Archana Guesthouse riverview & Roof Restaurant

Could not recommend this place enough! It’s in a perfect location we walked everywhere all over Hampi ruins, you don’t even need a pushbike everything is right on your doorstep. The room itself was nice enough with comfy beds and a nice bathroom. The owner is so lovely and really helped me so much with my bus journey when leaving. Delicious food and great prices, you eat looking over the river and banana trees. Really would highly recommend this place in Hampi! Thankyou!

Very nice staff, perfect organized, helpfull with buying bus tickets and all information. Really calm place with beutiful view.

We have been travelling around India for 5 weeks on limited budget. This is by far the worst place we have ever stayed in. The place was dirty and smelt of pee.
We arrived on an overnight bus at 5am. An auto rickshaw driver took us to this hotel and he charged the extortionate price of 600 rupees. We later found out it should have been about 180. Obviously he took us to his mates place at an horrendously inflated price. Normally we are really streetwise, but not having slept the whole 8 hour journey we weren't thinking properly. We checked in for 2 nights and paid, but left after 1. What a nightmare place! It spoilt our impression of Hampi with rip-off people everywhere. Have to say that the ruins of Hami were impressive though!

We visited Anna's place and it was totally worth it. The whole family served us excellent food and that was too unlimited. I would highly recommend it for food and stay

Tasty South Indian food with a magnificent river view to enjoy your meals with. Must-stay places in hampi. The host Ravi was very helpful with providing rooms and arranging transport for us!

Was exactly what I was looking for, for Holi in Hampi. Can't beat the location, in the heart of the little town. The best thing about this place is the boss man, Ravi, a good natured, friendly and informative guy, just what you need when you're in town. They serve nice food too.

Ravi and his family are really lovely, the room was great, the food was excellent and Coffee our tour guide was the best tour guide we've ever had.

Nothing fancy, no-frills guesthouse. Rooms are simple, but they're nice and clean. Excellent service by the people that work here, they're very lovely and welcoming. Amazing view from the rooftop over Hampi. Restaurant isn't anything fancy but it gets the job done.

Only downside is that it's a bit expensive for what it's worth. If you don't mind that though, i can highly recommend staying here.

The Host was polite & the food was good. But the cost of the room & food were very high. I had to cough up rs. 4000 for a room which was worth just 700 to 1000 rupees. It is the fate everywhere in Hampi especially during peak seasons. They squeeze you ruthlessly. Better stay at Hosapete, where food & accommodations are very cheap. You can easily hire an Auto for site seeing in Hampi which will workout very cheap. Remember site seeing at Hampi but stay & food only at Hosapete

Most economic stay option in Hampi. But don't expect regular amenities (anywhere in Hampi). It's basic minimum, but sufficient accommodation.

Location was very nice, but the rooms were smelly, like sewage. The fan was very noisy at night. Checkout is at 9AM which felt early for the area. Price is affordable for the area.

Loved my stay here. Rooms exactly as pictured - simple but very clean. There's a lot of guesthouses in this area but what is nice about Archana is that it sits closest to the river, so from the restaurant on the roof you look out onto nice greenery instead of the town. Would definitely stay again:)

My girlfriend and I stayed at a guesthouse next door but were often at Archana's for food, especially breakfast; their food was amazing! Ask Ravi and Manjula (I hope I've recalled their names correctly) for their lemon rice, poha, dosai and dal. They were super friendly hosts and gave us great tips too. It's a small family-run business. We found Manjula helping her kids with their homework every evening. Give them a visit. They deserve it!
PS: the shop downstairs (right next to the staircase) belongs to the same family.

One of the best places to stay in Hampi. Only a stone's throw away from the Virupaksha temple, with an amazing river view cafe, a place to be, when one is not out, exploring the ruins. Would come back here again and would suggest evryone, especially the solo travellers or the ones travelling on budget to stay at this place. And the owner Ravi is as friendly and helpful a person can be. Words fall short to describe his and his family's welcome. For me it's a 10/10 experience. Can't make myself to leave.

Accessible to main hampi main attractions. Home set up rooms & good also accessible with a separate price.

Archana guest house is near to virupaksha temple. The rooms are average with attached toilet facilities. They have their own hotel facility with a nice view of tungabadra river at one side and virupaksha temple on another side. The rooms are good for the price range (700 rs). 2 person can stay in one room. Nice service and helpful staff.

We stayed here for 3 nights must say good service by the owner. Also the food here is home made and fresh. Highly recommended

Best scenic view guesthouse available in hampi. Budget friendly. Hampi market place at 500mtrs. Food quality is good too. Staff is very cooperative. Service is good. Wifi, hot water available.

A wonderful place to stay. No hassle, very supportive. Has a nice restaurant and a grocery store as well.

Pros-Friendly host, stay at decent looking plantation view, very close to temple (Virupaksha). Cons- Stinky rooms with unclean bedspreads (gave me dust allergy as soon as I slept on them), noisy neighbours giving sleepless nights, not at all worth the 1900 per night fare that we paid, only worth max 1000. Consider Padma hotel if you wish to stay close to temple area

We stayed here for 2 days clean and tidy rooms with basic amenities at really cheap cost. Virupaksha Temple is in walking distance, 2 min away from ferry point, location is perfect.
Owner Mr. Ravi was vary helpful and welcoming and his wife made delicious meal for us they both made us vary comfortable in food we tried appe masala dosa tea filter coffe and their special thali, perfect view of banana tree and river view from rooftop restaurant

Had the chance to experience hospitality of the guest house owner Ravi. The rooms are decent, but what amazed me was the food and the nice view that its dining space offers! The food was prepared and served with great warmth and love.

