The issues we faced were something that cant be neglected by any traveler.
1. Imagine you came after a long ride or travel and instead of getting a fast check-in, the staff tell you to scan QR code, and do a self checkin (ahaan zostel hired a guy just to show you where the qr code is. Comon guyz be more lazy and send instructionon on whatsapp itself). You will not feel any help/courtesy/initiative from staff regarding help with the your luggage.
2. Clear instruction that, no food, beverage, NOT EVEN TEA is allowed into your room. NOT EVEN TO PREMIUM ROOMS.
3. MENACING RATS: whole night we faced rats running around in our room. Well here i will appreciate the staff that they did tried to catch rats once we informed about it. But, to our surprise they did not have rat killer or trap, instead giving us explanation that "fields are in vicinity and thats why there are rats", well then why you guyz have such a poor planning that you dont even have rat traps.
4. No dedicated space for keeping your cloths or drying then in room. Poorly designed rooms, and bed is not cozy at all.
5. Poor room noice insulation: if you unlucky then you might end up hearing noices of couple" making up" whole night, and its so damn loud. So think about it.you know what i mean. Once you pay for premium room, you expect good noice insulation so that you can sleep well, instead of listening to someones nonsense talk or other screaming.
6. Lets talk about some good things now. I liked the open restaurant. View from common area. Location that it is in walking distance from bir landing site. Have dedicated parking space. Electric Heated blanket. Hot water and wifi. Stories on walls. Scan them using QR code. R. O water. Overall ambience of the premise.
Absolutely precious place in the beautiful location that bir is. Ticks all the boxes - Hospitality, Hygiene, Food, Service, Helpful Staff, Great View, Value for money and all that I missed mentioning. No questions about staying here again, when Bir call us back:)
Location - is far from main bir area, if you don’t have bike, it will take 30min of walk, in night the walk is risky as its in remote place
service- i am disappointed with canteen service, in night when i asked for chicken roll they told me its dinner time order something from dinner main and after few minutes one guy came and ordered toast sandwich and they accepted his order
also mine dinner order was super spicy.rooms - rooms were nice, clean
AFTER VERY GOOD EXPERIENCES IN ZOSTEL MANALI, SISSU, RISHIKESH, I am absolutely disappointed with zostel bir.
The dorms, private rooms, washrooms are very nicely planned and designed. Very clean and nicely maintained. The entire property is very beautiful and the food from Olive kitchen is amazing. Being an architect, I really liked how the rooms are designed keeping in my the views, serenity of the place, orientation, regional architectural style etc. Services are also good. One thing I feel is that zostel should give toiletries to everyone as well. Rest experience was amazing
Now, this may sound tricky but I'm sure you would have my perspective. The place is made up lavishly but I guess is managed by a lot of terms which Im not sure if hostels should have. Now I leave your sense of judgement to verify my points and experience. -The mix dorms dont have curtains and everything just gets open for anyone and everyone in the dorm - The beds are placed in a manner that everything you do is just open for all and you cant have your personal space in anyway until you sneak in your blankets - For a hostel kinda feel drinking isn't allowed onnthe overall property - After paying soo heavily for dorms or rooms if I want to play any game in the common room I would have to pay additionally and that really didn't add up - Majority of the rooms were occupied by couples (Not solo or youth travellers) and this really gave me a strong feel of a hotel over hostel.
So overall it was a well maintained property with a lot of rules and clauses just to make me feel uncomfortable, unwelcoming and unpleasant.
Zostel bir plus is one of the best zostel of all. I have tried more than 7 but this one is so homely. Staff is professional and kind. Olive kitchen staff is also very good and food they serve is amazing. I celebrated Holi here with my friends and staff was so courteous to offer us Holi special food. Vibes are just perfect to chill and work also.
One of the best property of Zostel I have visited till date. Well maintained property and offers a very beautiful view. Slightly costly but it's worth the price.
Zostel Plus Bir, or Zostel XO, is probably the most beautiful hostel property you’ll be able to stay in India till this date. The common area and dorms are super clean and extremely well maintained. They’ve conveniently avoided walls and replaced them with huge glass panes wherever possible, so you’ll wake up with a beautiful view of Bir boasted by this well placed sun facing property. Ashish and Dheeraj at the front desk are the best guides you can ask for, so you don’t need to plan anything as long as you’re dropping bags here.
Perfect place and perfect vibe. Ashish, the person in charge is a really nice and responsible person. Very humble, responsible and helpful. Talking about the property, it's a beautiful place and very clean and visitor friendly. They always take care of the comfort of visitors. Would love to come here again and again.
The property is beautiful, food is delicious, and their owner, the manager, the staff always help make my travel hassle-free by arranging my paragliding and taxi to Dharamsala in a very short notice. Would like to extend my stay in Bir if I don’t rush to come back to Dharamsala for Losar Tibetan new year. See you again everyone there, I’ve left in a rush so I couldn’t say thank you and proper goodbye to you!
