Akkayamma Betta Hill

Temple complex at the top of a hillock with a legend around it. There are 3 or 4 shrines around the top which are frequented by devotees during busy times.

A flight of 150 steps takes you to the top. There are good views of the airport from the top on clear days, and you also get to spot local fauna.

Cleanliness and facilities are non existent though.

Good place for bird watching, a small hike, to have a picnic, watch a sunrise or even the sunset. There are so many places where plastic waste and alcohol bottles are dumped by stupid antisocial morons. Be respectful and considerate of the environment.

You shud either visit this place for sunset or sunrise! It’s absolutely worth it! I went on a evening and it’s a good chilling place. You can spot airport coz it’s far! But be aware I don’t know how many have experienced this! The access to the hill is in two ways! U can either walk or the vehicle goes until top! If anyone in higher authority seeing this I want you to take an action! As there’s a shop near the parking! The shopkeepers children try scaming and robbing from you! I was with a friend! And I was sitting there.a small girl came and caught my friend legs and started asking money.while she’s asking money another small guy who had come was trying to open the bag and steal things.and then I somehow escaped from there and came back.while they were doing the same thing with the other people who were there…catching their hands and legs and asking them money.and when I was returning near the parking they were near the shop and giving the money whatever they got to the shopkeeper! So be aware when u visit there. I also ask some higher authorities there to take a strict action, so that the public shouldn’t get disturbed when visiting this place as they come to this place for getting peace of mind! But instead they getting robbed is what they don’t expect.
Place wise it’s the best and u have the whole city view from top!

A beautiful small hill with easy trek. Awesome sunset view. Visitors must refrain from littering the place. All over you can seen broken beer bottles. Ample parking, scenic view for a afternoon or evening family quality time.

One hour drive from Whitefield. Scenic hillock with temples to visit with family. Car parking free at hill top. Then walk to the temples and see the views. Carry own food and water, tea. The drive to the destination is also good. Less traffic and good roads. Go early morning or in evening. Worth visiting once. Good for a half day outing.

There is a temple located beside hill. View from top is not bad. We can spot flight landing to new runway from there. One can stay till 6pm only, afterwards cops may come and ask to you move.

Easy to access, hardly 4-5 km from Bellary road. Easy to reach the top, hardly 10-15 minutes walk up by steps. Lot of places to sit and get a good view of the city. A nice place to visit in the evening with family.

Overview: Looking for a casual trek and a place to relax? Akkayamma serves just that purpose!
It isn't long, steep or challenging at all, and hardly a kilometer at max. In fact it would hardly count as a conventional trek. However the view from the top is pretty, different areas of bangalore are visible, from farms to forested areas, to the urbanised places and even the airport. The horizon is decorated with differently sized hills and mountains shrouded in clouds.

Other things to do: The place also has a temple, a big one at that, and a few tiny businesses around it; in case you'd like to add some religious purpose to your stress relieving travails, it's a great place to go to!

The final destination: The top of the hill is also quite aesthetic for some fancy pictures, if you don't mind a few "love messages" inscribed on some of the rocks. The peak seems to be relatively empty compared to other hills in our city, and has some rocks and boulders all over it.

Ease of trek: The terrain is safe to walk through without the presence of any experts, despite its sedimentary nature. You could pick the long set of staircase if you'd like, or walk on the scaled rocks if you'd want to up the difficulty by a notch.

Very nice hill.just near to the decathlon.i went for shopping to decathlon.then i saw this beautiful hill back there and decided to go there.its a wonderful hilll.there is a temple up above the hill.u can take your vehicle near to the top.overall had a wonderful experience

Beautiful hill, it's essentially a giant slab of granite. Perfect for a short hike or a run up and down. Saw a couple of MTB cyclists on the hilltop and figured the granite is also good for mild to extreme downhill in certain sections. Lots of boulders on the top, not sure if any routes or moves are set on them yet. There are a few temples too on the top, and majority of the people seem to be there for visiting the temples. Overall the views are pretty decent from the top. Unfortunately, you can also see garbage thrown around in certain corners, especially towards the base.

This place is good in the evenings to chill. There are two views, one where it's known for its sunset and the other view where you can see the airport (you can see the landing and takeoff of airplanes.
Avoid this place in afternoons/rains as there is no shade/shelter.

Short trip for a weekend. Get some good view of the north bangalore. Go either early morning or evening. Be careful if you have kids, there are steep edges around rocks

A beautiful place which is east to find on maps! There's a bus also. You can ride scooter/ bike up till the top or you could climb. The view is beautiful and it's serene. It's quite and calm. There aren't any shops there, so go prepared. It's clean (please keep it that way). Best to go early morning or evening because it gets super sunny and there isn't much shade.

Best place for a short ride just inside the city. Peaceful place and an amazing view of the outskirts of Bangalore. You can see planes fly by, Bangalore airport, national Highway, and a beautiful lake. Beautiful place a quick photoshoot too. You'd love it️

As the name says there is Akkayamma devi temple at the hill top, it's a small trek and has steps built, temple will be open on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
But now this place has become evening gathering, you can see lot of ppl visiting this place in the evening, specially during weekends.

