathrooms are spotless, hot water, jet spray.more than adequate for us city dwellers.

Food is a highlight. Simple, fresh veg and non veg food, made by Deepak the chef and all round man Friday. Bring your scotch, sit right by the roaring rapids and enjoy a bonfire if you like. A perfect escape for 2 to 3 days, with access to easy and difficult hikes within an hour drive.

Negatives: its a narrow 200 meter goat path like walk down from the road to the retreat. Easy if you're moderately fit. Remember you've to climb up as well, to get out. Bags are moved via trolley, so no hassle there, but packing light is suggested.

Bugs. Its the wilderness, so expect bugs, especially in the evenings. I'm big phobic but I managed it here, so most would be fine.

A beautiful off the grid property, away from the road and into the nature, with wonderful staff and a river flowing through the space adding to the beauty.

Tirthan Anglers' Retreat is a heavenly stay in Tirthan Valley. The resort is located at a depression from the main road. This involves some steep walk down for about 7 to 10 minutes. From the top, the place looked sprawling and peaceful. We could hear the sound of a gushing river on our way down. The river winds its way almost inside the retreat. In the next couple of days, the river bank was our favourite place. The resort has a lot of arrangement beside the river. Bonfire, makeshift bar, barbeque – the guests can enjoy the riverside in many ways. They also have comfy tables and chairs and hammocks and boulders where once can laze, sit, and generally do nothing.
There was a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. The fare was nothing complex, nothing running into a multiple pages of a formal menu but simple vegetarian and non-vegetarian fare, salads, fruits and dessert. They made a continental spread as well for one of the meals.
We are coming back to Tirthan Anglers’ Retreat whenever we need to escape our hectic urban lives for some holistic detox.

It's a lovely place in Tirthan valley. Nice property, simple but sumptuous food, just along the river Planchan.