One of the best places to stay in Bir. The view is awesome, and the rooms and common area are huge and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and the food is awesome.
Had a wonderful experience at this amazing property. Ashish and Lucky were most helpful and will go out their way to help you. The Olive Cafe is great, especially the cooks make the most amazing food, both veg and non-veg. Try the meal option if you are on a budget trip like me. In terms of constructive feedback, mirrors in the dorms would be great ;p
Had heard a lot about Zostel Bir and finally got a chance to come and stay here. Great location in Bir. Friendly, warm and welcoming staff. Their in-house restaurant, Olive Kitchen, has a decent variety of items. Clean and hygienic kitchen with good food. Refreshing smoothies, good Chinese dishes preparation but my personal favourite was the Chicken sandwich. Highly recommended for stay.
Bir zostel is located at a very nice location. Great view of mountains from the rooms and sunset view is also very pleasant. Very well maintained, hygienic and clean ambience. Zostel staff members are also very welcoming and helpful. Ashu bhai at the reception was very kind and also suggested some good locations to explore in Bir. It is a must visit place when in Bir.
Stayed here for a week in June 2022. Up there with the best hostels I have visited in terms of location and facilities. I really loved how they have found a relatively secluded place in a busy part of the city. Big thumbs up to the guys at the reception too, Lucky and for being so hospitable and going out of their way to help me with a lot of my things.
The only thing I feel the people at the hostel could try considering is relaxing the rules in regards to alcohol consumption a little later, although I did feel the relaxed and sober mood around the place to be a relaxing change.
Keep up the good work guys, I hope the place stays the same for years to come.
The property was great with the fantastic view. But zostels have many rules and regulations that you have to deal with. Zostel bir is a kind of workstation place. Great for people who are there to work from mountains.
If you're visiting bir, make sure that you stay here at least for 2 days if not more. You'll no what the hype is all about the moment you step in. Starting from the dorms to the private rooms, the common area and the lawns, it has managed to wow me in terms of comfort, aesthetics and quality. As a solo traveller I had a wonderful time getting to know and befriend a wonderful set of people here. Food is a bit pricey but great nevertheless!
I went there to eat at their restaurants. The food was good but the location was super. Loved the dome shaped design. The common washroom was made just like international hostels i have been to. The crowd was good too. Hopefully next time it's not fully booked and i get to stay in their rooms too.
It was wonderful to be with them. Their hospitality was too good. Especially Ashish who mange everything well. Strongly recommend to stay. But foods are way too expensive.
Zostel Bir 2.0 is an amazing place to spend one’s holiday. Nestled between the mountains, this place is rustic and relaxing at th same time. The staff is extremely polite and friendly at Zostel. Olive Kitchen at the premise serves variety of food that reminds you of home cooked meals.
Some of the staff members are really shady (girls watch out) won't take names here but the place is awesome. The property and view is really amazing. But People handling it are not so much.
Zostel Bir 2.0 is an amazing property. As soon as I entered I was mesmerised by the space. The view, the plantations on the property is just so good. The rooms are amazing, clean and spacious. It’s a must stay if you are visiting Bir!
The stay was simply amazing! What made it more amazing were the people whom I met during my stay at Zostel. The experience was fantastic and I would suggest people traveling to Bir should atleast stay once at Zostel.
Best place to stay in Bir. No other choices. We've been planning to stay since 2020 but finally got chance to be here. Friendly, helpful and humble staff. Neat and clean washrooms and property. Good music and chill vibe. The view from the property is on of the best in entire Bir. Would recommend everyone to experience the stay atleast once when in Bir. Cheers to Ashishbhai, Dhirajbhai & Luckybhai for the amazing hospitality and helped us book a cab in emergency situation.
The place is located just a kilometre away from the bus stand and half km from the bazaar road The locality is serene and have beautiful mountain backdrops Great place to chill and have fun You can meet lots of new people all the staff are friendly and helpful Cab services can be booked and suggestions are made for all They are very informative about the place Playing and casual sitting area is also amazing Overall a great experience Wifi available even Work from vacation is also possible
Zostel plus bir, the ambience is great, clean, staff helpful & polite, you get a great delicious food at campus, but I think in the summer ac need to be installed as in the day time it's very inconvenient there in dorms rooms. Otherwise I would hv rated 5 star
But need to think about air conditioned rooms now.too much hot room due to glass windows that we can't sleep/stay in room during afternoon. Next time we ll come again only if there will be AC rooms.
Overall it was the good experience. Property was nice. It was secluded and quiet which was a good thing. There they have their own cafe also, food was nice. Room service should be provided that's a minus point.
Had a wonderful week staying at zostel bir.property is amazing and well maintained. All facilities were available for working professionals. Place has a amamzing vibe. Stay was very comfortable and enjoyed rainy scenes and amazing food. Will look forward to visit again.
I haven’t seen five star level accomodation at such prices. This is the place to be to do your workcation! Big kudos to Mr Ashish ji for assisting us with literally everything. I haven’t seen a more humble caretaker than this person.
