Wildflower Hall, An Oberoi Resort, Shimla

Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but what makes it such a nice place to stay is the staff. Everyone is incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. We traveled with two six-year-old children and a lot of luggage and the nicest places we stayed in the four weeks we were in shimla

Had gone for lunch on 19th of this month as we always go during our visit to Shimla. It is has been always a wonderful experience. So was this time too except the "Trout fish in Himachal Grevey" Fish was to very hard.we pointed out but were told it is like this only.

Very good place to stay with family, pleasant atmosphere, good service, good food.very enjoyable.

The staff at this property and the atmosphere are all great….

I was here on a vacation with family and have to say, it was one of the most pleasant stays. The property is in nature. The staff is very forthcoming and helpful. Food is authentic and super yummy. If you are looking for an ultimate experience, do consider it.

Attended a family event here. The place is an absolute charm. The rooms are comfortable and clean as per the oberoi standards. Hospitality is spot on. I enjoyed the breakfast the most. Stayed there for two days.although the rain didn't stop but the fun continued. It was super cozy and at the same time a grand affair. Stunning location, fantastic service & such good food! We had a great stay at Wildflower. Special mention to Prashant, Akshat, Thapa, Abhishek who were always ready to help & made our stay extremely comfortable! The yoga instructor there is also wonderful. The chef & dinning staff put in great efforts to provide us food that wasn't even on their menu on our request. Big thank you to the entire team on their amazing hospitality.

We held our daughter's wedding at the Wildflower Hall recently. The setting, the service and the courtesy extended to us and our guests was not only exceptional, but straight from the heart. One common refrain we heard from our guests was that they never heard a "no" from anyone at the property.

Vishal the ex GM was instrumental in ensuring the planning phase was a breeze. He had help and support from our wonderful friend Prachi.

Gaurav the current GM ensured that the plans put in place by Vishal were executed to the T and in the best traditions of the service that is the USP and Hallmark of the "Oberoi Hotels" the world over.

Prashant the F&B manager went beyond the call of duty before and after the wedding.

Rajat the Chef ensured that the food was of the highest standard throughout the wedding.

Sanchit put up with all our tantrums and demands and kept a smiling face throughout the entire event.

Himanshu, Akshita, Atul, Ujjwal & Dikshit were just some of the many that ensured we lacked for nothing during our stay. There were many many others working in the background ceaselessly, that we as parents of the bride not only had a stress free time but also enjoyed the entire wedding.

Stunning location, impeccable service and fantastic food. It's a must visit especially in the winter months. Dont miss the private trail at the back of the hotel for a morning walk or a drink at Kilpling bar or a card game at the cards room. The property also has outdoor sports facilities and lovely benches all over the property to just relax.

Beautiful but very expensive hotel to stay in. It gets more expensive with taxes.room, food, cleanness, comfort, services and location are also good. Wildflower was sold to Robert Hotz and his wife. In 1925, after demolishing the old house, Mrs. Hotz erected a fine three-storey hotel.

Nestled amidst mountains, this resort is great for trekking, hiking and mountain walks; service is very customer oriented.

Amazing place, truly a heritage property with antiques and a Mesmerizing view along with so energetic associates along with the supervisors and obviously the managers. Truly a great experience, everyone should atleast visit once this place if they come to Shimla.

What makes it better than most other hotels, is the attitude and politeness of its staff.
Special thanks to mr. Sanchit for making my dad’s birthday memorable by arranging an amazing surprise setup. All I asked for was a nice secluded place on the property for a nice family dinner and he got the whole place lit up with decorations and lights. It was one of our most cherished moments as a family.

Mr. Mohit in housekeeping had also done an excellent job assisting with all our requests.

Had a very very bad experience at the restaurant. Totally uncalled for and careless. There was a strand of hair on the bread and upon letting the staff know, they were unapologetic. The chef came and explained that this is normal and can happen anywhere while bringing the food from the kitchen to the table. It’s astounding that they don’t bother to cover the dishes while bringing them and then give these very very sad responses. Sadly, wildflower hall is no longer what it used to be. The Oberoi magic has died and this staff will take this hotel down. Very saddening.

Everything about the property is amazing specially the service. The staff was very polite and humble. They tried their best to fulfill all our requirements the room service was amazing. Food was too good specially the Ravioli must try. The location is on point we had a very nice and peaceful stay exactly what we were looking for.

I had the misfortune of visiting terrace restaurant at wildflower Hall. Unfortunately, terrible is the word I have to associate with service quality.