Clean and Tidy rooms with basic amenities at cheap cost. Owner Mr.ravi was very helpful and welcoming. He helped me arrange a Rikshaw for the city tour. Great view from the Rooftop restaurant. Good food. Virupaksha temple is in walking distance. Mobile network is not so good though but they have excellent WiFi connection with good speed. Great stay overall

Great stay! Neat and hygenic rooms with hot water. Budget friendly. Perfect location and amazing views.walking distance to Virupaksha mandir, 2mins and also other temples. Loved how Ravi, his wife and cute kids made us soo comfortable and fed us delicious meals. We were 3 women travelling and felt perfectlyyy safe! Id ago there again! Even alone!

Lovely place to stay. Provides very good food. The owner Ravi bhai is very kind and helpful and the nature of ravi bhai is very friendly and gives good guidance on travelling.

Stopped by here for lunch and to work. The wifi wasn't sufficient to do basic work. However the food and the place completely got me to keep work aside and enjoy the spectacular view. The river view is serene and food was impressive. The tea here too was good. Don't miss the meals.

Pros- Very friendly and warm welcome by the owners.
Rooms are decently clean for the stay.
Walkable distance to virupaksha temple, hampi bazar and to other major attractions.
Room doesnt have a view but the terrace has a good view of temple and tungabhadra river.

Cons - High room price compared to a regular business hotel.
Poor or zero wifi inside the guesthouse. But the restaurant wifi works fine.
Food taste can be improved

Rubbish owner Ravi who does not know how to talk to women.
He is a horrible fellow and is very very rude on the phone.
When we asked for a room on new year eve, he asked us to pay in advance even before coming which we declined.
Thankfully we found a much better place in Kamalapur (2kms to Hampi) & didn't have to further deal with this uncouth human being!

One of the Best places to Stay in Hampi. Its just next to Tungabadhra river. Decent place to stay but definitely mouth watering food was served here. The host is extremely helpful.

I will like to give an extra star to the hospitality, we got back to our stay very late, and unfortunately we didnt have any food. But the host prepared food for us late night. Thank you so much.

Behavior of the guys are good. Food is OK. Riverview rooftop restaurant is OK. Guys need to acquire some value addition attitude. Wifi is too bad. Rooms are crammed.

Very nice service. Manager Ravi is very friendly and cooperative. Descent rooms for solo and couple travels with value for money. Food is delicious and quick. Location is very prime and everything is within 1-2km of radius.

ಟಾಯ್ಲೆಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ವಾಸನೆ. ಯಾವ ನಲ್ಲಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ನೀರು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ರೂಮ್ ತುಂಬಾ ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೆಡ್ ಶೀಟ್ ಕೂಡ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಲ್ಲ, ನಮಗೆ ಈ ರೀತಿ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡುವವರು. ಫಾರಿನರ್ಸ್ ಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಯಾಮಾರಿಸ್ತಾರೋ. ಕೊಠಡಿಗೆ ಹಾಗಿದ್ದ ಬೀಗ ಬೀಗದ ಕೈ - ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳು without key ತೆಗೆಯಬಹುದು. Waste of money.

Great place to sit and enjoy the view of the river and the Virupaksha Temple in hampi. Restaurant has great food and good prices. Definitely recommend this place. The owner Ravi helped us book train tickets, exchanged money and gave us useful information about the bus schedules.

This was our first trip post lockdown and we were apprehensive about stepping out. At Archana's homestay, we were completely taken care of. The rooms are comfortable with hot water for bathing. They also have AC rooms. The best part would definitely be the food and their hospitality. They make you feel right at home. It's also right next to the river Tungbhadra, so you can enjoy the view from their balcony cafe seating. Definitely try out their Dosas.

Good place to stay, Owner Mr Ravi is courteous and helpful. He attends well to customers and provides good hospitality. Rooms are clean and Tidy, hot water is available. Food is good.

One of the best homestay in Hampi village. Major bonus is its river facing restaurant and house. Owner is really friendly and helpful. I would recommend to taste their Mushroom Masala.

Rooms are small. You need to pay extra for attached washroom.
They have a roof top restaurant which has wonderful view of the tungbhadra river and other side or river i.e. Hippie island. Food served is okay.

The hosts were lovely people and they made sure our Hampi experience was smooth. The food was extremely tasty and the rooms were also clean. All in all, a lovely place to stay and would strongly recommend anyone visiting Hampi to visit this place

The owner is a cheat. We had the worst experience with him. His rooms are sold locally for 600 and he charges almost triple online. Just to cheat the gullible foreigners booking online. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

Comfy bed, mosquito mesh on the windows, optional AC (we didn't need it which made the room cheaper), WI-FI (was pretty good for this area), clean room with a hot shower.all you need in Hampi!

Great views of the river from the upstairs restaurant which is run by the friendly Hosts. I would highly recommend the Masala Dosa and the mango lassi, but watch out for the monkeys!

Swing in garden area outside the room was a nice addition.from what we saw, not many of the other guesthouses have a garden.

All-in-all, it was a nice relaxed guest house in a good location and it was suitably priced!

One of the worst stays in Hampi.
Although it is located close to the temple, the stay was not at all pleasant.
Rooms were quite old and very congested.
Food was not so great.

You will get a room in ground floor with a swing when you choose the riverview rooms. Breakfast is good and view from restaurent at top is so good.
