Zostel Homes Mashobra (Shimla)

It was a pathetic experience.i felt like a jail and seems u guys have hired a jailer who doesn't allow for anything in the property.this property should be locked and people should never go in this property. Staff behaviour was very rude. And this is not a Zostel at all.property was like some dirty OYO rooms.

The best place I've ever stayed at. I wish I could live there forever. It's peaceful and beautiful. Best stay for people looking to work while travelling. It has all the things one could ask for.

The only con is that the location is not easily accessible as the route is completely full of stones and road is destroyed every year due to the weather. So it's not quite convenient. But they offer pickup and drop so that helps a lot.
However;
Reasons I would love to visit again:

1. Food is to die for, even Khichdi is delicious.

2. Excellent facilities with TV and squeaky clean bedrooms and bathrooms.

3. They have 2 lovely labradores.

4. They have a pool table and table tennis facility.

5. There's also space for outdoor sports and a swing as well.

6. The staff is humble and friendly.

Ok ok place, view is good. Staff is best so great service, great food while the only drawback is the 5km steep downhill on a broken terrain so not recommended to take your vehicle downhill as they provide you a bolero for pick & drop. Another drawback is the 2 dogs at facility out of which one of them is very energetic and always wants to play however not everyone loves playing with dogs so keeping them open in facility is not recommended.

The location and rooms are really good. However, prices are high for the service. Good place for a staycation. The route to the property is really bad and you need to have a good high ground clearance vehicle to reach there. However, if you inform the property managers, they'll arrange a vehicle who'll charge 300 rupees.

The rooms were quite spacious and service was very prompt. The care taker is very sweet and gave good suggestions for food and made few customised items for my 1 yr old baby too. The view is spectacular and the garden is full of different species of flora. They even have a library too apart from a table tennis table & a slide for kids. The only downside is the location which 5 km away from market. We carried a packet of bread and amul butter for our untimely hunger. The food item is on the slight expensive price which makes sense because it is far away from the market. The dal & puri bhaji are best here.

It was a wonderful stay! Very courteous staff. 2 things- the heat in the room was not sufficient given how cold it gets in Shimla. A small heater was provided that is not enough to warm the room up. 2nd thing, the water wasn’t running warm and the Gyser didn’t work. I complained as well but it wasn’t fixed. A suggestion would be to let people know how occupied the zostel is when they’re trying to book! Having people around at zostel makes the experience fun. So if you have 5 people staying on a particular day- please do mention it! It eases the process of booking. The location overall was great- but the drive down was very very poor. So I’d think twice before booking this particular zostel only because of the off road drive

The location is very nice the food is okay the rooms are very nice and the staff is very cooperative especially Praveen and Raju bhaiya, only draw back is the route from Mashobra to the property as it's 5kms off road. Do not try to self drive as it's tough.

Amazing place amazing food. Giving one less star only because i felt the two dogs at the property are not taken care properly. They definitely getting good food but they are not safe. Due to open area all around dogs should not be left alone to raom outside. They should always be accompanied by someone or should get trained how to defend themselves from wild animals. One of them got badly attacked by local dogs outside the property and he was so scared and was crying in pain and fear

Its in between the forest and no way to go by driving.rooms are also not as expected. Avoid at all cost.

This is a great alternative to folks looking to plan a weekend trip a bit farther than Kasauli and away from the hustle and bustle of Shimla.
This is a property in the middle of nowhere, perfect for a relaxing and rejuvenating break.

A few tips for you though:
The last 4 km of the path is BAD, like 80% Spiti type road with crazy incline/decline angles!
Please coordinate with the zostel staff beforehand as they’ll send an apt SUV with an experienced driver to pick you up from the main road.
If you are still keen on taking your own car:
Avoid driving at night, make sure you have enough experience of driving in the hills and trust the locals as GMaps might screw up a little!

The best hostel you could find in kurfi. Its like and hour and half drive from shimla, kind or in between Theog and kufri, on between the highway, and the view is extraordinary, sooo goood. Food was great, there were lots of indoor activities to do, they have foosball table, pool table, indoor study room as a library with a great view where you can study your books and they have great variety of books too. There was games too, like uno, jenga, chess and much more, the terrace view is fabulous, the view you get from up there is really so fantastic. You can have fun on roof, eat and drink, play some games do some activities, they have great open space over there too. And they even went for the sunset view point in evening, it was just like 10minutes drive. And the view from there was extremely upto the mark. There are shops nearby also, so you can get most of the things easily. Rest, its was the best hostel ive ever visited in himachal.
Staff was great, so helpful, and confident with their work, all thanks to them. For making my stay more enjoyable.

Only for those who dare to drive a really bumpy road downhill of almost 6 Kms. Had to keep the clutches pressed for half an hour to reach the place. Almost a 30 to 40 degree decent. Road is not meant for small cars. Only SUV and mostly 4*4 I would suggest.
The property is maintained well with good food served.
If you want a calm and peaceful place for your stay with no distractions at all then nature, it's a good place.

This is a fraud Hotel. I will suggest you to never waste your money in this Zostel Homes. Their location on the MakeMyTrip is wrong and they do not provide any support. We booked a room in this Zostel Homes through MakeMyTrip and we followed the location mentioned on MakeMyTrip to reach there but to find out that the location is wrong and we were in the jungle with the whole family. It was really very terrific. After that we tried to contact the Zostel Homes to ask them for their location and they did not even provide that location. After that we had to book a room in another hotel as there was no other option.

Bauth he bekar ha. Too much cemented doesn't feel close to nature. 2 big 4 floor buildings. Not at all Raw. It was the worst zostel that I have travelled yet. Manager was like marke bithaya hua ha. Food was Ok. But no reason Why i will be booking again this property. Try another zostels/bnb.

And yes property was throwing their waste on sides. Not processing it. Spoiling the nature.

A must visit & stay property near shimla even with family. Very quiet & peaceful location. Pick up & drop facility from mashobra central point is provided by zostel which is worth appreciating. Food & all staff service is excellent especially Raju bhai who takes care of guest pick up & drop. Must visit if someone is near to shimla. It is not a hotel just a home sweet home for everyone.

Overall good except location. Very dangerous location 5 km from main road that also muddy road.

Beautiful place, isolated from rush of Shimla. Polite staff. Amazing food. Amazing view from balcony. Good property. Remember, its a homestay, not a resort. But worth staying there.

Zostel homestay located into the woods, a perfect place to stay for nature lovers.
The stay will offer you views of shivalik range with lots of apricot and cabbage gardening.

The rooms are good, spacious and clean.

Staying here was the best experience I had in Shimla. Totally offbeat location, off-road of 5 km from the main road, only their vehicle can go. They send their vehicle to pick up as we were traveling in a sedan, no way a sedan can reach there. Located deep inside the forest, no other property around. We were little scared while going to the property as nothing was around, but the property itself was awesome. Per feast place away from the overcrowded Shimla. Food was good.