Imagine customer having to make a request for accompanying cutlery and an indifferent attendant looking other way. A normal napkin which never arrived. Interminable wait for a bread basket and then paying a bomb for this.
A visit to nearby sher-i-punjab dhaba would have been more rewarding. At least it carries no pretension.

A gem of a hotel in Shimla. We went there for lunch only. Chef was originally from Mumbai Oberoi and made some excellent Himachal food for us. Tiramisu was too creamy (avoidable). Very excuisite hotel with a long history, though the most current version is built in 2001. Quite a few activites for those who stay in the hotel, though most of them are on additional chargeable basis, as explained by our tour guide. Great for large families who want to stay away from the crowds of Shimla.

What was Bad? - Coming there for the first time because of the hype was a very big disappointment. Between the 9 of us who ate there, none of us really liked the food, not one dish at all. The service was so slow and poor. We guys went to a dhaba the next day for a meal and that experience was 100 times better than Oberoi’s. Even after pointing out a fault in the fish dish, the chef came to convince us that nothing was wrong. I wonder if the entire staff has been changed. Surely a big round of retraining is required. Would have loved to donate all the money we paid for the wildflower experience.

The only thing that was good that the staff at the reception and so was the valet.

I've visited this place in 2011 for drinks. It for sure is one of the most sublime hotels in the world! The location, the forest, the palace, the service - everything comes together. I will be back one day!

One of the best heritage property in shimla for Tourists and for those who comes here for their vacation. This hotel provides you the best Service with accommodation and your stay will become memorable. Visit once. Situated almost around 100 kms from kalka and around 15 kms from Shimla station.

THE best experience ever. This deserves more than 5 stars. Words fall short to express the gratitude towards the incredibly courteous staff. Totally homely atmosphere. The views of pine trees and the valley from our very comfortable and spacious room were enchanting. I can speak volumes about the sunrise views from our room which was truly magical. The couple room in the spa is nestled amidst the dense pine forest is absolutely breathtaking. Undoubtedly the best place in Mashobra.

Jai Hanuman. Wish they could have a few ATVs electric green and would be great to drive around there. Quiet. Safe and green. Something to do. Activities are limited.

They could have music playing in the garden and the lawns too.

As you enter the lobby you will be greeted with the signature namaste from the hotel staff. Beautiful warm and vibrant lobby will immediately take your attention, and the wooden interior of the hotel is absolutely astonishing.

Restaurant and Bars

There is only one restaurant at the lobby level which serves the buffet and ala carte menu according to the preference of the guest. Indoor and outside both seating options are available.

Dinning at the outdoor area can be one of the highlight of your stay as the views is just amazing.

Cavalry Bar is another area where one can sit and enjoy thier choice of drinks and enjoy the view of the valley from the huge windows.

A conference hall is also available for the meetings and other occasions according to the preferences.

Decor

As I already mentioned about the wooden interior of the hotel is outstanding and appropriate according to the weather conditions of the hilly region.

The walls are decorated with beautiful vintage pictures of the olden times which also reflects the history of the place and the people who have stayed and visited in that place.

Spa

This is the most highlighted part of the hotel as you will find the luxury at its peak. As the spa in the hotel has been awarded one of the best luxury spa in the world.

The infinity pool of the hotel is just out of this world. As the heated pool and jacuzzi will give you the feeling of real luxury surrounded by the astonishing views of the valley filled with woods of pine and cedar.

Activities

Inside the hotel you can enjoy the billiards and tennis, outdoor activities like river rafting, tracking, mountain biking and more  an be arranged by the hotel.

I would like to thank Mr. Vishal Virmani the General Manager of the hotel who allowed us to visit the property on our request. Will surely be visiting and staying in the hotel in future.

Pros: The location is lovely. The hotel has a vintage feel with beautiful teak wood furniture, classical music playing in the background, stone arches and slate roofs like some fantasy castle.
The service despite covid was spotty but mostly on target. When we asked for difficult to procure medicines, they managed to get it somehow.
The jacuzzi and pool section is fabulous with a GREAT view. The hotel is well maintained and classy.

Cons: Food is a real downer as it was basic. I don't think it was appropriate for a place that charges 30k rupees+ a night. Most of the times I didn't enjoy the breakfast spread. The chhole, akuri, the pav bhaji, etc was bland, cold and unfit for any five-star hotel. Some of the continental food like the ravioli and the tortelli was nice but typical. In contrast, similar hotels in India such as the Taj Rambagh and Lake Palace really impressed us with their gourmet food.