Serene place for a small hike, around 30kms from the busy Bangalore City.
The view from top is amazing. There is cool breeze at the top where you can just forget everything and relax. There are good spots with boulders for photography. There are also temples at the top (open on Tuesday, Friday, Sunday as of now). You can either climb stairs from below or take your vehicle and park at the top. There's a small parking fee. Best time to visit is early morning or evening time where you can enjoy the sunrise/sunset.
If you're lucky, you can spot airplanes from Bengaluru airport. The best road to get here is to take Yelahanka route.

This is a good place to visit during evening times! You can either climb via stairs or go around the hill on bike/car and then climb to the peak. Parking place available both at the top and bottom the hill. Must visit the temple too. Overall a nice experience!

Amazing view with clear breeze. Be careful while climbing. Clean air top of the hill with lot of greenery around this area. The sunset is beautiful to watch. To reach there need to get inside the Chikkajala area from there if you head for 2km there you will find one Anganwadi school and if you take right then you will find the parking spot. Carry your own water bottle and eatable but please don’t throw away your disposable over there.

Peaceful place with calming views. If you're tired of nandi, this is a beautiful alternative on a cloudy Sunday morning. There's also a field of magenta and cherry blossom pink flowers, which gives you breathtaking pictures.

1 time watchable hill and super view full surrounding but improve Temple plz it's very small in big hill. Temple is a main attraction for people.

The temple is situated close Sri Venkateshwara engineering college. You can park your vehicle down and climb around 200 steps or drive uphill. The temple is open on tuesdays Friday’s and sundays only. It’s a very peaceful place and a powerful goddess.

Really nice place to chilli out during nights, now there some people are charging parking charges which doesn't make any sense, coz previously we went there more than 20 times and no one charged for parking.

Nice place to spend your evenings with 360 deg view, A temple is constructed on top of a huge rock. You can stay on top till 7 pm and after that it’s not safe moreover that’s not permitted. If you stay there after 7 pm then you will be caught by the police on behalf of safety and illegal activity related issues. Try to reach there before sunset and enjoy it. You will even the get the view of Bangalore International Airport from a far sight.

Awesome peaceful place, sunrise better than sunset, PLEASE DO NOT LITTER THE PLACE, people are spoiling the integrity of the hill by throwing plastic waste all over the place, please do visit and chill for a while and make sure you get your waste back with you. It will be surely commendable if you can pick something up (even though you didn't throw it) and dispose it in an efficient way and save the hill from plastic waste.

A dry hill where lot of trees are required. This place is a few minutes away from the city centre. A cool breeze that allows you to calm all your nerves down and helps you relax for a while to relieve from all the entire weeks stress. The akkayamma temple here is one of the powerful temples around this place.

It's peaceful, not too crowded and on the outskirts of the city. I went there to enjoy the solar eclipse that happened but the cloud cover made it hard. So i can't say for sure how the sunrise are. The hill is relatively low in altitude with bike being able to climb most of it. It's like a big slated ground on the top with huge and small boulders spread across it. Great place if u want to spend some time alone in the mornings. An old couple asked me to pay a parking fee even though i wad sure I parked my bike in a public place. I felt bad for them and gave the money.

Nice getaway from the city. It is a quiet place overlooking the city. Fun place to bike to with your friends. Not too much crowd at all so you get your own privacy as well. Worth spending 30 mins here if you have the time and are near the airport.

Chill place to hangout with friends. Beware of the police if going after 6 30pm. They are basically there for bribe. Amazing scenery. Best place for plane spotting and njoying the breeze. There is so many photo spots which one should never miss. Scenic views and rocks.

The hills closest to the heart of the city.the roads are pretty decent and easy.there is no paid parking.but still few local ppl ask u to pay 10-20rs as parking fee.the peak can be trekked as well as reached via bikes and also cars.there is a temple on top as well.the breeze is very good at this place.nice place to chill with friends and family within 20kms from Hebbal.

It's a mini hill with temple and well on top. It has stairs as well as roads leading to the top of the hill. But both are on different sides. You can spend an hour or more here. Roads are good and is easily approachable.

It's a right place for having fun with friends on a betta. We can chill out and do a good photoshoot.

If you are staying 10 km within the radius of the hill and are looking for a good spot to witness the sunset, this is your option. You need to go about 2km from the airport road. Remember you are heading into Dodjala village. So respect the serenity of the local residents there. When you arrive at the hill, you have parking facility. And on the hill there is a temple. Kindly refrain from any substance abuser, the villagers are strict about the sanctity of the place. I have gone cycling to the place a lot of times and I had a wonderful experience watching the sun set. I am sure you will enjoy it

It has a history of 300-400years of history,
Once a family with no children for years, they came here and prayed with lots of humble requesting &praying maatha Akkayamma &tied an thotilu to tree,
After a year baby born &it was given to goddess the first child.they came and prayed with good pray telling that it belongs to you maatha take, and they lest baby and a hen in thotilu in the Kalyani in front maatha temple and the left, later they went another side of the hill &they seen a well where they could find there baby back to them, and that became the history in Akkayamma (betta).