Regarding the activities, we had asked if we should book in advance and they constantly told us to come there and then see. But after we landed there, the picnics were all sold out. Finally they relented and offered us some picnic spot but it left a bad taste in our mouth. It almost felt like they were not interested to coordinate the activities.
The kids' activity room was basic. My son waited for an hour and nobody came to start the video game and they just started YouTube and left. If I had to make him watch YouTube, I would have done that in my own house.

As more people come during these lockdowns, greater care should be taken to ensure people have a good but also SAFE experience.it felt like the front desk was reeling under the pressure of so many checkouts and check-ins at the same time.

My husband and myself stayed here for an overnight stay and it was absoultely incredible. The service levels, the ambience, the food everything was spot on. We went for a 5 km hike and it was so relaxing yet breath-taking at the same time.
Dinner was amazing, great food and great coctails too.
Would highly recommend the spa. The massages are out of this world.we had a couple massage and it was definitely one of the best we've had ever and we have travelled ALOT but i would put this on par with the amazing massages in South East Asia. I highly recommend the massages for sure.
The outdoor jacuzzi was definitely a great feature as well.nothing like taking in views whilst relaxing.
Overall a fantastic experience and definitely something we look forward to doing again.

The cool verdant locale in which the resort is located is its biggest plus point, especially for tourist coming from the scorching plains during summer. For someone preferring quiet & solitude, it is the best place to stay as you are far away from the maddening crowd cocooned in the tranquil deodar forest. From its high perch, one has a panoramic view of the snow clad Himalayan in the background & green terraced fields in the foreground. The staff is courteous and hospitality top class. Stay in this luxury resort is pure delight if you have deep pockets & budget is not a issue because a normal non veg lunch for 5 person could push you back by slightly over Rs. 12.000/- approximately.

A luxurious resort with some super luxurious viewpoints and facilities at the top of hill in Shimla. It's a little bit expensive as per its standards but it's rooftop lunch area is awesome. Staff is quite knowledgeable and humble

Excellent service, staff, food and over all management. My family and me were stuck in a snow storm while getting down from wild flower but they have been so helpful and exceptional with their service. I would recommend a visit to everyone atleast for a meal if not stay. The view and vibe of the place is unforgettable and an experience you’ll always remember! 5 stars!

Excellent property. Quite enchanting. In the cold, biting, clear night, enjoyed watching Orion, Gemini, Cassiopeia, Auriga, Perseus, Andromeda and Winter Circle with Mars near Alderbaran. Food was very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Worth visiting.

This luxury resort is between kufri and Shimla. To reach it, you have to take your car up a lush green uphill trail which is beautiful in itself. The property is on a slope that offers unbelievable view of all the inner ranges of the Himalayas. Previously a British residence, this resort houses all luxury amenities including a heated infinity pool on the mountain edge. The views from here will surely leave you mesmerized and moved. Amazing service by the incredible staff and absolutely great food and alcohol collection.

Everything about this place is truly 5 star. Food very high standards as you would expect, the people are GOLD impeccable level of service to the whole team front desk, spa, restaurant, pool, outdoor activity etc.

Outdoor enthusiast who also history will absolutely love the nature trails as the guides will share loads of interesting details about the topography what has made it happen the people behind it and loads more about the impact of the British Raj and importance of Kasauli and that whole area.

The view and location makes it a big reason to visit as well. It’s surrounded by very beautiful mountains covered with Oak, Pine and Cedar trees.

The rooms are just ok - we booked valley view rooms are small.

I would recommend not to spend too much time in the hot jacuzzi as it will drain you out completely.

Really liked the hotel and the sevice was excellent. Old colonial hotel was a nice change from modern city hotels. Good view of the Himalayas from the 3rd floor. Dont leave your windows open or the monkeys will help themselves to your mini bar. Good indoor pool and outdoor infinity pool which is great for photos. It was my partners birthday and they made a cake for her which was a nice surprise. Recomended if you're not on a tight budget.

This was a very memorable stay at a classy yet vintage place in Shimla. The real star of the hotel are it's vintage Oak panelled game rooms and the lovely swimming pool and sauna. Food could be better. Rooms are perfect. Staff is very courteous, as could be expected from an Oberoi property.

It is a luxury hotel in Shimla. The prices of this hotel is little high but the hotel facilities are worth their money. Staff is also very nice. If budget is not a problem for you then good place to stay.
